DSCN3987

HAPPY SATURDAY!!!  It's a gorgeous day here in Wisconsin so I'm getting my video loaded early so I can spend my day outside!!!

Here's a super easy technique that produces a super cool wow!!!  I'm calling it Highlighted Saran Wrap...I'm using saran wrap to create a background and then going back with a little bolder color to highlight my stamped images.  This card is a lot more spectacular in real life - REALLY - the photos just don't do it.

This card uses the new BLOOM WITH HOPE stamp set - an exclusive hostess set in the new catalog!!!  You can have the chance to get this stamp set FREE when you place your order by tomorrow night (Sunday, June 29th) in my $1000 WORKSHOP GIVEAWAY - see the details below by the hilarious PARTY image!

Sneak Peek!!!

100_5240
I'm playing this morning...when I should be making my Christmas gifts....but if you were here earlier...you know that my preorder from the Sale-A-Bration Mini and Occasions Mini Catalogs came yesterday!!!!  And I just had to do a little playing - right???

This is one of the stamp sets you can get free in January - HOLY COW!!!  It's called Bliss and comes with 5 beautiful images.  I immediately thought "wedding!"  I saw a card made by fellow demonstrator Gretchen this morning with a vellum overlay and the light bulb came on.  Here's my vellum overlay card:

100_5238
TIPS:  The first time I tried to stamp "BLISS" on the vellum - I forgot that vellum is non-porous - meaning that the ink has no way to be absorbed - and of course stuck my finger right in it and smeared it everywhere.  I always use StazOn ink on vellum - but I really wanted to stay with my color theme and use Rich Razzleberry...so I stamped my image in the ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder - TA DA!  When stamping on vellum - you can use regular Classic Ink (as opposed to a Craft (pigment) ink that would normally be used for embossing) because it stays wet - won't absorb into the paper.  Perfect for embossing on vellum.  The other tip I want to share - this is Vellum Cardstock - it's heavier - a better choice for the embossing folder.

I love the "peek-a-boo" feature of using vellum.  I stamped my greeting on the vellum and then stamped the beautiful swirly image on the cardstock underneath.  It's that soft look under the vellum that gives your card a look of elegance.

I also wanted the inside of my card to carryover the "elegance" of a wedding card.  I used the Full of Life stamp set - one of my favorite greetings for weddings - and embellished it with a string of our Pearl Jewels - how pretty!  When I stamped the swirly image with Soft Suede ink, I stamped off once before stamping the inside of my card.

Here's a close-up of the pearls.

One more thing...I almost forgot about the little Mr. & Mrs. tag...what a wonderful accent to any card.  These images come from the Tiny Tags stamp set - a perfect embellishment!  I stamped off with the swirly image, stamped it on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, stamped the greeting over top and then punched it. The tag is adhered to the ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot.
