Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Watercoloring Techniques

Welcome to the May Blog Hop. We are featuring WATERCOLORING today! One of my favorite techniques. I choose a technique called MAGIC WATER STAMPING. It's fun and easy. You can find all the details in my video here:

You can really see the MAGIC WATER STAMPING technique in this photo - it's got a ghosting look right? I'm so excited because I have several new products that I'm sharing with you today!!! MISTY MOONLIGHT cardstock, ink & ribbon, BRASS FOIL SHEETS, LOVELY YOU stamp set, LOVELY LABELS PICK A PUNCH and FOREVER GREENERY TRIM COMBO PACK....WOW!!!!

The new LOVELY LABELS PICK A PUNCH has three different sized guides for each side. You can make labels in any length you want that are 1/2", 3/4" & 1" - six different labels from ONE PUNCH - WHOO HOO! This punch will be available on June 3rd when the new catalog starts.

Did you notice the new BLUE? It's called MISTY MOONLIGHT and it's one of five new In Colors that will be available starting June 3rd. The little enamel dot in the middle of the Brass butterfly is part of that new color offering too.

Dimensions:

• Misty Moonlight 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
• Brass Foil Sheets 5" x 3 3/4", 1/4" x 5 1/4" & scrap
• Basic Black 1" x 4 1/4"
• Whisper White 4 7/8" x 3 5/8" & 4" x 5 1/4"

I love the NEW gold twine - it's part of the FOREVER GREENERY TRIM COMBO PACK - this will be available with the new catalog on June 3rd.

I used Bermuda Bay and Gorgeous Grape inks for this card. I also added some GILDED GEMS - even though these are gold - they look great with the NEW BRASS FOIL SHEETS layers. 

Dimensions:

• Gorgeous Grape 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
• Whisper White 5" x 3 3/4" & 4 7/8" x 3 5/8" & 3/4" strip for greeting
• Brass Foil Sheets 1" strip & 1/4" x 5 1/4" (inside)

Here's the layer that I used Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo ink on - the lighter colors do not work very good for the MAGIC WATER STAMPING technique. Darker colors will produce a more dramatic effect.

CORONACATION ADVENTURES

And here are a couple photos from my trip to Wyoming! I am still here!!! We went for a drive in the Big Horn Mountains - via the SHERIFF! We saw  antelopes, deers, elks and 21 mooses!!! LOL! (and I know those should not have "s" on the end...) We are having a fabulous time! And getting lots of work done...getting caught up again so I can BREATHE - LOL!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - A Kit in Color

Welcome to the MAY Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop. We are featuring alternate ideas with the A Kit In Color kit this month. I love the rainbow images and  the sentiments are perfect!!! Sit back and relax and have fun watching this video:

Here's all the wonderful products included in the May kit - MY GOODNESS YOU GET A LOT!!!!

This first alternate idea uses a banner made out of the striped card base from the kit with a vellum overlay.  I wrapped it with the Magenta Madness Baker's Twine and tied a bow at the top of the banner. The HEY is stamped with Misty Moonlight ink - a brand new In Color ink spot included in the kit - on the large die cut cloud. That's popped up on Dimensionals. I stamped the You're Amazing with VersaMark Ink and embossed it with White Embossing Powder. The enamel flowers just add to the charm - don't they?

Dimensions:

• Rainbow Stripe layer 2" x 4 1/4"

 

For this card I pulled out the brand new Magenta Madness In Color cardstock for my card base and the layer under the printed rainbow. The Purple Posy printed layer is from the envelope inside that I disassembled and cut to fit. I stamped the sentiment from Well Said with Memento Black Ink and die cut the word YOU in Basic Black from the Well Written Dies. The medium sized cloud is popped up on Dimensionals. Two lengths of baker's twine were used to tie a bow and attach it to the cloud with a mini glue dot.

Dimensions:

• Magenta Madness 11" x 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2"
• Cut rainbow printed layer to 2 1/2" x 3 1/8"
• Purple Posy Print from envelope - 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"

Another fabulous layout by my Hailey! I love this one. It's quick and easy and the ribbon adds so much.

This is the Rich Razzleberry base with Old Olive for the layer under the sentiment.

And this one is Old Olive with Poppy Parade. Don't forget to cut a piece of DSP 2 1/2" x 6" to decorate your envelope flap.

I love this layout! So easy and the Vellum Cardstock tones down the DSP just enough to add some cool interest.

It's all RAINBOWS & SUNSHINE tonight - I love these cards! Thank you Jodi Petersen for sharing one with me. I used the ORNATE GARDEN SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER for all of these. I cut one 12" x 12" piece into six card fronts.

Stamp up that envelope flap with the ORNATE GARDEN stamp set for a spectacular delivery!

I used Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape, Pacific Point & Granny Apple Green ink and card bases.

Use the left over strip and sponge with coordinating ink to add to your inside white layer.

Dimensions:

Card base 11" x 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2"
Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" & 1/2" x 4"
Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4"

I chose the Mosaic Mood suite for my card tonight - everything in this suite is retiring except the TIMELESS LABEL PUNCH. And I used the MASKING TAPE TECHNIQUE. Such a fun and easy technique. You can use any type of masking tape just make sure you press it on your clothing a couple times before you ink it up and use it on your cardstock layer.

A really quick and easy card right? You can choose any colors you want for this technique.

Stampin' Blend Markers make is so easy to look alike an artist when coloring in images like these florals in the ORNATE STYLE stamp set. The entire Ornate Garden Suite is a must have in my book.

Ornate Garden is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite suites - I love the flowers images but the edgelits are the BOMB!

I think this is one of my favorites!

I absolutely love the Old Olive flowers die cut and added above and below the stamped layer - such a unique look!

• Noble Peacock Foil Paper 4 @ 1/2" x 4"

Tonights card started with me wanting stripes...we don't have stripes right now so I decided to make my own!! And I paired it up with the MUSIC FROM THE HEART stamp set and NOBLE PEACOCK FOIL & SPECIALTY PAPER - WOW right? All of those items are retiring!

 

 

Dimensions:

• Granny Apple Green 11" x 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2"
• Whisper White 4" x 3 1/2" & 4" x 5 1/4"
• Noble Peacock Foil Paper 4 @ 1/2" x 4"
• Noble Peacock Special Designer Series Paper 2 1/2" x 6" (envelope flap)

I'm killing two birds with one stone - tomorrow morning I will post two more colors using this same card for you. How stinkin' adorable is this? Thank you Lisa Klotz for sharing these cute little boxes with me - they are so fun and easy to make!

Here's a side view. I scored my side panels before I cut them down the middle at 1 1/2" so I could score at once and then cut to have both sides

Box Dimensions:

• Whisper White 2" x 6 1/2" scored at 2 3/4 & 3 3/4 - score before using the tag punch
• Whisper White 2 @ 2" x 1 1/2" scored at 1/2" & 1 1/2"
• DSP 6" x 1" scored at 1", 2", 4" & 5"
