Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Die Cut Spotlight

Welcome to the January TOTALLY TECHNIQUES DESIGN TEAM blog hop! We are all featuring the Die Cut Spotlight technique! This is a fabulous technique that allows you to highlight a small portion of your stamped image! I have a video tutorial to show you how I did it here:

I had so much fun making this Die Cut Spotlight technique card. I chose a circle from the Layering Circles Dies but any shape would work for your featured spotlight.

You can modify any punch by using this technique: 

Love this designer series paper - so bright and fresh!

This card uses the Petal Pink print:

Dimensions:

• Basic White Thick 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
• Basic White 3 1/4" X 4 1/2"
• Basic Black 3 3/8" x 4 5/8"
• Friendly Hello DSP 4" x5 1/4"
• Petal Pink or Pool Party scrap for tag
• 2 1/2" x 6" DSP for envelope flap

A 1/2" strip on the inside is the perfect decoration to add a little something.

This photo shows the glimmer on the flowers with the Wink of Stella:

Here are the cards from tonight.

The first is this fun card using the AWESOME OTTERS stamp set! The layout was designed by my friend Laurie. She makes fun cards. This is one of the stamp sets and designer series paper packs you can get FREE when you order $50 or more before the end of February. Highland Heather cardstock with the Marbelous Designer Series Paper - so pretty right?

Dimensions:

• Highland Heather 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" & 4 1/2" x 3 1/2"
• Simply Marbelous DSP 4 3/8" x 3 3/8"
• Subtles DSP 4 3/8" x 3 3/8"
• Basic White 4" x 5 1/4"

The Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials are perfect water droplets - I colored them with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blend Marker before I put them on the water.

How fun are these EXPANDING ACCORDION CARDS? They really aren't hard to make and you can adjust the number of accordions with different greetings - like HELLO. That would be fun! I used the SUNSHINE & RAINBOWS DSP - FREE with at $50 order by 2/28. There's no limit to the number of DSP packs you can get. This paper is so fun! I used the Flowers for Every Season for the ribbon to tie my card closed. You will need a larger envelope to mail this card.

Dimensions:

• Accordian layers - 11" x 5 1/2" & 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" - score every 3/4" and adhere the two panels together for HAPPY BIRTHDAY
• Front & Back 2 @ 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
• Granny Apple Green or Bermuda Bay 4 @ 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
• DSP 4 @ 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
• DSP for letter panels 13 @ 1 1/2" x 2"
• Basic White 3" x 3 3/4"

I used the sentiment from the HAPPIEST OF BIRTHAYS - one of my favorite birthday sets - with Bermuda Bay Ink.

Here are the cards from tonight.

The first is this fun WATERFALL FUN FOLD using the AWESOME OTTERS stamp set! This is one of the sets you can get FREE when you order $50 or more before the end of February. You can find all the FREE items available for our Sale-a-Bration promotion HERE.

There are four panels of fun in a WATERFALL card. I colored my otters with Stampin' Blends. I used Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue and Just Jade Stampin' Blends to color the otters, water and fish. Aren't these so fun???

I think the otter in the water is my favorite!

I also made one in Coastal Cabana. Isn't that SIMPLY MARBELOUS DSP perfect for a WATER look? You can get a pack of it free with a $50 order too.

This just makes me happy!

And these are cute and simple - using the CACTUS CUTIES bundle - I love a matching punch! I used the Sweet Talk DSP for the stripes on the first card and the SUNSHINE & RAINBOWS DSP (FREE with a $50 order) for the 2nd card. Both are super cute right? The THANKS & HELLO EMBOSSING FOLDERS were perfect for this card!

Here's the THANKS & HELLO embossing folders - these are FABULOUS to add just a bit of dimension!

Don't forget to decorate your envelope and the inside of your card!

