FLORAL BLACK ICE CARDS DETAILS

  

Here's my BLUE ICE  card! I used the COUNTRY LIVIN' stamp set for this one:

Dimensions:

• Island Indigo 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"
• Basic Black 4-7/8" x 3-5/8"
• Silver Foil Sheets 4-3/4" x 3-1/2"
• Whisper White 1/2" x 3-1/2"
• Smokey Slate scrap

Love the details in this photo!

STYLIZED BIRTHDAY is my favorite birthday greeting!

And oh my the COPPER FOIL!!!! I love this stunning beach scene. 

Dimensions:

• Crushed Curry 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" & scrap
• Bermuda Bay 4" x 5-1/4"
• Copper Foil Sheets scrap

 

This might be my favorite!!! The copper foil and the BLACK ICE technique gives the illusion of a beautiful beach scene. I also ran another layer of Copper Foil through the Big Shot in the BASKET WEAVE embossing folder. The COUNTRY LIVIN' set provided my guitar. I just stamped it on Bermuda Bay cardstock with black ink and fussy cut it.

The light is hitting this one just right....love this:

 

I'm going to do a video on the barn door card below - I'll share the details on that one when I do. Watch for it in the future:

Welcome to the Control Freaks  blog hop featuring BEAUTIFUL BOUQUETS. That's the theme this month. I'm super excited to show you a couple of the cards I made for my Facebook Live event on Sunday night with the amazing BLACK ICE TECHNIQUE!

I went crazy with the BLACK ICE TECHNIQUE and love how this technique turned out:

This beauty features the HEARTFELT BLOOMS stamp set - FREE with your $50 order until the end of March. OMGosh - I love this stamp set and the Black Ice Technique just accentuates the beauty of the image - what do you think? You'll find a video tutorial on my Facebook page - just do a search for A Stamp Above - Your Creative Coach.

Here's a close up of the Black Ice - it's embossed with clear embossing powder after dragging your VersaMark ink pad very lightly across your cardstock.

Dimensions:

• Berry Burst 11" x 4-1/4" scored at 5-1/2"
• Whisper White 4" x 5-1/4"
• Basic Black 4" x 5-1/4"
• Silver Foil Sheets 3-7/8" x 3-1/2"

Ingredients:

• Stamp Set: 147202 Heartfelt Blooms (FREE with a $50 order)
• Ink: 144083 Berry Burst, 102283 VersaMark, 140931 Black Archival
• Other: 109130 Clear & 109131 Silver Embossing Powder, 129053 Heat Tool, 145489 3/8" Berry Burst Metallic Edged Ribbon, 132137 1/8" Silver Ribbon, 103683 Mini Glue Dots, 110755 Liquid Multipurpose Glue, 143263 Big Shot

The inside is stamped with Berry Burst in and just a little corner of the flowers bouquet stamp:

Project Sheet Monday

Stampin’ Up! Supplies: 

• STAMPS – Hedgehugs (145879)

• INK – Soft Suede Pad (126978), Chocolate Chip Pad (126979) Crumb Cake Pad (126975), Marker Lemon Lime Twist 2018-19 In Colors (144033) Stampin' Blends Crumb Cake Light (144582), Pool Part Light (144595)
• OTHER – Big Shot (143263), Stitched Shapes Framelit (145372), Dimensionals (104430) Lemon Lime Twist Finely Woven Ribbon (144135) Post It Note

Cutting & Scoring:  

• Crumb Cake - 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score and fold at 4 ¼”
• Whisper White  – Scrap
• DSP – 4” x 5 ¼”

 

Instructions:

• Adhere Wood Textures DSP to card base.
• On the post it note stamp the squirrel image and cut it out giving you a mask.
• Using the Whisper White scrap, stamp the squirrel image in Soft Suede ink and cover with post it note mask.
• Stamp the stump image below the squirrel and remove the mask. 
• Stamp the mushrooms in Crumb Cake ink
• Color images in with blends and markers.
• Die Cut the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits around your stamped images. Be sure to leave enough room for the sentiment. 
• Stamp the sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink
• Adhere ribbon to card front and trim off edges even with DSP
• Adhere circle to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampers Dozen Blog Hop - Let's Sale-a-Brate Again!

I chose to use the BLOSSOMING BASKET BUNDLE for my cards for a couple fun techniques. First I used ink on the BASKET WEAVE Embossing Folder and then I did a little 3-D effect with the flowers in my basket.

• Crumb Cake 11" x 4-1/4" scored at 5-1/2"
• Whisper White 4-3/4" x 3-1/2"
• Pumpkin Pie 4-7/8" x 3-5/8"

Below is a view showing how intricate the flowers look when you stack them:

For the inside I colored another flower in with the Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends, cut it out and glued it in place on the 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White layer:

Here's a good view of the flowers on this one:

This layout is pretty in Daffodil Delight too!

And another close up - isn't this pretty?

Here's what happens when you put too much ink on your embossing folder - don't do this - LOL!

The sample above is with the ink applied to the side of the folder with the Stampin' Up! logo on it. The sample below is when the ink is applied to the other inside panel.

I can't wait to send these cards out!!! They are sooo pretty!

I had a GREAT time with my Brusho Crystal Colours again! This time I combined them with embossing folders - OH MY!

HOW TO GIVE YOUR CAT A PILL:

1) Pick cat up and cradle it in the crook of your left arm as if holding a baby. Position right forefinger and thumb on either side of cat's mouth and gently apply pressure to cheeks while holding pill in right hand. As cat opens mouth, pop pill into mouth. Allow cat to close mouth and swallow.

2) Retrieve pill from floor and cat from behind sofa. Cradle cat in left arm and repeat process.

