A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Winter Woods

Welcome to the October A PAPER PUMPKIN THING blog hop featuring the WINTER WOODS kit. Sooooo pretty!!!! Here's the cards that Stampin' Up! came up with!

I made one up to show you a close up:

Here's the contents in the kit - you get everything except scissors and adhesive.

Here's my first alternate idea. I used the SHIMMER WHITE EMBOSSING POWDER to make the snowflake dots - it's hard to see in the photo but they are SPARKLING LIKE CRAZY!

Dimensions:

• Crumb Cake 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
• Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4"

 

I used the same SHIMMER WHITE EMBOSSING POWDER on the BIRCH BACKGROUND stamp too - embossed on Soft Suede it really sparkles too!

I've seen the BIRCH BACKGROUND stamp on all kinds of cards - it gives your creations that SHABBY CHIC look. Even when stamped in PINK or BLUE for a baby card it's amazing!

Dimensions:

• Whisper White Thick 11" x 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2"
• Soft Suede 4" x 5 1/4"

Here's the card made with the instructions in the kit. Don't you love those little snowflake embellishments? They're so delicate and pretty!

What a GREAT kit! I can't hardly wait for the November kit - filled with 24 over the top tags to give my holiday presents that HANDMADE feel! My family and friends are going to love them! I think I'll go shopping and make sure my wrapping paper matches the tags...I'm a little OVER THE TOP like that!

Today I have a fun tip for you using the SNOWFALL ACCENTS PUFF PAINT! This product has been so popular that it's been sold out twice!!! It's back in stock now...but don't delay...you're going to want to get some before it's gone again!

These are quick and easy cards with a big bang...that puffed up cotton is the BOMB! I used the COUNTRY HOME stamp set and Blackberry Bliss ink on the card on the left and Memento Black ink on the card on the right. Which one do you like better? What else besides snow and cotton can you think of to use the PUFF PAINT on?

Those RECTANGLE STITCHED SHAPES are quickly becoming one of my favorite GO TO dies to create cards with - I LOVE THEM!

• Gray Granite 4" x 5 1/4"
• Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4" & scrap

Just a little somethin' somethin' on the inside...

Here's a better view of the puffed up cotton - isn't it cool?

And this one is stamped with BLACKBERRY BLISS ink instead of Memento Black so the ink bled a little bit to give my cotton puffs a tint of pink - cool right?

Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Whitewash Technique

Welcome to the October Totally Techniques Blog Hop! We are featuring the Whitewash Technique today. This is an oldie but a goodie and a technique that I haven't used in a long time. I had so much fun making these fall cards with the COME TO GATHER suite.

Here's a close up of the Whitewash Technique - super easy and pretty stunning right?

Love these rich fall colors! And don't miss the technique with the leaf dies - it's amazing!

Dimensions:

• Crumb Cake 3 3/4" x 5"
• Whisper White 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
• Cajun Craze 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
• Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4"

Here's a close up of the leaves that I spritzed with water - love this technique!

These blue pumpkins are all the rage this fall! I love this color combo!

I used the same dimensions for this card except the COME TO GATHER DSP is 1 1/2" x 5".

Pretty cool right? I love this technique!

Here are the cards that I demonstrated tonight using the NATURE'S BEAUTY, BRIGHTLY GLEAMING and BACK ON YOUR FEET stamp sets.

I love this stamp set - it has the perfect images to bring a smile to someone that may not have much to smile about.

Dimensions:
Old Olive 4 1/4" x 6 1/2" scored at 3 1/4"
Pretty Peacock 2 @ 4" x 3", 1 3/8" x 1 1/2" & scrap
Noble Peacock Foil 3 3/4" x 2 3/4"
Very Vanilla 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" & scrap
Gold Foil scrap

This card is called a TENT fold and Steve received it from Kim Siranna and she said she cased it from someone else.

This gift card holder uses the COPPER DOTTED TREAT BAGS and was inspired by my friend Ruth Bingle. I used the BRIGHLY GLEAMING suite to create all of these. I used a 1 3/4" Circle Punch for the white layer not realizing that it is retired. The Layering Circles Dies will work fine for this too.

The DETAILED TRIO punch makes perfect rounded corners and the little flower element in the corners.

Dimensions:

Copper Dotted Treat Bags - score at 4" from bottom on back
Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper 1 1/2" x 10 1/2"
Copper Foil 3 3/4" x 4 1/2" & scrap
Pretty Peacock 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" & scrap
Whisper White scrap

Below are Pretty Peacock, Night of Navy and Mossy Meadow for a nice variety using the BRIGHTLY GLEAMING SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER.

Stampin' Up! is donating $3 to mental health organizations for each NATURE'S BEAUTY stamp set they sell! What a great cause! Susie Wood is responsible for this fabulous layout. I used the PRESSED PETALS SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER for the little 1" strip down the sides.

Dimensions:

Early Espresso 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4", 3" x 4 5/8" & scrap
Whisper White 2 3/4" x 4 3/8" & 4" x 5 1/4"
Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper 5 1/4" x 1"

 

The snowflakes on the inside come from the Snowman Season stamp set and they're stamped in Crumb Cake ink.

For the snow I used Shimmery Crystals Effects & Ice Stampin' Glitter together - GOR-JEE-OUS right?

Feature Friday - CLASSIC LAYOUT

I had so much fun making these cards! I combined the BOO TO YOU stamp set with the BUFFALO CHECK BACKGROUND STAMP for a whole bunch of plaid fun...SPOOKTACULAR!!! I think the biggest thing that drew me to this stamp set is the fact that you can use any of these images for cards that DON'T have a Halloween theme. The fun little images can be used to make kid's cards for birthdays or all occasions and that zombie is perfect for a GET WELL card - don't you think? You'll find some fabulous tips using the Stamparatus with the background stamp in my video tutorial today:

This is a whole bunch of fun! I love making several different colors of the same card. Variety is the spice of life...right?

I forgot to add the ground under the zombie's feet in my video tutorial - I used a Stampin' Blend in Gray Granite Light so my zombie has something to walk on.

I love the insides of all of these! It's always a fun surprise to open a card to find that the fun didn't stop with the front!

Highland Heather is my favorite purple and perfect for the monster card - I love the pop of Granny Apple Green with the purple!

These little ornaments make a perfect tag - they are simple and gorgeous!

You'll find a complete shopping list down below all the photos but here's a quick little list that Stampin' Up! provided:

Stamps: Christmas Gleaming

CS/DSP: Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP Ink/Coloring

Tools: Pretty Peacock Classic Ink Pad Accessories: Stars Designer Elements, Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack, Pretty Peacock/Old Olive 3/8” Reversible Ribbon

Adhesives: Dimensionals, Tear and Tape Adhesive Tools: Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack, Hammered Metal 3D EF

Cut DSP to 8 ¾” x 8 1/2”. Score on 8 3/4" side every 1 ¾”(1 3/4", 3 1/2", 5 1/4" & 7"). Place punch centered on the scored lines and punch out. Add adhesive to one of the flaps and adhere together. Now add ribbon to each end close the cracker ends.

Night of Navy is very trendy right now - this duo is beautiful too!