In with the NEW! Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop

Welcome to the January Stamper's Dozen Blog hop where we are working with a IN WITH THE NEW theme! I am so excited to share a couple beautiful cards with you using the EXCLUSIVE HOST SET called CALMING CAMELLA. You'll find a step by step video tutorial here:

I chose the HEART & HOME designer series paper with several different patterns of whitewashed wood on one side and pretty colored prints on the other. I love the shabby chic look and this has it!

The TAILOR  MADE TAGS are perfect for the double tag featured on the front of my card. These will be back in the warehouse the week of 1/24.

I used Magenta Madness for the fun layer with the scalloped border on the top and bottom. That border is part of the die set - so many fun elements in this one.

And those adorable SWEET LITTLE BOXES (item #157628) are so easy to assemble and come with the adhesive strips so you don't even need any glue to put them together. You get 10 in a pack for $10.

Here's the inside - I added a 3/4" strip of the DSP.

This little box just makes me HAPPY! I love the pop of white embossing on the Basic Black label die - and that twine was the perfect embellishment to tie it all together.

SHAVING CREAM TECHNIQUE - so fun! I used Bermuda Bay & Highland Heather ink refills to swirl in my shaving cream. Make sure you use the foamy cream and not the gel cream - that won't work. I used the NUTS & BOLTS stamp set for my cards - such cute little robots - NEW in the JJ Mini catalog.

Dimensions:

• Basic White Thick 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
• Basic Back 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" & 1" x 5 1/2"
• Basic White 4" x 3" & Scrap
• Highland Heather scrap

I love making cards in different colors - get more for you time when you mix and match colors with the same layout.

The SWEET LITTLE BOXES (157628) come 10 in a pack for $10 - they are so easy to put together and you saw how easy they are to decorate!

• Sweet Talk DSP 2 @ 2 3/8" x 3 3/8" & 1/2" strips

Isn't this little label charming? I love it! I used the HAPPY & HEARTFELT sentiment set - NEW - with the MESSAGES DIE.

I just love this card. Don't forget to add DSP to your envelope flaps - really makes a difference.

Join me for CARDS & BINGO on Wednesday, January 19th. I'll be demonstrating 5 cards LIVE and we'll be playing STAMPIN' BINGO in between! SUPER FUN! Pre-register now - packets will be limited.

DATE: Wednesday, January 19

TIME: 8 pm eastern time; 7 pm central; 6 pm mountain; 5 pm pacific time

COST: $35

LOCATION: YOU TUBE LIVE - LINK will be posted closer to the 1/19 class date

DEADLINE:  Monday, January 17th - supplies are limited!

WHAT'S INCLUDED

• You must register for the make-n-take packet to play. It will include cardstock layers to make 5 cards!
• You'll receive products worth $15-$20 in your make-n-take packet!
• Four games of bingo in between 5 card demonstrations.
• Below you'll find stamp sets that I'll be using for the CARD CLASS. You can add them onto your registration if you don't have them. Or you can use your own stamp sets of similar size/theme - it's up to you.

OTHER TIDBITS

• I'll email you a link (it will also be posted on my blog and Facebook) to a LIVE YOU TUBE video.
• You will click on the video link at the time shown above (your time zone) to join the LIVE.
• The YouTube Live Video will be available to replay over and over!
• Registration for the make-n-take packet is only available to US participants.
• Make-n-take packets will be shipped after the event, including add on products.
• Prizes will be based on how many register for the card class - the more playing, the bigger the prizes!
• The cards pictured above are just for advertising purposes - we will not be making them.

HOW TO PLAY

• You will choose 5 numbers between 1-25. You will list those numbers on your registration form. Please write them down so you know them.
• I will email you no later than 1 day prior to the CARDS & BINGO date this month.
• I will also include the YOU TUBE LIVE LINK in that email - you will click on the link at the time listed above and enjoy your stamping class with some BINGO fun!
• Please go to YouTube now to create an account with them if you do not have one. It's just like creating an account with Facebook or any other website. You must have an account in order to comment on a video.
• Once you complete the form below - you'll receive a PAYPAL invoice and payment of that invoice will confirm your registration.