3) Retrieve cat from bedroom, and throw soggy pill away.

4) Take new pill from foil wrap, cradle cat in left arm, holding rear paws tightly with left hand. Force jaws open and push pill to back of mouth with right forefinger. Hold mouth shut for a count of ten.

5) Retrieve pill from goldfish bowl and cat from top of wardrobe. Call spouse from garden.

6) Kneel on floor with cat wedged firmly between knees, hold front and rear paws. Ignore low growls emitted by cat. Get spouse to hold head firmly with one hand while forcing wooden ruler into mouth. Drop pill down ruler and rub cat's throat vigorously.

7) Retrieve cat from curtain rail, get another pill from foil wrap. Make note to buy new ruler and repair curtains. Carefully sweep shattered figurines and vases from hearth and set to one side for gluing later.

8) Wrap cat in large towel and get spouse to lie on cat with head just visible from below armpit. Put pill inside end of drinking straw, force mouth open with pencil and blow down drinking straw.

9) Check label to make sure pill is not harmful to humans, drink 1 beer to take taste away. Apply Band-Aid to spouse's forearm and remove blood from carpet with cold water and soap.

10) Retrieve cat from neighbor's shed. Get another pill. Open another beer. Place cat in cupboard, and close door onto neck, to leave head showing. Force mouth open with dessert spoon. Flick pill down throat with elastic band.

11) Fetch screwdriver from garage and put cupboard door back on hinges. Drink beer. Fetch bottle of scotch. Pour shot, drink. Apply cold compress to cheek and check records for date of last tetanus shot. Apply whiskey compress to cheek to disinfect. Toss back another shot. Throw T- shirt away and fetch new one from bedroom.

12) Call fire brigade to retrieve the BLEEPING cat from tree across the road. Apologize to neighbor who crashed into fence while swerving to avoid cat. Take last pill from foil-wrap.

13) Tie the little BLEEP's front paws to rear paws with garden twine and bind tightly to leg of dining table, find heavy duty pruning gloves from shed. Push pill into mouth followed by large piece of steak filet. Be rough about it. Hold head vertically and pour 2 pints of water down throat to wash pill down.

14) Consume remainder of Scotch. Get spouse to drive you to the emergency room, sit quietly while doctor stitches fingers and forearm and remove pill remnants from right eye. Call furniture shop on way home to order new table.

15) Arrange for RSPCA to collect "mutant cat from hell" and call local pet shop to see if they have any hamsters.

HOW TO GIVE A DOG A PILL:

1) Wrap it in cheese.

I used the MYTHS & MAGIC bundle and the BRICK WALL folder to. make this card:

Dimensions:

• Basic Gray 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"
• Pacific Point 4" x 5-1/4"
• Whisper White 3-3/4" x 5"

 

STYLIZED BIRTHDAY is the single stamp I used inside:

 

I used the EPIC CELEBRATIONS stamp set for this card. It's FREE during Sale-a-Bration! For the background I inked up the SCATTERED SEQUINS DYNAMIC embossing folder with Dapper Denim ink:

For this one I embossed the Whisper White layer and then I drug my ink pad across the "debossed" side - super cool too right?

Dimensions:

• Whisper White Thick 4-1/4" x 11 scored at 5-1/2"
• Lemon Lime 5-3/8" x 4-1/8"
• Whisper White 4" x 5-1/4"

 

This one uses the FLUTTERING embossing folder with the JUST ADD TEXT stamp set. My butterflies are from the YOU MOVE ME bundle. And the BLACK SHIMMER RIBBON - oooo la la!

Dimensions:

• Flirty Flamingo 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2"
• Basic Black 4" x 5-1/4"
• Whisper White 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" & 1-3/4" x 5-1/8"

Markers were used to color in the flowers and leaves.

Project Sheet Monday

Isn't this stinkin' adorable??? The PARTY PANDA stamp set is only available until the end of March - for FREE! That's when Sale-a-Bration ends. If you need to stock up on some stamping supplies, there's no better time than when you can get free stuff! 

Supplies:

• Stamp Sets: Perennial Birthday (145757 – w; 145760 – c); Party Pandas Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set (147218—w; 147221—c)
• Cardstock: Whisper White (100730), Basic Black (121045), Pink Pirouette (111351)
• Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (132708), Soft Sky (131181), Pink Pirouette (126956), Flirty Flamingo (141397)
• Miscellaneous: 2” Circle Punch (133782),  Flirty Flamingo 3/8” Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (144227), Stamping Sponges (141337), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), SNAIL Adhesive (104332), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Paper Snips (103579), typing paper 

Measurements:

• Pink Pirouette:  5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”; 3” x 3” square
• Basic Black:  3-1/2” x 4-3/4”
• Whisper White:  3-1/4” x 4-1/2”

 

Instructions:

1. Fold the Pink Pirouette cardstock in half.  Using the confetti stamp from the Party Pandas set, stamp randomly around the edge of the front of the card using Pink Pirouette ink.  Clean stamp and repeat using Flirty Flamingo ink.   Set aside.
2. Stamp the sentiment using Black ink; punch out using the 2” Circle punch; set aside.
3. Stamp the Panda using the Black ink.
4. Tear the typing paper into strips to create your own cloud stencil. Using a sponge, lightly sponge clouds using the Soft Sky ink – be sure to avoid sponging over the Panda.
5. Adhere the Circle from Step #2 above the panda (covering the stamped balloon); trim corners where it extends beyond the white mat. 
6. Layer Whisper White mat onto the Black mat and adhere to base card using Dimensionals.
7. Tie an approximately 10” of Flirty Flamingo ribbon into a bow and adhere to bottom of circle using a mini Glue Dot.
