Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Faux Torn Edge

Welcome to the TOTALLY TECHNIQUES September blog hop! Today we are featuring a technique called FAUX TORN EDGE. This is an oldie but goodie! Here's what I came up with:

I chose to use the SPOOKY SWEETS bundle along with SHELTERING TREE for my spooky cards! I have a video tutorial that will show you some great tips here:

My first card uses the JOYOUS NOEL GLIMMER PAPER - this comes in an assortment pack of orange, green and red. I thought it was perfect for the moon on my Halloween card.

That sky really looks spooky doesn't it? And a couple FACETED DOTS in black were perfect for this card!

Dimesions:

• Gorgeous Grape 11" x 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2"
• Basic Black 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
• Whisper White 3 3/4" x 5" & 4" x 5 1/4"

Here's the inside - still spooky right?

And then I made this one! A 1 3/4" Circle Punch was used for the mask on the moon. And of course the cute little tree from SHELTERING TREE has a spooky element to it when used on this card!

• Gorgeous Grape 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
• Basic Black 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
• Whisper White 3 3/4" x 5" & 4" x 5 1/4"
• Joyous Glimmer Paper scrap

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Frights & Delights

OH MY GOODNESS!!! This month's Paper Pumpkin kit is stinkin' adorable! Below are the little treat bags made up as shown in the kit instructions. Aren't they adorable? Frights and Delights is one of the cutest kits ever!

I love making the same card in multiple colors and this one was so fun!!!

Dimensions:

• Card base (Pumpkin Pie, Gorgeous Grape or Granny Apple Green) 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2"
• Basic Black 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
• Smokey Slate 3 3/4" x 5"
• Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4"

And then I made these! I love the stacked pumpkins - they're so happy right? 

Dimensions:

• Basic Black 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
• Pumkin Pie 4" x 5 1/4"
• Whisper White 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" & 4" x 5 1/4"

And the inside:

This Clear Tiny Treat Box is on page 193 in the Annual Catalog. You get 16 boxes for $7.50 - what a GREAT deal! I cut two pieces of Basic Black cardstock at 2" x 5 7/8" and both pieces are scored at 2 1/2" and 4 5/8". I punched the ends with the Tag Topper Scallop Punch - wrap them on the box for a dry fit before you punch to make sure you're punching the right ends and then glue them together on the bottom - they overlap a little bit. Tie the top with some of our GOR-JEE-OUS 5/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon. Add the die cut pumpkin with Dimensionals, a bow with the Baker's Twine and the Boo! and you have the most adorable little treat favor!!! I used the Mini Glue Dots to secure the Basic Black cardstock to the clear box.

The ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD is an amazing tool and it's so easy that anyone can use it! Make matching envelopes to go with your cards.

I love using greetings with funky fonts for the back ground on my cards. What do you think? I stamped in Smokey Slate ink on Smokey Slate cardstock for this subtle but fun pattern.  And stamping the flowers on Smokey Slate allowed me to use the Stampin' Chalk White Marker to make the cotton puffs pop.

And these little treat favors are so easy and cute! Cut your Designer Series Paper at 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" and add Tear & Tape to the long side to form a tube. Slide each end into the Envelope Punch Board and punch at 1". Easy peasy lemon squeezie!

They are the perfect size to fit snack sized Halloween candy!

The Bubble Cauldron bundle is so perfect for all my Halloween crafting!!! I love this bundle! And the GLITTERED RIBBON - OH MY GOSH! Delicious!!!!

And if Halloween is not your thing...check out these treat holders using the Country Lane Designer Series Paper and the Country Home stamp set - fabulous for all your friends! These would make great little gifts for your coworkers!

Cutting & Scoring:

• Stamp Witch’s hat in Black Memento ink on scrap of Whisper White cardstock and color with Stampin blends.  Die cut. 
• Pop up onto card as shown.  Embellish with Spider (use glue dot to adhere)
• Stamp Sentiment in black in and punch with 1” circle punch.  Adhere to card and trim edge.
• Pop up Black Foil panel onto folded Gorgeous Grape Card.

Control Freaks Blog Hop - Holiday Mini Catalog

Welcome to the Control Freaks September blog hop! We have a great line up of fabulous ideas using the Holiday Mini Catalog - WHOO HOO!!! You may have just arrived from Connie Babbert's Blog or maybe your started here. Please make sure you scroll down to the NEXT button to hop along.

I chose to use the Country Home stamp set and Country Lane Designer Series Paper - both in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I love the water pitcher and the milk can in this stamp set - with two different bouquets of flowers that are interchangeable - it's a winner in my book!

 

 

I used a Crumb Cake card base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2") and the Country Lane DSP on the front is 1 3/4" x 5". The Detailed Lace edgelit was used on a piece of Blackberry Bliss that's 5" x 2". I love how all the little bits come out of this intricate die with my Big Shot Die Brush - it's the perfect tool for a die like this.

The oval is die cut on Very Vanilla cardstock and I used the Layering Oval die that measures 3 1/4" from top to bottom and then the scalloped oval that's just a little bit bigger for the Blackberry Bliss matte behind it.

It's not as easy to see in this photo but the cotton is colored in with the Stampin' Chalk Marker to brighten up that cotton. It really does make it POP in real life.

And then we have the water pitcher....oh how I love that! I stamped it with StazOn Black ink on our new Galvanized Metallic Paper. I cut it out by hand. It's a pretty easy image to cut out - just cut off the handle and cut that out and glue it back on - you can't even tell!

The oval layers and the banner greeting are both popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

I used Old Olive Light, Mango Melody Dark and Blackberry Bliss Light Stampin' Blends to color in the flowers and leave in my bouquet. Add a little bow of Braided Linen Trim to the handle and you have a beautiful card!

 

Cardstock & Dimensions:

Crumb Cake (8 1/2" x 5 1/2"), Blackberry Bliss (2" x 5" & scraps), Very Vanilla (4" x 5 1/2", 1/2" x 3" & scrap), Galvanized Metallic Paper (scrap), Country Lane Designer Series Paper (1 3/4" x 5")

The inside has the GOR-JEE-OUS font greeting and the bouquet of flowers stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink on a layer of Very Vanilla.

If you don't have any of the Country Lane Designer Series Paper you HAVE to get some! It is rich and beautiful and absolutely perfect for all your fall creations!!!
