Botanicals Wall Art

Here's a project I've been so excited to share with you!!! We have a gift exchange at our annual Demonstrator Christmas party and this is the gift that I made for the exchange. I am in LOVE with the Botanicals Suite in the Occasions Mini Catalog! I combined the Botanical framelits with the Hello Life stamp "DO MORE OF WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY" to make a beautiful framed piece. The frame is for a 12" x 12" scrapbook page.

Here's a close up - this was really quite easy to make - all I really did was die cut the flowers and leaves...sponged some color in the middle of the flowers and drew some lines on them with my Real Red marker.  The leaves look like they are porcelain because I squished them in VersaMark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder - twice!

The words are embossed with black embossing powder and the designer paper is from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. Add a little burlap ribbon and white baker's twine and WAAA LAAA!

Fun Display Board

 

A+ is what she got!!!  My step-daughter Stephanie came up last month to get a little help with a project for her internship at college.  She needed to make a display board for the Marian College open house.  We had a blast and her professor was beyond impressed!!!  If you have kids in school (college too) these are some great products to have on hand!

Sniffles can be beautiful...

This is just one of the many ideas I have in store for my stamp camp.  We'll be making gift tags, gift bags, and all kinds of boxes...you're gonna love it!!!!  

Here's the details:

BAG IT, TAG IT, BOX IT Stamp Camp

DATE:  Saturday, December 3rd

TIME:  9 am or noon (2 sessions)

LOCATION:  Trinity Lutheran School, Menasha

If you can't make my stamp camp - you can make your own Tissue Box Cover at home...

I used the Northern Flurry Embossing & Polka Dot Embossing Folders.

Base:  2 @ 5-1/8 x 9-1/2 - score at 1/2 & 5 - use liquid glue to glue the two panels together.

Lid:  6-9/16 x 6-9/16 - score at 1" on all sides - cut the tabs - run through the Big Shot with the 3" circle die in the center. Glue tabs together.

Put base over your tissue box - tissue boxes can be different heights (I found this out the hard way).  Put glue on edges of lid and place on top of box.

Layers for sides:

4 @ 4-1/4 x 4 (box)

4 @ 4-1/4 x 3/4 (layers for side of lid)

1 @ 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 (layer for top - run through Big Shot on 3" circle die)

1 @ 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 (punch with Decorative Label Punch in the middle and layer on top over hole for kleenex)

Emboss and sponge your side panels - stamp your image and glue to sides of box.  Do the same with the little layers on the sides of the box top.

Presents - OH MY!!!!

 
So busy making Christmas gifts this last week!  I sat down and made all the panels for 8 of these collages - how fun - REALLY!  I found the original idea from fellow demo Connie - I just love these!

 

Here's one that's finished.  Hailey made it for her boyfriends' mom for Christmas...don't you love the black & white photos of her kids when they were little???

Framed Christmas Gift!!!

Recycle those soda cans!!!! This flower is made with the Flower Folds XL Die and the Big Shot and comes to me from my downline Donna Warner!!!!  Another GREAT project that everyone made at the stamp camp over the weekend.

Butterflies & Magnets?

Another beautiful project from my weekend Stamp Camp!!! 

The butterfly is the magnetic memo holder on this bulletin board.  Made with 5" x 7" roof flashing - it's a super simple project!

Magnetic Bulletin Board Update!!!

I've had several question about this beauty....so I went directly to the source!  Jill Olson shared the complete instructions here:

This adorable magnet board can be made with any of our Designer Series or Specialty Designer Series Papers, but the great thing about using ‘The Write Stuff’is, you get all those wonderful tags to put on your board. And, one package will make 6 boards with plenty of paper leftover for coordinating flower magnets.

Materials Needed:

• 8” x 12” piece of metal flashing (you can pick this up at your home improvement store in 

the Air Conditioning Dept.   They are already cut to this size.)

Sanding Block

Round Button Magnets  (Get these at Michael’s or Robert’s)

One package of “The Write Stuff” Specialty Designer Series Paper

Rubber Brayer

30 inches  of wide ribbon, we used our 1 ¼” Striped Grosgrain

6” Linen Thread

Ultrasmooth White Cardstock (For Tag)

Color coordinated cardstock (For Tag) (Small Piece, We used Soft Suede)

Chipboard for Flowers (We used our Longboard)

Oval All Stamp Set

Priceless Stamp Set

Enjoy Every Moment Stamp Set

Soft Suede Stamp Pad

Punches:  Circles  - ½”, ¾”, 1”, 1 3/8” , Small oval and scalloped oval

Big Shot and Dies:  Scallop Circle, Flowers Layers #3

Crop-A-Dile

Glue Stick

Crystal Effect

Instructions:

1. First, round the corners of the metal flashing with a metal file or grinder.  Be careful, the edges are sharp.
2. Cut your paper to fit the board about 7 7/8” x 12”, but measure to make sure.  Using a glue stick, cover the back of you paper with glue.  Apply paper to metal board and roll with the rubber brayer to smooth.  Holes are punched using the Crop-A-Dile.  Holes are 2” in from the sides and ½” down from the top.
3. Trim paper if needed, and round corners with scissors.  You may want to slightly sand the corners to make them neat.
4. Using a glue stick, glue different patterns and colors of paper to the chipboard and let dry.  Cut different flowers using the Flowers Layers #3 Die.  Also cut circles using circle punches. Layer flowers and glue together using Crystal Effects.  This is important as the Crystal Effects holds better than the glue stick.  Let flowers dry and then glue magnet buttons on the backs, again using Crystal Effects.  Cover the tops of the flowers with a thick layer of Crystal Effects and let dry over night, or at least 6-8 hours.  This will make your flowers shiny and dimensional!
5. To make the “For You” tag, first cut a piece of Ultrasmooth White cardstock 2 ¾” x 4”.  Place on the Scallop Circle Die so that just the bottom edge of the tag gets scalloped.  Punch a small hole in the opposite end of the tag using the Crop-A-Dile.
6. Using Soft Suede and the swirly stamp from “Priceless”, stamp the tag, then sponge edges.  Apply a 5/8” x 2 ¾” strip of decorative paper near the bottom of the tag. Punch a scalloped oval out of Soft Suede (or color of your choice.)  Stamp the ‘For You’ on Ultrasmooth White and punch out using the small oval punch.  Stick ovals together.  Put this on the decorative strip, on the lefthand side.  Stamp the small flower on a light piece of decorative paper and punch out using the ½” circle punch.  Apply this piece using a dimensional to a piece of darker decorative paper punch out using the ¾” circle punch.  Apply this to the upper right hand corner of the tag.
7. Thread your 30” piece of 1 ¼” ribbon up through the back of the metal board and tie a single knot.  Trim ends.  Using 6” piece of Linen Thread, tie the “For You” tag to the righthand side of ribbon.

You are finished!!  And you have a bunch of darling punch-out tags you can stick to your board with the cute flower magnets you made!  HANG IT UP ON YOUR WALL AND USE IT OR GIVE IT AWAY AS A GIFT.
