Another 3-Tiered Slider Card - ADORBS!!!

Here's the gorgeous card I featured at the start of my video yesterday!!! You can see that video here and learn how to make a Three-Tiered Slider card:

See Video HERE

I used the Build A Birthday & Amazing Birthday stamp sets and the Sweet Li'l Things Designer Series Paper to stamp up this card. The gift bag is one I had left over from last year - we have these little Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags on page 151 of the big catalog and you can decorate them any way you want! The little gift bag uses the Amazing Birthday stamp set along with the Hello You Thinlits and the Banners Framelits.

Don't forget to stamp up a matching envelope!

Here are all the dimensions, cutting and scoring instructions for this card:

  • Top Tier - 9-3/8” x 3” scored at 3-1/8” & 6-3/8”
  • Middle Tier - 10-1/4” x 3-3/8” scored at 3-3/8” & 6-7/8”
  • Bottom Tier - 11-5/8” x 4-1/2” scored at 3-7/8” & 7-3/4”
  • Hello Honey Tag - 3” x 2”, punch with Scalloped Tag Topper Punch
  • Channel Strips - 1/2” x 2-3/4”
  • Front Layer Top Tier - Pool Party 3” x 2-3/4”, Whisper White 2-7/8” x 2-5/8”
  • Front Layer Middle Tier - Pool Party 3-1/4” x 3-1/8”, Whisper White 3-1/8” x 3”
  • Front Layer Bottom Tier - Pool Party 3-5/8” x 4-1/4”, Whisper White 3-1/2” x 4-1/8”

  • Middle Tier - On the wrong side of the left panel starting 3/8” from the top and 1” in from the left side, cut a line that ends at 2-1/2” (it’s about 2” long). Move your cutter over to 2-1/2” from the left side and cut another line that is the same length.
  • Bottom Tier - On the wrong side of the left panel  starting 5/8” from the top and 1-1/8” in from the left side, cut a line that ends at 3-1/4” (it’s about 2-1/2” long). Move your cutter over to 2-7/8” from the left side and cut another line that is the same length.

New Occasions Catalog & Card Buffet!

Happy 2014!  Sorry I've been absent for awhile....I'm battling computer problems and they just keep getting worse.  I fried my hard drive for the 2nd time in 2-1/2 years...urghhhh!

I'm using Hailey's laptop to fill in until mine is fixed.  I'm trying to update today and I just downloaded a program on this laptop that will allow me to get customized screen shots (something that was standard on my MAC).  This was program that I use to use when I had my old Windows based laptop.  Well...apparently I also downloaded a virus to go with it!  It keeps shutting my internet explorer off and has tons of pop-ups.  I'm back on a system that I haven't used in a long time (challenging), typing on a keyboard that I have to backspace every other word because I'm not use to it (frustrating) and to top it off my internet keeps shutting down because of the virus (just shoot me now!).

I just learned Friday that Best Buy cannot retrieve any data from my fried hard drive...and the warranty does not allow them to give me my broken hard drive back so I can send it to a facility in Madison (instead of their recommended location that starts at about $1000) to try and retrieve the data (ie my photos for the last 3 years).  So I have another fight on my hands...hmmm.

I always look on the bright side and 2014 hasn't started out so good for me....BUT it could always be worse.  This is a minor hiccup in the sceme of life and I know so many people dealing with HUGE issues.  So I will count my lucky stars, smile and move on.

A huge thank you to all of my blog followers, customers/friends, class attendees, on line order-ers and family for bringing me the giggles and support to continue to smile when crap like this happens!  You are a GODSEND in my life!

And now for some stamping excitement!!!  A NEW catalog filled with fabulous fun and exciting products!  I've been busy creating new projects to share with you all!!!

Here's one - a fabulous gift card holder...the inside moves when you open the card!  Thanks Sarah Simon for sharing this with me!

I used the new ANOTHER GREAT YEAR birthday stamp set with some cool DSP called SWEET SORBET coming to you during Sale-a-Bration (which by the way...starts on January 28th!!!)

When you open the card - the gift card layer moves up!!!

