Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Cling Wrap Background

Welcome to the APRIL Totally Techniques Blog Hop! We are featuring a technique using CLING WRAP to create backgrounds!

I love using things around the house to enhance my stamping - cling wrap is so much fun! And it's easy!!! Love the watercolor look when the inks bleed.

This is an oldie but a goodie - it's a technique that I used many years ago. I chose to use the SENDING SMILES bundle - this is a BRAND NEW one coming out on May 3rd in our Annual Catalog - also NEW! So exciting. So as long as I was using a new bundle I might as well use some brand new In Colors too right? I chose the Orchid Oasis for my card base and the ink in my technique. I also used Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide inks - also new!

Dimensions:

• Orchid Oasis 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”
• Basic Black 4 7/8” x 3 5/8”
• Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper 4 3/4” x 3 1/2”
• Basic White 4” x 5 1/4”
• Scraps: Orchid Oasis, Basic Black & Basic White

One of my favorite little tidbits with White Embossing Powder is the ability to change the color with a Stampin' Blend Marker - squeal!!! You can make it any color you have - love the matching! The new In Colors also come in our alcohol markers - my favorite coloring medium!

This card uses Sweet Sorbet with the Parakeet Party and Orchid Oasis - all new In Colors.

Which color combo do you like better? I think I'm leaning towards the Orchid Oasis - but the Sweet Sorbet is a super happy color too!

We had a whole bunch of fun tonight with an OVER THE TOP fun fold!!! It's a TRI-FOLD POP UP CARD and I can't wait to give it to my Anna for her birthday next weekend! She's going to love it! 

I used the gorgeous FLOWING FLOWERS stamp set and the retiring PLAYFUL ALPHABET dies and the retiring ORNATE LAYERS dies. I'm going to miss both of these! The Playful Alphabet dies are on sale!!! Regularly  $34 - now $27.20. I used Gray Granite and Orchid Oasis cardstock. The Orchid comes out in the new ANNUAL CATALOG - available May 3rd. It's so gorgeous!!!

Cutting & Scoring:  

• Misty Moonlight - (card base) 5 1/2” x 10”; score/fold @ 4-1/4” & 8 1/2”, (mini card) 3” x 7”; score/fold @3 1/2”
• DSP - (layer 1) 4” x 5 1/4”, (layer 2) 1 1/4” x 5 1/4”, (layer 3) 3 1/4” x 2 3/4”
• Basic White - (layer 1) 3” x 2 1/2”, (inside layer 1) 4” x 5 1/4”, (inside layer 2) 3 1/4” x 2 3/4”
• Scraps - Basic White 

Instructions:

• Stamp flower bouquet in Basic Gray ink on scrap of Basic White and die cut with coordinating die.
• Stamp sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White layer 1 in bottom right corner.
• Fold & burnish card base. Flap should be on right side. Fold & burnish front card (opening will be on right side).
• Adhere DSP layer 1 to front of card base & DSP layer 2 to front of card base flap.
• Adhere DSP layer 3 to front of mini card & Basic White layer 1 on top of DSP.
• With card front closed & flap open, adhere mini card to card base front centered.
• Close card (mini card should close over flap) and wrap ribbon approximately 24” of ribbon around card. Use glue dots to adhere to the back of the card base and 1 glue dot on the mini card front left side.
• Attach flower bouquet to left side of mini card front using dimensionals
• Stamp/decorate inside layer as desired and adhere to inside of card.
• Embellish with Champagne Rhinestones as desired.
• Close card by tying ribbon in a bow.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop - Anything Goes!

 

Welcome to the February Stamper's Dozen Blog hop where we are working with an ANYTHING GOES theme! I am so excited to share a couple fun cards with you using the GUMBALL GREETINGS BUNDLE! You'll find a step by step video tutorial here:

How fun are these? This little GUMBALL GREETINGS BUNDLE is a blast! I've made so many cards with it! I used Flirty Flamingo and Bermuda Bay for this card. The tags are punched out of Brights 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper and topped with white baker's twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.

I added a 3/4" strip of the DSP to spruce up the inside of my card.

Dimensions:

• Flirty Flamingo 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
• Bermuda Bay 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
• Basic White 3 3/4" x 5" & 4" x 5 1/4" & scrap
• Brights 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper 2 @ 2" x 4" & 3/4" x 4"

The Delightful Tag Topper Punch has three channels that allow you to make a 2", a 1 1/2" and a 1" tag - ALL WITH ONE PUNCH! This punch is on sale for $18.40 and retiring. Regularly priced at $23.00. The other tag punch I used is called a Fancy Tag Punch - it's also retiring and on sale for $11.50 - regularly $23.00.

I made a couple more of the same card. This one is Granny Apple Green and Pacific Point.

And tis one is Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana.

One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop - JUST BLEND IT

Thank you for joining me for the ONE STAMP AT A TIME BLOG HOP! Our theme this month is JUST BLEND IT....I love blending! There are a few different techniques that involve blending...we have the Stampin' Blend Markers (those are super fun) and we have Blending Brushes. I chose to use the Blending Brushes today for a fun technique that I know you'll love! Learn all about it here:

I hope you enjoyed my video. Below are photos and a FREE download you can print or save to your device for this card. I love the GUMBALL GREETINGS BUNDLE and thought the polka dot Decorative Mask from the BASIC PATTERNS pack was perfect for a fun background. I chose Fresh Freesia for my card base and ink color - another fun one right?

 

I got a little creative with my brad on the turning mechanism - I needed a silver brad so I dipped it in the VersaMark Ink and heat set it with Silver Embossing Powder to create my own - crafty people can't be stopped by something like this!

I love the little slot opening - a cute message in there is sure to bring a smile.

Decorative masks are so fun - you can make a background for your cards with any color of ink! I used the Basic Patterns - we have 3 packs of these:

• 150697 Basic Patterns (RETIRING)
• 155553 Plenty of Patterns (RETIRING)

I hope you'll give this blending with masks a try - it's so easy and there are so many possibilities!

We had a whole bunch of fun tonight with some pretty spring cards!!!

Here is a BRIDGE CARD fun fold! I received a swap card from one of my team members and had to share it with you! Thank you Dani Gurrola! I love this! It uses the FLOWERING FIELDS SUITE! This includes two bundles - FLOWERING TULIPS BUNDLE and the TULIP FIELDS BUNDLE. WHOA right? So pretty! You'll find both bundles down below in PRODUCT LIST. You can order them both with one item code and include all the fabulous goodies in the suite (ribbon, brass butterflies and DSP - #157685 for $126.75.

Here's the back - a panel to write on with a 1/2" strip of DSP.

This fun fold is so easy and it has such a big WOW factor! The line of tulips die is the perfect addition to the "bridge" don't you think?

And the BRIDGE FOLD card lays flat for mailing - SO COOL!

And here is the CRISSCROSS FUN FOLD! Another really easy card that has a great WOW factor!  You just cut the front of the card off from corner to score line, add the designer series paper and glue the piece back on. I chose to make an Easter card with the EASTER FRIENDS stamp set - can't wait to send this out! This is a great stamp set to make baby cards too. The WHITE FRAYED RIBBON is so fun! I frays to make a really fun element.
