WOW! So much color! These cards remind me to the flowers I planted this weekend. So pretty! I chose to use my friend Dena's stamp set - PRETTY PERENNIALS and OH BOY - what fun! 

This card uses a burst of color with the PRETTY PERENNIALS DIES. This set is only available until June 30th or while supplies last. It's retiring.

One is Polished Pink and the other is Coastal Cabana.

And then I made a ONE SHEET WONDER for some fun NOTE CARDS! So easy and pretty!

Here's the template I used:

Don't forget to decorate your envelope too!

The 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Basic White layer is stamped up to make your own DSP. I also splattered it with a BASIC BLACK STAMPIN' WRITE MARKER.

I also used a little VELLUM CARDSTOCK for some of the die cut elements.

After you make the 6 note cards you'll have some pieces left over for 3" x 3" cards - perfect to attach to gift packages.

Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Layering Stencils

Welcome to the global May blog hop with the TOTALLY TECHNIQUES DESIGN TEAM - amazing Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all over the world! Today we are featuring a technique LAYERING STENCILS - what? YEP - we are layering them! Check out my snippet - so fun and easy! My sentiment comes from the new Sunny Sentiments stamp set - full of great fonts and greetings.

I chose to use some new stencils in combination with the Pierced Blooms Dies for a pretty flower accent. The new stencils are called Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks. Since we had to "layer" the stencils - I made my own out of a little flower die and used that to create the bright yellow (Daffodil Delight) flowers on the background and then stenciled over the entire layer using Blending Brushes and the scallop stencil. So quick and easy!

I decorated the inside with a strip of stenciled Basic White on Basic Black. That really adds a lot right?

Dimensions:

• Card base (Daffodil Delight) 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
• Basic White 3 3/4" x 5", 3/4" x 4" & 4" x 5 1/4" & scrap
• Basic Black 5 1/8" x 3 7/8", 1" x 4" & scrap
• Daffodil Delight scrap

 

 

The Plenty of Patterns comes with 4 different stencils - shown below. I can't hardly wait to use the rest of them!

Creative Inking Blog Hop - New Catalog Goodies

Welcome to the Creative Inking Blog Hop for May! The design team is featuring NEW CATALOG GOODIES today! OH MY! I chose to use the SENDING HUGS bundle with the PATTERN PARTY DSP - an amazing value and only available with Stampin' Rewards. You'll get all the details in the video here:

These are fun and easy to make! The card on the left is made with the die as the focal point and the card on the right uses the stamp set as the focal point - what a great combination! 

This is a quick one to whip up and who doesn't want a HUG card? I added a piece of the PATTERN PARTY DSP to the envelope flap - jazz those up - it's so fun to see that pop of color when the mailbox is opened! The piece is 2 1/2" x 6" and trimmed from the back so you can use the envelope flap as a cutting guide.

Dimensions:

• Mango Melody 11" x 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2"
• Crumb Cake 4" x 5 1/4"
• Basic White 4" x 5 1/4"
• Pattern Party DSP 3/4" x 4" & 1 3/4" x 4"
• Envelope Flap 6" x 2 1/2"

The inside has a 3/4" strip of the DSP - this is a great way to use up all those strips we save...OH I know you do too!

And then a little Night of Navy for the die cut HUGS is from the layer under the DSP. I love this color with the Coastal Cabana card base!

Another quick and easy card with a lot of WOW factor! I used the Pale Papaya ribbon on this one - it just matched so perfectly!

• Night of Navy 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop - New Catalog Favorites

Welcome to the May Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! We are featuring NEW catalog favorites today. I chose the Expressions in Ink suite -  absolutely love the water color images, gorgeous dies and that designer series paper - OH MY GOODNESS! Combined with the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack you can't lose! I'm making a couple simple cards today - simple because the designer series paper and die cuts do all the work - making these cards quick and easy. Watch my video tutorial for some great tips:

WOW right? So easy and so gorgeous! I am in love!

Here's a close up that really shows off that gold foil veining and the sentiment outline - a die cut from the Ephemera pack:

Sometimes intricate dies can really do the trick. I think these leaves are elegant and easy at the same time. The gold trim from the Simply Elegant Trim combo pack is the perfect embellishment. And the sentiment outline is part of the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack - you get 5 sheets of gold foil with 10 dies on each and 100 adhesive-backed sequins! All that for $7!

Don't forget to add some DSP to your envelope flaps - keep the classy going!

• Basic White Thick 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
• Expressions in Ink DSP 4" x 5 1/4" & 3/4" x 5 1/2"

My sentiment on this one is from Sunny Sentiments - a new stamp set in the Annual Catalog.

I love the small pops of gold foil that match the gold foil veining in the DSP. So classy!

• Expressions in Ink DSP 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" & 1 1/2" x 4"

I used Shaded Spruce and Polished Pink - one of the NEW In Colors for my sentiments.

Aren't these pretty? And they are so easy - make that DSP work for you!

One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop - Mash Up

Welcome to the May One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop! We are featuring a MASH UP this month - combining some items we already have with new Annual Catalog products - oh what fun! You'll find a video tutorial for a super fun fold that looks really complicated but isn't - check it out here:

Aren't these fun? I challenge you to try making one - they really look complicated but they're quit simple.

I used Misty Moonlight for the card base and the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper with the Beauty of Friendship bundle - so amazing!

Here's the back panel that I will write my message on:

Dimensions:

• Card base: 8 1/8" x 5 1/2" scored at 1", 2" & 3" from each side
• Cut at 7/8" & 1 7/8" from top between the score lines on each side
• Designer paper layers at the top & bottom are 7/8" x 4"
• Designer paper layers on side panels 7/8" x 5 3/8"
• Middle layer 3" x 3" with layer on top at 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
• Panel to write on back 2" x 5 1/4"

Here's the bare card base:

This card base is Cinnamon Cider and the envelope uses a 2 1/2" x 6" DSP layer on the flap.

Here's the back:

The treat box uses 3 1/8" x 3 1/8" Acetate Card Boxes - you get 10 of them for $7. What a GREAT deal! I used a piece of the Beauty of the Earth DSP 2" x 10 1/2" and put both ends together to punch with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. Tie a double bow with the Crumb Cake Baker's Twine from the Essentials Pack in the top of the tag. Fill your box with something that coordinates with the paper. My blue candies are blueberry flavored Jelly Bellys.

I can't wait to send these out - so fun right?

I hope you love this set of cards as much as I do! It was so fun and easy to make. The COLOR & CONTOUR BUNDLE has some line are that has a whimsical feel with some fabulous fonts with the sentiments. I paired it up with the HAND-PENNED DESIGNER SERIES PAPER - so pretty!!!

These cards are so easy aren't they? The paper does almost all the work!

Card Dimensions:

• Card base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" & scrap
• Basic Black 3 1/4" x 5 1/2"
• Hand-Penned DSP 3" x 5 1/2"

I recommend you make this box with some scrap cardstock just to get the hang of it - before you bring out your TOP SHELF stuff *wink wink!

What a pretty gift right? I chose my colors based on the Hand-Penned DSP coordinating colors listed. I used the same ink and cardstock colors - So Saffron ink and So Saffron cardstock, etc.

For the box you'll need to cut and score your cardstock as shown below.

2 pieces @ 7” x 5 3/4” (front) - With the 5 3/4" side at the top - score at 1" on the left & bottom of the left piece and the right & bottom of the right piece. Cut from score line to score line at a diagonal as shown.

1 piece @ 7” x 6 3/4” (back) - with 6 3/4" side at the top - score at 1" on the left, right and bottom. Cut at tabs and create box back.
1 piece DSP @ 2" x 12”

The finished box size is 6" x  4 3/4" x 1" - prefect to hold 7-8 cards and envelopes!

• OTHER – Penned Flowers Dies (155557), Scalloped Contours Dies (155560), Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack (155478), Rhinestone Basic Jewels (144220), Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430) Seal Adhesive (152813)

Cutting & Scoring: 

• Soft Succulent – 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, score at 4 1/4”, 4” x 5 1/4”
• Vellum – 4” x 5 1/4”
• Basic White – 4” x 5 1/4”, scraps

Instructions:

• Stamp flower image on white scrap in black ink. Stamp solid flower in Polished Pink and leaves in Soft Succulent. Die cut with coordinating die.
• Die cut large scalloped frame from Vellum.
• Stamp sentiments on scrap of white in black ink and trim as shown.
• Use brush tip end of dark Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blend to draw lines on Soft Succulent layer (use the side of the tip).
• Adhere Vellum to Soft Succulent layer using Seal (tip – only put adhesive where the flower will be). Wrap white Baker’s Twine twice around layers and tie in a bow. Add to card front with dimensionals.
• Attach flower and sentiment using dimensionals.
• Color rhinestones with dark Polish Pink Stampin’ Blend and add to card as desired.

Did you know that we have an ONLINE COLOR COACH???? I KNOW!!!! I love using this amazing tool to determine my color combinations - sometimes when I look at the suggested color combo - I'm like WHAT? But then I make a card with it and BOOM - the colors look fabulous together! Here's what the cards will look like when you print them:

Questions & Answers:

• Do I print these and sell them? Nope - if you don't have a printer you can take your phone to a print shop and pull up my blog post and have them print the pages for you.
• How will you punch your holes since the punch board in the video is retired? You can use a 3 hole punch for perfect placement.
• Where do I get the ring to put the cards on? Any office supply store will have these rings.
• Should I laminate the cards? YES - if you can. They will last forever.
• Do I have an updated list of color labels? Unfortunately I do not.

May Cards & Bingo Registration is OPEN!

CARDS & BINGO ONLINE CLASS

I'll be demonstrating 5 cards LIVE and we'll be playing STAMPIN' BINGO in between! SUPER FUN! Pre-register now - packets will be limited.

DATE: Wednesday, May 26

TIME: 8 pm eastern time; 7 pm central; 6 pm mountain; 5 pm pacific time

COST: $35

LOCATION: YOU TUBE LIVE - LINK will be posted closer to the 5/26 class date

DEADLINE: Wednesday, May 19th at 8 PM central time

WHAT'S INCLUDED

• You must register for the make-n-take packet to play. It will include cardstock layers to make 5 cards!
• You'll receive products worth $15-$20 in your make-n-take packet!
• Four games of bingo in between 5 card demonstrations.
• Below you'll find stamp sets that I'll be using for the first CARDS & BINGO CLASS (coming soon). You can add them onto your registration if you don't have them. Or you can use your own stamp sets of similar size/theme - it's up to you.

OTHER TIDBITS

• I'll email you a link (it will also be posted on my blog and Facebook) to a LIVE YOU TUBE video.
• You will click on the video link at the time shown above (your time zone) to join the LIVE.
• The YouTube Live Video will be available to replay over and over!
• Registration for the make-n-take packet is only available to US participants.
• Make-n-take packets will be shipped after the event, including prizes & add on products.
• Prizes will be based on how many register for the card class - the more playing, the bigger the prizes!
• The cards pictured above are just for advertising purposes - we will not be making them.

HOW TO PLAY

• You will choose 5 numbers between 1-25. You will list those numbers on your registration form. Please write them down so you know them.
• I will email you no later than 1 day prior to the CARDS & BINGO date this month.
• I will also include the YOU TUBE LIVE LINK in that email - you will click on the link at the time listed above and enjoy your stamping class with some BINGO fun!
• Please go to YouTube now to create an account with them if you do not have one. It's just like creating an account with Facebook or any other website. You must have an account in order to comment on a video.
• Once you complete the form below - you'll receive a PAYPAL invoice and payment of that invoice will confirm your registration.
