Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Homemade Stencils
05/31/2019
Happy Friday! I'm so glad you're joining me for the TOTALLY TECHNIQUES BLOG HOP featuring homemade stencils or techniques with stencils. I chose to use the THANKFUL THOUGHTS & FALLING FLOWERS stamp set and the MAY FLOWERS FRAMELITS DIES - the dies are on sale regularly $31.00 for $26.35! All three of these items are retiring with the annual catalog on June 3rd.
DAUBERS are the tool I chose to make my stenciled flowers with. I started with a die cut flower from WINDOW SHEETS - a great stencil template that can be used over and over! You'll find all the details in this video tutorial:
If the video above does not play - click HERE to watch it on my blog.
The first card I made is a simple one - I used the Stamparatus to repeatedly stamp my greeting to get that bad boy nice and dark! It's the perfect tool for this and I use it frequently to make that Memento Black Ink nice and rich.
I love the colors (Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape and Pineapple Punch inks) I used for this card - they scream summer - don't they? And that pop of Black Baker's Twine - also a retiring product that I'm really going to miss!
The FALLING FLOWERS stamp set has some beautiful images - I love the flourish stamped in Coastal Cabana ink for my inside:
Dimensions:
- Coastal Cabana 11" x 4 1/4" scored and folded at 5 1/2"
- Whisper White 3 3/4" x 5" & 4" x 5 1/4"
- Basic Black 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
I couldn't stop with the card above - I just had to make this one too!!! I added Melon Mambo ink to this color combo and I love it! This card is a little more involved but only because I used that gorgeous flower that I made the stencil with and die cut a Basic Black one and a Pineapple Punch one. Do you like the offset of the flower dies?
Dimensions:
- Pineapple Punch 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" & scrap
- Basic Black 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
- Whisper White 3 3/4" x 5" & 4" x 5 1/4" & 1/2" x 3"
I can't hardly wait to send these beauties out - one is definitely going to a friend that took me out to lunch - she's going to LOVE it!
