And now for a FUN FOLD - MY FAVORITE KIND OF CARD! I'm calling this a FAUX Center Step card. It's much easier than the original Center Step card. You're going to love it - please watch the video so you can see how super simple this layout is!

I chose the ON THE HORIZON BUNDLE and NEW HORIZONS 6" X 6" DESIGNER SERIES PAPER. These watercolor prints are absolutely gorgeous!!! And the stamp set is perfect with little accents to tuck in to the scenes on the paper.

Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Split Front Technique

Welcome to the February Totally Techniques Blog Hop! We are featuring a layout technique this month called SPLIT FRONT. Watch my video tutorial to get some great tips and a step by step tutorial to make both of my cards today:

I have some really fun and colorful cards for you today! I chose to use the KITE DELIGHT stamp set with the SUNSHINE & RAINBOWS DESIGNER SERIES PAPER - FREE with a $50 order. The Split Front technique is simple and I love that you get a template from your first card so there is no more measuring once you've made one! Easy peasy!!!!

The WOBBLE under the kite is a big WOW for an already cheerful card right? And those IRIDESCENT RHINESTONES are so sparkly!

Here's the inside with just a 1/2" strip of the DSP to add a little inside WOW.

This is the measuring/cutting template - once you make one you can just use that center piece to trace your future SPLIT FRONT cards - WHOO HOO!

My second card is just the opposite of the first layout. I love stamping on designer series paper to have a fun pattern on the kite. And of course this kite has a WOBBLE under it too!

I stamped the kite tail right on the white layer this time and colored them with the Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blend Marker.

ISLAND VIBES is one of those stamp sets that is sometimes overlooked. I love the pineapple and the leaves in this set! I used the TASTEFUL LABELS DIES for the pineapple and cut  where the label goes over the pineapple to make my pineapple taller! A fun little technique. The MARBELOUS DSP is such pretty paper - the stamp set and DSP are free with a $50 order.

Here's the same card in two different colors - pretty right?

And the inside is stamped with the leaves. I used Gray Granite ink with the same color card base and sentiment layer.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop - Cactus Cuties

Welcome to the February Stamper's Dozen Blog hop where we are working with an ANYTHING GOES theme! I am so excited to share a couple fun cards with you using the CACTUS CUTIES BUNDLE - I love a bundle with a punch! You'll find a step by step video tutorial here:

How cute are these? I love a PUNCH BUNDLE!!! Punches are quick and easy! And I thought the striped embossing folder from the STRIPES & SPLATTERS 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER combo was perfect for the cactus cards. 

What do you think about the black cactus - different right? I really like the pop of color with the MAGENTA MADNESS flowers and sentiment layer. I also like the black & white patterned paper from the PATTERN PARTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER. This paper is featured in the Annual Catalog on page 171. It's available in 12" x 12" and you get 4 of each sheet. This pack is fabulous - black and white patterns on one side and bold, bright colored prints on the other. This paper is available for you to choose when your order is over $150 - you'll get $15 in Stampin' Rewards that you can spend on anything - but it's the only time you can get HOST EXCLUSIVE products shown on pages 170 & 171. And the whole pack is only $18 - you just pay the difference of $3. I love this paper!

I used the TASTEFUL LABELS DIES for my white layer. I stamped my planter with Coastal Cabana ink, cactus' with Memento Black and punched them with the CACTUS BUILDER PUNCH. They are glued onto the label.

The inside has a 1/2" strip of embossed Coastal Cabana cardstock for a little inside decorating.

This card is an easel card - it was designed by my team member Priscella - I fell in love with the colors and of course the FUN FOLD element and knew I had to share it with you. Every month my team members have the opportunity to participate in a card swap. These are so much fun! Whether they have joined as a discount shopper or they are building a business - they love to get these ideas and share theirs. 

Here is the card propped up with the inside sentiment - that large Happy Birthday is from the SLIM SAYINGS stamp set and stamped in Old Olive ink.

The SLIDING LATCH CARD is not only a fun fold but it's also a MOVING CARD - very cool! I chose the DRIVING BY stamp set - FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a $50 order. I also used the oh so bright and beautiful SUNSHINE & RAINBOWS DSP - also FREE with a $50 order - for some really fun cards!

Here's the first one - I used the LAYERING CIRCLE DIES with a Basic White layer and a Basic Black scalloped layer. My circle is about 2" - you just need the side that your element (in this case the VW bug van) will fit on. The DSP layer on the right side smaller panel is cut at a diagonal. I measure 1" from the left side and cut down to the point of the bottom left.

Then I used the long skinny STITCHED RECTANGLE DIE to make my channel for the sliding mechanism on the left & the right. See video tutorial to learn how I did this.

Dimensions:

• Basic Black 5 1/2" x 10 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" & 8 1/2" & scrap
• Sunshine & Rainbows DSP 4" x 5 1/4" & 1 3/4" x 5 1/4" & 1/2" x 5 1/4"
• Basic White 4" x 5 1/4" & scrap

Here's the other pattern I used for my sample - I always make a sample so I know what I'm doing...LOL! It's not always fool proof but I find that I have a little better success when I am explaining it to you. I added a triple bow from Linen Thread to my circle.

I hope you enjoyed my video. I chose to use Daffodil Delight for my card base and Tailor Made Tag die - I really wanted a bright and colorful card. And don't you love those BRUSHED BRASS BUTTERFLIES? Just a tiny bit of bling on the tag.

This is a great combo - I can't hardly wait to gift these. The double dipped chocolate covered peanuts in such a cute package will be a big hit. And don't forget that you can color the Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon any color you want with your STAMPIN' BLEND MARKERS.

My friend is going to love these!

I love the scenery cards you can create with the GRASSY GROVE Bundle! This is such a gorgeous one. I used Night of Navy for my card base with the NEW HORIZONS 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper - sooooo amazing! I have an online class using this bundle - you'll find all the details HERE.

How fun is this? It's called a TEE PEE FUN FOLD card and it looks really complicated but it's quite simple! I hope you'll give it a try! I used the FREE FRIENDLY HELLO Designer Series Paper and FRIENDLY HELLO stamp set. You can get both when your order reaches $100 before 2/28 - this bundle is included in our Sale-a-Bration promotion - WHOO HOO! I used the TAILOR MADE TAGS DIES for my label. And the white baker's twine from the BAKER'S TWINE ESSENTIALS PACK - 5 colors of twine in one pack - outstanding!

Dimensions:

• Cardstock 3 @ 4" x 4" scored diagonally
• Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper 2 @ 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" cut diagonally (you need 3 triangles)
• Designer Series Paper for feet 2 @ 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" (you need 3 triangles)
• Pool Party scrap for tag & Basic White for flowers

View from the bottom:

Adhere panels together according to instructions in video. Add the DSP triangles as shown below. Add label and flowers making sure they do not go over the left edge - if they do, you will not be able to get your card in an envelope. Add velcro closure.
