A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Box of Sunshine

Welcome to the June Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop. We are featuring alternate ideas with the BOX OF SUNSHINE kit this month. This is one of my favorite kits - HANDS DOWN!!! Sit back and relax and have fun watching this video:

The Box of Sunshine Paper Pumpkin Kit includes 8 printed card bases—2 each of 4 designs—and envelopes, 2 sheets of black dotted die cuts, 1 sheet of white and gold die-cut sentiment labels, 5 sheets of brightly-colored die-cut fruit and sun shapes, 1 sheet of die-cut stickers to embellish the box of sunshine, 1 sheet of iridescent rhinestones, 1 sheet of adhesive dots, and 1 sheet of dimensionals. And, of course, the exclusive 8-piece Box of Sunshine Photopolymer Stamp Set and an Archival Black Stampin’ Spot!

 

Coordinating Stampin’ Up! Colors: Basic Black, Bumblebee, Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce, white, gold

I love the vibrant colors!!! They are gorgeous!

This card uses a technique called paper weaving. It was fun and I really like the retro look! The strips are 1/2" x 5 1/2". I used Basic Black, Gold Foil and Poppy Parade cardstock.

And then we have this beauty! Again very colorful and vibrant right? The only thing I added to make this card is a 3/4" strip of Shaded Spruce cardstock under the sentiment banner.

So fun!!! I can't wait to send this card to one of my friends - she's going to LOVE it!!!

Wait...WHAT? & Joke of the Week

I've shared the COLOR COACH with you before and today you'll be able to print the new In Color cards to add to your Color Coach. If you're new to the Color Coach - you'll find links to print both the new In Colors and all the Stampin' Up! color families. I love using this amazing tool to determine my color combinations - sometimes when I look at the suggested color combo - I'm like WHAT? But then I make a card with it and BOOM - the colors look fabulous together!

I used 2" Book Rings to keep my Color Coach contained. I printed it out on Whisper White cardstock to make it a little more sturdy. You can use anything to punch the holes. You could also cut it all up and take it to a print shop and have them punch the holes.

Don't forget to color the white flowers with Wink of Stella for a little bit of bling.

It's all about your MEN tonight!!! You can use these masculine cards for just about anything...birthday, get well, father's day or thank you. You'll find a replay of the fun we had here:

WHISKEY BUSINESS - perfect for the distinguished men in your life! I combined this stamp set with the SCRAPPY STRIP TECHNIQUE to make a classy card. The TASTEFUL TEXTILE embossing folder paired with the IN GOOD TASTE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER was just the right touch. My decanter is silver embossed and popped up on Dimensionals. I embellished with the ELEGANT FACETED GEMS and used the LOVELY LABELS PICK A PUNCH for the sentiment layer.

Dimensions:

• Night of Navy 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" & 3 3/4" x 2 1/4"
• Basic Gray 4" x 5 1/4"
• Whisper White 3/4" x 4" & 4" x 5 1/4"
• DSP 3 1/4" long strips

Don't forget to stamp your envelope!

PERFECT DSP LAYOUT: This is a really great layout for Designer Series Paper - it lets you take advantage of both sides!!! All the cards below are the same dimensions. The solid colored base is 5 1/2" x 5 1/4 scored at 4 1/4" on the short side. The DSP is 4" x 5 1/2" and the Whisper White inside layer is 4" x 5 1/4". This card uses a card base of Mossy Meadow with Basic Black and Brass Foil accents. I also used the Gilded Gems to embellish.

The DSP strip on the right side is 1" x 5 1/4"

This card uses a Basic Black card base with a Cinnamon Cider sentiment label.

I used Cinnamon Cider and Memento Black ink.

This card uses Early Espresso card base with Brass Foil accents.

I used Early Espresso and Misty Moonlight ink on the inside.

Here are both cards that I made. The left one is Daffodil Delight and the right one is Gorgeous Grape.

I just love this layout. The die cut words are perfect for it. And you could use any of the elements from the dies...cookies, chocolate, or coffee instead of the cocktails.

I used a strip of DSP for the bottom of my inside layer. The sentiment is from HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS - love those big word sets!

The GORGEOUS POSIES CARD KIT is one of the most beautiful kits I've used. It contains all the supplies to make 16 cards with matching envelopes. All you need to add is adhesive and dimensionals. I can't hardly wait to send these out!

It's just so pretty right? The box alone makes me giddy!

I used a masking technique for the flowers - allowing me to stamp the leaves as if they are coming out from behind the flowers. The Elegant Faceted Gems are sooo very pretty and make a perfect accent.
