Punch Cards

Buffet Sneak Peek!

102_4668

Here's a little sneak peek at one of the cards that will be available at the Card:Scrap Buffet next Saturday!  This card comes from Carla - she attended the Demo Shoebox Swap that I hosted earlier this month.  Aren't these little purses adorable???

She used the cupcake builder punch for the purse and the little circle is the 3/4" circle punch - so cute!

Oh Baby!

102_4389

Are these soooo stinkin' cute???  I found a similar card online and tweaked it just a little bit.  These cards were part of the March Card Buffet selections - you could make the pink one or the blue one...a buffet of fun!!!

The Decorative Label Punch is the key to all the cuteness!  I used it for the bottom of the dresser - just put your folded card into the punch half way and waaa laaa!  I started with a piece of cardstock cut to 4" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2".

All the pieces on this card are sponged - this really adds dimension.  I used Marina Mist for the boy card and Pretty in Pink for the girl card.

The Bitty Punch Pack is perfect to layer under each pearl to make this card all girly!!! Don't forget to sponge your bitty flowers first.  The boy card doesn't need any flowers (of course), but I did use the Mini Brads for the drawer pulls.

102_4392

And that top drawer is popped up with Dimensionals...so it looks like it's open just a little bit.

102_4390

The ledge on the top of my dresser was made with the Decorative Label Punch too!  Cut your cardstock 1/2" x 4-1/4".  I used Markers to color the baby elements and cut them out...here's where the putsy part comes in...

102_4391

Insert your dresser top into the side of the punch like this...

102_4393

And WAA LAA!!!!

Technique Tuesday on MONDAY!!!

102_4397

We will enjoy our monthly Technique Tuesday class on Monday this coming week.  The spring soccer schedule is upon us and most games on are Tuesday's and Thursdays...so things will be a little jumbled for the next couple months.

Technique Tuesday is scheduled for Monday, April 9th at 5:30 or 6:30 at Trinity Lutheran School.  This class includes 3 projects with a technique instruction card.  The class is $5 with a $15 order or FREE with a $40 order.  Just call or email to register.

In my search for a punch card for this month - I ran across a card that used a heart punch as a flower...so I started looking at my punches and thought - Hmmmmm I wonder if I could use the butterfly punch to make a flower.  And by golly - I could!!!  So here's one of the cards for Monday - the punch art card using the butterfly punch to make the FLOWER!!!  And let's not forget that Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper - it's sooooo bright and cheerful!

102_4399

You'll need 5 butterflies and a 1-3/8" circle or UPDATE: the Circles #2 Die.  I found that regular adhesive did not work to keep the butterfly petals on my circle after this was posted...all the petals fell off!

102_4402

Fold each butterfly so that the fold is just to the side of the middle...

102_4404

UPDATE:  Cover your circle with Sticky Strip or die cut the smallest circle from the Circles #2 die and use the Sticky Sheets (shown below) and start placing your folded butterflies like this.

102_4407

Notice - when you get to the last butterfly - you want to pick up the edge of the first butterfly and tuck this one underneath - so don't push that 1st petal down too much.  WAA LAAA!!!!

102_4410

I used half a butterfly to make the leaves too.

102_4400

Hope you can come on Monday!!!

TASTY!!! Recipe Card Class

Screen Shot 2012-01-06 at 1.10.16 AM.png

100_4667

I love sharing recipes....and receiving the really good ones too!  Join me next week for a unique class - we'll be making cards and a recipe folder to share recipes with your friends and family!  These recipes are some of my favorites and always a hit with my family and friends.

When you want to send a little more....sometimes we have special people in our lives that we'd like to give a little gift to...like your weekend getaway hostess or your special friend that loves to bake...or anyone that you'd like to give a little more than a card to.  This class is for you!  Each card contains a recipe to share...from Monkey Bread to my family's favorite, Summer Salad, to Dreamsicle Splash and a party favorite, Chicken Enchlida Dip!  There's also a folder that holds 3 recipe cards to add your own recipes to.

