These Floating Panel cards look so hard but as long as you keep track of the layers - they are really pretty easy. And lots of layers really makes a card look rich - don't you think?

I love that you can make the images from the Decorative Masks as light or dark as you want them with the Blending Brushes.

Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Masking with Masking Paper

Welcome to the July Totally Techniques Blog Hop! We are featuring masking techniques this month using the new MASKING PAPER (155480) shown on page 149 in the Annual Catalog. This paper is fabulous - it's just like a giant (5" x 7") sheet of post-it notes with sticky all over the whole thing!

The new MASKING PAPER is just like having ginormous Post-It Notes - WHOO HOO!

I used the smallest dies from the Circle Layering Dies and the Stylish Shapes Dies to die cut the circles into the MASKING PAPER. Then I used that on my 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" Basic White layer to add the circles with a Blending Brush. I used Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay inks. The silhouette  & label dies and butterflies are from the Meadow dies on Basic Black cardstock. The sentiments on both cards are from Inspired Thoughts.

Dimensions:

• Basic White Think - 11” x 4 1/4” scored at 5 1/2”
• Bermuda Bay - 3 3/4” x 5"
• Basic White - 3 5/8” x 4 7/8” & scrap
• Basic Black - scrap

On this card I used the straight edges of the Masking Paper to blend ink in the center of my front panel. I used the same colors as the card above.

Aren't these pretty? I love the pop of color with the black!

August Cards & Bingo Registration Open!

CARDS & BINGO - August:

Join me for CARDS & BINGO on Wednesday, August 10th. I'll be demonstrating 5 cards LIVE and we'll be playing STAMPIN' BINGO in between! SUPER FUN! Pre-register now - packets will be limited.

DATE: Wednesday, August 10th

TIME: 8 pm eastern time; 7 pm central; 6 pm mountain; 5 pm pacific time

COST: $35

LOCATION: YOU TUBE LIVE - LINK will be posted closer to the 8/10 class date

DEADLINE:  Monday, Aug 8th - or when packets run out!

WHAT'S INCLUDED

• You must register for the make-n-take packet to play. It will include cardstock layers to make 5 cards!
• You'll receive products worth $15-$20 in your make-n-take packet!
• Four games of bingo in between 5 card demonstrations.
• Below you'll find stamp sets that I'll be using for the CARD CLASS. You can add them onto your registration if you don't have them. Or you can use your own stamp sets of similar size/theme - it's up to you.

OTHER TIDBITS

• I'll email you a link (it will also be posted on my blog and Facebook) to a LIVE YOU TUBE video.
• You will click on the video link at the time shown above (your time zone) to join the LIVE.
• The YouTube Live Video will be available to replay over and over!
• Registration for the make-n-take packet is only available to US participants.
• Make-n-take packets will be shipped after the event, including add-on stamps/bundles.
• Prizes will be based on how many register for the card class - the more playing, the bigger the prizes!
• The cards pictured above are just for advertising purposes - we will not be making them.

HOW TO PLAY

• You will choose 5 numbers between 1-25. You will list those numbers on your registration form. Please write them down so you know them.
• I will email you no later than 1 day prior to the CARDS & BINGO date this month.
• I will also include the YOU TUBE LIVE LINK in that email - you will click on the link at the time listed above and enjoy your stamping class with some BINGO fun!
• Please go to YouTube now to create an account with them if you do not have one. It's just like creating an account with Facebook or any other website. You must have an account in order to comment on a video.
• Once you complete the form below - you'll receive a PAYPAL invoice and payment of that invoice will confirm your registration.

How stinkin' adorable is this? Use a black marker to turn the Hippo from Hippest Hippos into a cow!

These cards are quick and easy - I wiped up 10 of them for a swap using the CELEBRATE EVERYTHING DESIGNER SERIES PAPER. The Hippos & Hippo dies are free with a $50 order until August 31st.

• Basic White Think - 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” scored at 4 1/4”

This is a FLOATING PANEL CARD - it looks really hard but it's NOT!

I used the RINGS OF LOVE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER - free with a $50 order - and the RINGED WITH NATURE bundle. This is one of those bundles with the HYBRID embossing folders - you can emboss and die cut the tree rings at the same time - WOW! So cool!

I stamped the mushrooms on the inside panel for a little fun - Poppy Parade and Soft Suede Ink.

OH MY - we had a whole bunch of fun tonight! Here's a classic layout that's quick & easy! You can make a whole bunch of these cards with one sheet of Designer Series Paper - so fun right? I used the HUES OF HAPPINESS DESIGNER SERIES PAPER - so pretty!

My card kit for this month uses the HAPPINESS ABOUNDS bundle - you'll find all the details here: HAPPINESS ABOUNDS CARD KIT

Dimensions:

• Daffodil Delight 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” & 5/8” x 5 1/2"
• Melon Mambo 4” x 5 1/2” & 1/2” x 5 1/2”
• Basic White 4” x 5 1/4” & 2 @ 2 1/8” x 4 1/8”
• Hues of Happiness DSP 2 @ 2” x 4” & 1/2” x 5 1/4”

Here's the inside - this one has a sentiment stamped in it - the one in the video uses one of the die cut flowers on the inside as a decoration.

And here's a fun fold that easy to make - it's called a CRISS CROSS CARD. I used the DESIGN A DAYDREAM DESIGNER SERIES PAPER for this card. The base is Blackberry Bliss and the sentiment comes from CHARMING SENTIMENTS.

Dimensions:

• Blackberry Bliss 11” x 4 1/4” scored at 5 1/2” & scrap
• Design A Daydream DSP 4” x 5 1/4” & 1/2” x 5 1/4”
• Basic White 4” x 5 1/4” & scrap

HAPPINESS ABOUNDS is a gorgeous suite! Learn how to use the dies to cut out flowers and leaves from the beautiful HUES OF HAPPINESS DESIGNER SERIES PAPER!

I love the SUNNY SPLASH stamp set - so perfect for fun summer cards! I love the retro style. I used Blending Brushes to add color to the SILVER & GOLD 6"  x 6" SPECIALTY PAPER - this pack of 24 sheets is FREE with your $50 order until August 31st - it's part of our Sale-a-Bration promotion.
