Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Embossing Paste

Welcome to the August Totally Techniques blog hop! We are featuring Embossing Paste today! Make sure you scroll down to the little thumbnail photos of everyone else's projects and click on them to join in the hop.

I chose the new BASIC PATTERN DECORATIVE MASKS with SHIMMERY WHITE EMBOSSING PASTE to make my cards today. The new masks will be available next week (Sept 4) in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

By added a reinker to the paste you can make it any color you need!!! I chose to use a bright color - Gorgeous Grape - with a dark cardstock - Basic Black - for a dramatic effect.

And that shimmer - OH MY MY!!! Isn't it pretty?

Here are all three samples from the video. The first one is unaltered SHIMMER WHITE EMBOSSING PASTE. The second one has Crushed Curry reinker added to it and I just spread it across the center of my Early Espresso layer and the third one has Mango Melody reinker added to the paste.

And my super fun Halloween card - aren't these monsters adorable? They are from the BOO TO YOU stamp set! I colored them with Stampin' Blends (see the shopping list before for the colors I used), cut them out and popped them up with Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment and Granny Apple Green layer are from the SPOOKTACULAR BASH bundle - love those frames!

I can't hardly wait to send this out!

 

This such an easy and spectacular technique. I used Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the new DIAGONAL STRIPE RIBBON (Holiday Mini Catalog) with the TAGS TAGS TAGS bundle.  That layer under the tag is Vellum Cardstock and I die cut it in the #2 STITCHED NESTED LABELS DIE. Just a little something to make that tag pop. My tag is stamped with VersaMark ink on Cherry Cobbler cardstock, embossed with White Embossing Powder and die cut with the coordinating ties in this bundle.

Love the way those trees sparkle - right?

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - The Gift of Fall

Welcome to the August A PAPER PUMPKIN THING blog hop. We have a beautiful kit called The Gift of Fall to play with this month. THESE ARE MY COLORS! Summer is my favorite season but it's closely followed by fall - I love the rich, colorful colors of fall and this kit is GOR-JEE-OUS! I have a video tutorial that shows all the details and a step by step tutorial showing how I made my cards and gift box for today's hop here:

These colors are just so rich and pretty. I chose a Pretty Peacock card base and the color vellum die cuts with the colorful banner for my first card. I used Pretty Peacock to stamp my sentiment on the Crumb Cake die cut banner.

And then those little bags - oh my! I chose to cut off the top and make a little box container. I folded the top edge of the bag over about 1/2" to make the top nice and sturdy.

Dimensions:

• Pretty Peacock 2 @ 3" x 4 1/4" & 2 @ 2" x 3" 
• Printed Paper 2 1/2" x 4"

My matching card uses the same color card stock - Pretty Peacock. I also added a layer of Whisper White to the inside with the sprig image stamped in Pretty Peacock ink.

Dimensions:

• Pretty Peacock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
• Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4"
• Banner cut to 4" long

I love this gift set - a beautiful card and matching box - perfect combo!

And don't you just love this wreath circle layer - the colors are delicious! I ran the Merry Merlot layer through the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Again a Whisper White layer was added to the inside with the spring image stamped in Pretty Peacock ink.

Dimensions:

• Crushed Curry 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
• Merry Merlot 4" x 5 1/4"
• Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4"

 

I can't hardly wait to make some more gorgeous cards with my kit! I'm going to be SOOOOO ready and sending out fall cards as soon as summer is over!

Adding a blue star to my folders is going to save me a lot of frustration! I'm happy I found a way to identify which embossing folders to use the new 3D Embossing Plate with - now I won't be scratching my head in a few months. 

I purchases these stickers at my local Walgreens store - any blue sticker will work for this.

Here's a sneak peek at two new embossing folders! The HAMMERED METAL on the left and the WINTER KNIT on the right. Both of these will be available starting September 4th in the new Holiday Mini Catalog.

PRESSED PETALS SUITE

I'm featuring the PRESSED PETALS SUITE for this card - LOVE that Pressed Petals Washi Tape - right??? And the Designer Series Elements are perfect for the flower center.

This photo really shows the embossing on the burlap DSP layer with the Scripty 3D Embossing folder - so pretty!