100_4673

You have 3 different locations to choose from - please note the day of the week.  I get to spend the day with Hailey for a college appointment on Wednesday next week in Madison:

Hobby Lobby - Oshkosh - THURSDAY, MARCH 22ND at 10 am

1st English Lutheran Church - Oshkosh - THURSDAY, MARCH 22ND at 6 pm

Party and Print - Little Chute - FRIDAY, MARCH 23RD at 10 am

Call or email by noon the day before your class date.

If you have a favorite recipe you'd like to share - I will let you know how many stampers will be attending the class and you can make photo copies to share too!

JUST THE DETAILS:  If you'd like the project planner for the class - you can order it here for $4.95.  It includes photos of each project, ingredients and dimensions with scoring measurements.  This will be emailed no later than Monday 3/19:

How stinkin' cute is this?  I found the chicken on Pinterest and had to add the little HAIR on top - makes him look a little crazy (like me) and when I finished it - it made me laugh out loud...SERIOUSLY!!!

I used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch for the body, the cupcake punch for the wings, 1/2" circle punch for the eyes and the nose is made from one of the petals from the 5 petal flower punch. All the pieces are sponged with Sahara Sand ink.  That polka dot paper....IT'S NEW!!!  Coming to you next month in the NEW Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper!

100_4691

This little element is from the Best of Everything (page 103) stamp set.  I used the 3/4" x 15/16" oval punch to punch out the center and adhered it on a Dimensional.

100_4690

Where's that hair from???  White satin ribbon!!!  I trim the edges off of it and then unravel it using my paper piercing tool (better known to my customers as a "pokey tool").

100_4664

Here's one of my prized recipes...I received it from my friend Rachael.  Everywhere I take it - this recipe is requested!  It's super easy and delicious.  The green salsa is what gives it the FIRE...so if you don't like alot of "heat" - just use less.  ENJOY!

100_4669

Chicken Enchilada Dip

4 oz cream cheese

1 can cream of mushroom

1/2 cup shredded cheese

1 can canned chicken (12.5 oz)

4-6 oz green salsa

Put in little crockpot, heat and stir.  Serve with tortilla chips.  Spicy!

More Skating!

100_4655

I was fortunate enough to attend the Stampin' Up! Milwaukee Regional over the weekend...what a BLAST we had!  It started off for some of us on Friday night at a shoebox swap - organized by Laurie Zoellmer of Minnesota - she's in Dawn' Olchefske's group.  Big thank you to Laurie and Jan (she helped)!!!  We had soooo much fun!  The cards we made were amazing!  Here's my shoebox swap....a little different than the rollerskate I posted last week.  I used the Mixed Bunch and Bring on the Cake stamp sets with  different colors.  If you'd like to see the other rollerskate - click HERE.

The skate above was my proto-type...then I changed up the colors and made the card below.

100_4659

Just take a piece of 11 x 5-1/2 Whisper White cardstock that's folded in half.  Place it on the Stocking Die so the folded edge is just down from the top cut of the die.  This makes the top fold for your card.

I popped up the Pool Party circle with a Dimenional.  I used Regal Rose, Pool Party & Basic Black ink with Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party & Regal Rose markers.

100_4652

My wheels are made with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch and 1/2" Circle Punch - I used the Mixed Bunch stamp with black in for the center flowers....pop some brads in there and you've got a GREAT wheel!

100_4660

Here's the inside...

100_4656

I made this template below for my customers coming to the Punch Class on Wed morning and Friday night.  You can get more details on this class HERE.  This will make it super simple for them to punch the lace holes and lace up their skates.  A large darning needle makes lacing simple - start at the top hole, inserting your needle from the front - leave about 4-1/2" (measured on the template) of baker's twine so you can tie the bow when the lacing is done.  Everyone at the shoebox swap was surprised at how easy this card was!!!