Votive Cup Easel Card Video

Happy Thursday!  I was busy yesterday making a video tutorial for you!!!  This idea - the votive cup easel card - was shared at Founder's Circle featuring a Christmas card - shown here:

So I just had to try my hand at one of these adorable show pieces and made this card with the Googlie Ghouls stamp set for Halloween!

NOTE:  I picked up these tall votives at the dollar store...and I really wished I had the smaller ones you find in all the craft stores - they fit alot better!

Here's the inside:

And here's the card with the votive behind it!!!!  SPOOKY & ADORABLE!!!

Here's a video I made to show you just how easy this card is!!!

Pop Up Penguin Card

This card was sooooo fun!!!!!  The penguin is made with the 2-Step Owl Punch - just cut the ears off the owl and you have a penguin!  I love it when a tool does double duty for us.

The nose is the heart on this punch - turned upside down.  And the fins are the large oval punch - just punch out from your black cardstock and then use the scrap that's left over to punch slivers for the fins.

The snow on the front is a piece of 5-1/2" x 2-3/4" white cardstock - torn in half.  I used the bigger piece as the first layer (the taller one) and the other piece I tore off as the lower snowbank.  I layed my torn pieces on a scrap of typing paper and ran the 2-way glue pen acrossed the torn edge and dusted with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.....WOWEEE!

Here's the inside of the card - with the pop up.  I received a beautiful card from Founder's Circle with this technique inside.  My Technique Tuesday stampers asked last month to learn this technique for our class this month.

Here's how I cut the inside pop up channel.  Place your cardstock in the paper cutter at 2-3/4".  Cut from 5" to 10-1/2" down the edge.  Then move your cardstock over to 3-1/4" and cut again from 5" to 10-1/2".

Your then going to put your cardstock in the cutter the long way and score the channel at 5", 10" & 10-1/2" as shown below.  Fold on the score lines so it looks like this:

I punched out snowflakes with the 3/4" circle punch, backed with Not Quite Navy 1" circles.  I doubled these up so when they twirl around you have the image on both sides.  A little white Baker's Twine in between the layers was perfect.  Run some SNAIL adhesive down the channel on your card base and stick your Baker's Twine to it - spacing your snowflakes evenly.  Then to cover the channel up on the outside of your card - I used Letters From Santa Designer Series Paper - cut a 1" wide.  Make sure you apply your glue to the outside of the card along each edge of the channel - careful not to get any glue on the channel or your pop up willno longer pop up.  I prefer to use the Liquid Mono glue for this step.

You'll notice here that the scalloped layer is bigger than the channel - this measures 1" x 5".

The little sign is the cuff from the Stocking Punch - it's the perfect size to use with the Tiny Tags stamp set.

I used Tiny Tags, Serene Snowflakes, & Many Merry Messages for my stamp sets.

Here are a few of the products I used for this project:

Adorable Suspension Card

Another card for my Moving Card Class at Hobby Lobby on Wednesday, January 19th - how fun is this???  The #5 is layered on each side of 1 1/4" Circles - so you have two of them.  In between the circles is fishing line - this is what suspends it!!!  Before I slip my card into the envelope - I twist the circles 6-7 times so that when the card is removed from the envelope and opened it spins around - OH MY!!!!  How fun is that?

I bought this adorable stamp set last summer - and this is the first time I've had the opportunity to use it - I know...MY BAD!  I just fell in love with these cute images and the fact that you can personalize the "age" of your special someone.  This card will be for my little Andi - she's gonna love it!

Here's a close up of the suspended layers.  The arrows show the fishing line...if you look real hard....or maybe get out a magnifying glass - LOL!  That's the whole I idea - it looks like it's magic!!!

Stamps:  Look Who’s Turning Ink: Basic Black; Melon Mambo; Pumpkin Pie Accessories: 1 3/8” Circle Punch; 1 1/4" Circle Punch; Bitty Flower Punch; Rhinestones; Liquid Glue; Sticky Strip; Fishing Line; Googlie Eyes; Petal Party Scrappin’ Kit  Cardstock: Barely Banana   11 x 4 1/4 scored at 5 1/2; Pink DSP  4 x 3; Striped DSP 4 x 2; Pumpkin Pie 2 x 2 1/4 ; Whisper White  1 3/4 x 2

Here are some of the products I used for this card:
