A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Beary Comforting

Welcome to the IT'S A PAPER PUMPKIN THING blog hop for December featuring the BEARY COMFORTING kit. I made two alternate projects with this kit - so adorable! 

My first alternate project uses the adorable koala's - I've heard they are not suppose to be called bears - they are MARSUPIALS! Glad we have that cleared up - LOL! I used the Little Details Embossing Folder on the Gold Foil layer under the Koala's for some fun texture.

 

I am sending this out with a little desktop calendar on it. You can get these at www.vippies.com - I like the LARGE ones. Add a layer of Rich Razzleberry under the calendar for a mat and to make it pop a little bit. The Rich Razzleberry card base is 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2". The easel on the inside is 4 1/4" x 3" scored at 1/2", 1 1/2" & 2 1/2". This will hold the card together so it will stand up for an entire year! I thought the Forever Greenery gold twine was perfect and tied a bow with it to attache to the middle of the bottom heart. The #HANDMADE stamp is from a brand new set coming out Jan 5th called HANDMADE FOR YOU. 

And my 2nd project is just an adorable card. I used the Gold Foil Sheets again for the strip behind the die cut circle. 

A little bow with the gold twine from the Forever Greenery twine is perfect right?

Last week I shared this fun and easy gift card holder for Christmas. Today I'm using the same winter themed paper for a birthday card! I love the versatility of printed papers and wanted to confirm that some of our Christmas designer series paper is not just for CHRISTMAS!

You'll find all the supplies used to make this card in the SHOPPING LIST down below.

• Snowflake Splendor DSP 5 1/2" x 11" scored at 4 1/4", 5 1/2" & 6 3/4" on the long side
• Belly Band 1 3/4" x 9 1/2"
• Colored layer - Highland Heather (inside) 3 3/4" x 5"

I am so excited to be sharing these TOWER CALENDARS!!! They are so cool! I found a couple different versions online and chose some bright and colorful designer series paper to make mine! One base is White and the other MAGENTA MADNESS. I layered with Calypso Coral on the left and Gorgeous Grape on the right. Aren't they fun?

Dimensions:

• Base 2 @ 8 1/2" x 11" scored at 4" & 8" on the short side
• Calendar layers 12 @ 3 1/4" x 2 1/2"
• DSP 4 @ 10 3/4" x 3 1/2"

This tower is Magenta Madness with Gorgeous Grape calendar layers. I used the Heart Punch Pack with the ARTISTRY BLOOMS DSP and Gorgeous Grape. RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME is where the sentiment is coming from.

Here's a view from the top. These are pretty substantial in size.

I get my little calendars from www.vippies.com. I buy the LARGE size.

This one uses WHISPER WHITE THICK cardstock for the base and Calypso Coral for the calendar layers. I used the DSP to stamp and punch the butterflies from the BUTTERFLY DUET punch and the LABEL ME LOVELY punch with Mango Melody for my sentiments.

Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Starburst Technique

Welcome to the Totally Techniques Design Team blog hop for December! We are all featuring the STARBURST TECHNIQUE this month. It's an easy technique that has such a wow factor! I have a video tutorial and all the details here:

The STARBURST TECHNIQUE is pretty spectacular right? And while it takes a little time to assemble - it's not hard and the end result is TOTALL Y WORTH IT! I designed my cards with the FEELS LIKE FROST DSP and PEACE & JOY BUNLE - both are retiring with this Holiday Mini Catalog on January 4th. I just ordered an extra pack of this gorgeous designer paper - I love the foil side, but the outdoor scenery side steals my heart.

The PEACE & JOY BUNDLE makes for a spectacular greeting on the front. I love the 3 layers to the words. There are so many color combinations that I want to try!

Dimensions:

• Whisper White 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", 3 3/4" x 5"  & scrap
• Highland Heather 3 7/8" x 5 1/8", 1" x 5 1/2" & scrap
• Feels Like Frost DSP 6" x 1 1/2"

And just a little 3/4" strip of DSP on the inside with a 1" mat of Highland Heather adds so much charm doesn't it? It's a simple thing to do to take your cards to the next level.

These cards make me BRIGHT & HAPPY! I love the purples combined with the silver foil patterns.

Wait...WHAT? & Joke of the Week

I'm so excited to share my progress on my new STAMP STUDIO with you today! I had my TEAM CHRISTMAS PARTY last night (virtually - we played bingo, I demo'd 3 cards with brand new Spring Mini & Sale-a-Bration product, we showed off our ugly sweaters and fun head gear, and we shared dollar store hack ideas - we had so much fun! JOIN MY TEAM - you'll love it!) and I was able to give them a tour - just moved in yesterday! Things were still a bit messy but I was happy to share with them! BEFORE & AFTER'S:

Here's where it all started! You've heard me talk about it - this is my "dressing room." The wall with the closet is the one we knocked out (we - LOL - FRED did it!) between this room and a very little bedroom. This old house has - or should I say...HAD 5 bedrooms.

This is the little bedroom beyond the closet in the previous photo. The closet in this photo was enlarged to make my studio closet a nice big walk in closet. We called this room "the little purple room." No more little purple room.

Here's a view from both rooms with the wall knocked out.

The first photo shows the new flooring going in and the 2nd one shows the new walk-in closet wall.

And then my IKEA shopping spree!!! I couldn't get all the pieces that I wanted - IKEA is out of stock on several items - but I did pretty good!

And here we have Mr. Steve - can you feel the LOVE radiating from him as he assembles my IKEA haul??? He actually volunteered to do it - I was speechless! And I was giggling a tiny bit inside. I put all my IKEA furniture together for my last room and OH BOY - it is a time consuming endeavor. I really didn't feel like he knew how enormous that offer was! I was definitely feeling the LOVE.

And who else but a MAN would think to use the Pampered Chef trays (these are coating trays for things like chicken or fish) to keep all the bits and pieces in? LOL!!! Someone commented when I posted this photo on FB that they would never allow that. Funny thing...he picked out these trays from my party earnings and he's the cook in our house - they are his!

Mr. Steve said he was pleasantly surprised at how well the IKEA furniture is made and the fact that the instructions were easy to read and everything went together as it should. No missing pieces either! HAPPY ASSEMBLER!

And there's that smile! You know the one..."are you taking my picture again?" He yelled at me for getting such a substantial shelving unit for my closet. But in my defense...as I was looking at them online and picked one out - he said that it looked cheap and flimsy - don't buy junk! SO.....I got the one that will hold up to 650 lbs...LOL! No junk here! In the end - he said it was a very good shelf. Tee hee hee.

MORE TO COME!

I am in the process of getting everything moved in and set up. It's a complete mess right now - lots of work to do. Hailey is coming over on Saturday to help me arrange and decorate. Can't wait - she's really good at that...me...not so much! It's so nice to have various talents in the family right? My Anna and Stephanie are fabulous decorators too!

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop - Holiday Happenings

Welcome to the DECEMBER Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop - our theme for this month is HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS. And that leaves it wide open right? I Thought about this and decided that HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS is getting all the final details tied up - and I just happen to need a few more gift card holders. So that's what I'm sharing with you. I think you'll really like these - they are super easy and so spectacular! Check out my video here:

These are so easy and oh so spectacular right? I used Pacific Point cardstock and ink for this one. My snowflakes are stamped off once and the sentiments are full strength ink. I used the CLASSIC LABEL punch for the gift card/business card opening.

All of these were easy to coordinate with the solid colors. I used the coordinating colors listed on the DSP pack. 

This one uses Night of Navy cardstock and ink. My snowflakes are stamped with Balmy Blue.

The label on the front is from the STITCHED SO SWEETLY DIES - one of my favorites. 

Dimensions:

• Snowflake Splendor DSP 5 1/2" x 11" scored at 4 1/4", 5 1/2" & 6 3/4" on the long side
• Belly Band 1 3/4" x 9 1/2"

Here is a side view of the gift card holder - I used TEAR & TAPE to seal my little flap.

And last but not least is the Coastal Cabana one - I love this color combination!

The inside certainly has a pop doesn't it?

Label Me Lovely is the punch I used for the COFFEE sentiment layer - I love it peeking out from under the Basic Black embossed layer. It has a great "pop" effect on this card.

And then...how stinkin' cute is this ROUND TIN? You get 4 of these in a box. They are retiring with this Holiday Mini catalog. The item code is 153544.

I connected two strips of the Misty Moonlight DSP together (1" x 6") to make a long belly band. I stamped the cup with Memento Ink on the Cinnamon Cider DSP and cut it out and did the same with the white label - stamped in Misty Moonlight. Tie with the ribbon and attach the cut to the belly band with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

What a cute little gift set right?

I got a little carried away and made a card in each of the new In Colors - so cute in every color!

Here's a GREAT card made for Christmas with In the Pines - it's from a virtual group I belong to - isn't it fun?

 

Supplies:

• Stamp Sets – In the Pines Bundle (155182); Christmas Gleaming (150464)
• Card Stock – Thick Whisper White (140272); Whisper White (100730); Real Red (102482); Shaded Spruce (146981); Early Espresso (119686)
• Stamp Pads – Real Red (147084)
• Misc. – Pine Woods Die (153563); Happy Dies (152708); Red and Green Foil Sheets (153510); Gold Foil Sheets (132622); Red Rhinestones (146924); Dimensionals (104430); Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder (153576)

Measurements: 

• Thick Whisper White:     4 1/4 x 11” 
• Whisper White:       4 ¼” x 5 ½” and 2 ¾” x 4”
• Real Red:                 2 7/8” x 4 1/8”
• Shaded Spruce:             3” x 4 ¼” 

Instructions:

1. Emboss the 4 ¼” x 5 ½” Whisper White with the Evergreen 3D Embossing Folder and attach to the front of the card base.
2. Cut the Tree out of the 2 ¾” x 4” piece of Whisper White
3. Attach the Green Foil Piece to the back of the cut-out tree piece using adhesive, also attach a scrap of Early Espresso for the tree trunk.
4. Attach tree piece to the Real Red Piece with Dimensionals and then that to the Shaded Spruce mat using adhesive.
5. Using the stars from Happy Dies, cut out of Gold foil and attach the largest one to the top of the tree with adhesive.
6. Add Red Rhinestones as shown

I have a great gift idea - a Christmas Sampler that you can make with all your stamping goodies and a Shadow Frame. This one is 9" x 9" and I think I purchased it online (last year) from Michaels. My Real Red squares are 2 5/8" x 2 5/8" and the Whisper White layer is 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". I like to personalize my gifts by putting black and white photos of the family I'm gifting it to. The photos are cut 2 1/4" x 2 1/4". I go to their Facebook page and save photos from their gallery and then upload them to Walgreens Photo website to print.

Here are the samples that I demonstrated in this video:

Here's a matching card to go with the gift - I used the PERFECTLY PLAID bundle and embossed my Gold Foil Sheet with the SUBTLES embossing folder.

Dimensions:

• Whisper White Thick 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Scored at 4 1/4"