This card also uses the PRESSED PETALS SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER - I used one of the decorative panels and embellished it with a sentiment layer, punched daisy and a little White Baker's Twine. What do you think?

The washi tape comes with the roll of petals and the other tape shown at the top of this layer - it's a little shabby chic - I love it!

I combined this new stamp set with copper elements - what do you think of the new HAMMERED METAL 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER??? I have so many different ideas up my sleeve for this beauty! I added COPPER EMBOSSING POWDER, COPPER FOIL SHEETS and COPPER TRIM to make my card so rich looking!

Dimensions:

• Merry Merlot 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" & scraps
• Copper Foil 4" x 5 1/4" & 2" x 4"
• Come to Gather Designer Series Paper 3 3/4" x 5"
• Very Vanilla 4" x 5 1/4"
• Cajun Craze scrap
• Very Vanilla Envelope

I can't hardly wait to send this out...who's going to get this amazing card? Hmmmm.....

And then this card was somewhat of an accident...did you watch the video?

Don't forget to decorate those envelopes! I used the TIN TILE 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER for this one - Merry Merlot & Crumb cake along with some copper and Cajun Craze - GOR-JEE-OUS for fall don't you think?

I love the copper leaf peaking out from under the corner of the sentiment layer.

I featured the bundle called  A LITTLE LACE tonight. What a fun, whimsical bundle! Here's a unique layout that really makes those flowers pop - don't you think?

Don't forget to stamp your envelope - it's always fun to get a pretty envelope in the mail right?

Dimensions:

• Whisper White Thick Card Base 11" x 4 1/4"
• Whisper White Side Panels 1" x 5 1/4" & 1 3/4" x 5 1/4"
• Whisper White Center Panel 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"
• Whisper White Inside Layer 3 3/4" x 5"
• Bermuda Bay 4" x 5 1/4"

And the inside is pretty sweet too! I love the border stamp included in this set.

Then I chose Pretty Peacock to make this card - one of our new In Colors. And that RIBBON - OH MY! I love it!!! Don't forget to add it to your order! It's called SCALLOPED LINEN RIBBON and comes in Purple Posy, Rococo Rose,  Terracotta Tile, Seaside Spray and Pretty Peacock.

And a little stamping on the envelope again - love it!

Dimensions:

• Pretty Peacock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" & 2" x 5 1/2"
• Whisper White 1/2" x 3 1/2", 4" x 5 1/4" & scrap

I used the EDGELIT in the STITCHED LACE DIES to cut the bottom edge off and then stamped the border stamp - pretty right?

Here's the same layout in Terracotta Tile. I change the top layer from the STITCHED LACE DIES to the LACE EMBOSSING FOLDER. Pretty too! The flower centers are the new In Color Faceted Dots.

And then I had to make one in Coastal Cabana with the Glitter Enamel Dots - I love that we have so many embellishments that coordinate with our colors!

And this one has a POLKA DOT TULLE bow!

I think this bundle is gorgeous! And the DIES are going to be amazing for Valentine's card - love that lacy look!

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop - Holiday Mini Sneak Peek

Welcome to the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop for August! We are all featuring a sneak peek at some new product coming out in the HOLIDAY MINI CATALOG that goes live on September 4th! You're going to love it!!! I chose Halloween cards for the hop today. I love Halloween...from making cards to decorating my house to dressing up in a costume to hand out candy - LOVE IT ALL!

Aren't these fun and easy? The WONDERFULLY WICKED stamp set and WICKED DIES is super easy to design with - that "wicked" font grabbed me right away!

Pumpkin Pie was perfect for this pattern - don't you think?

I used Gorgeous Grape for this card base - it's not one of the coordinating colors in the Monster Bash DSP - but I love purple for Halloween cards!

This one has a Terracotta Tile card base:

Dimensions:

• Card Base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Terracotta Tile, Gorgeous Grape & Pumpkin Pie)
• Layer under DSP 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" (Basic Black or Crushed Curry)

• Crushed Curry & Black Foil Sheets - scraps

This MONSTER BASH DESIGNER SERIES PAPER is stinkin' adorable!!!! I know I'll be using tons of it for my frightful, delightful creations!!!
