FEATURE FRIDAY VIDEO - Pull Card

 

I have a fun card for you today - a PULL CARD using the NAILED IT BUNDLE and the HAPPY CELEBRATIONS with the DUO CELEBRATIONS embossing folder. This is a fun folder the when used leaves a "debased" image so you can stamp over top of it and it'll leave the word unlinked. Super cool right?

Dimensions:

• Card Base in Basic Black: 4¼’ x 11”
• Bermuda Bay Mat: 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”
• DSP Mat: 4” x 5 ¼”
• DSP Strip: 1 ¼” x 4”
• Bermuda Bay Strip: 5/8” x 2”
• Bermuda Bay: Largest Stitched Circle Framelit

Instructions:

1. Stamp truck image and sentiment (only ink up the “Happy Biirthday”) onto Basic Black using Versamark Ink. Sprinkle with Whisper White Embossing Powder and set with your heat tool.
2. Use your paper snips to cut out both the truck and the sentiment.
3. Using Versamark ink stamp the flag banner multiple times on the upper half of the Bermuda Bay stitched circle.
4. Using dimensionals adhere the truck image to the Bermuda Bay circle. Then add half of a small silver foil doily to the bottom of the circle (adhere it on the back side of the circle).
5. Adhere the Bermuda Bay mat to the card base. Now adhere the large piece of DSP to the Bermuda Bay mat.
6. Adhere the DSP strip to the card front 1 ½” up from the bottom of the large DSP layer. Align it on the right side  at the edge of the Bermuda Bay layer.
7. Fold a length of Dapper Denim Ruched riboon so that it will stick out on both sides of the circle. Adhere it to the card front with Fast Fuse.
8. Put dimensionals on the back of the Bermuda Bay circle. Adhere it to the card front over the Ruched Ribbon.
9. Adhere your sentiment to the small piece of Bermuda Bay and orient it to the right side. Then wrap Basic Black Metallic Thread multiple times around the left side of the Bermuda Bay piece. Adhere in the back with fast fuse. Use the second half of the small silver doily and adhere it to the back of the sentiment piece with the scalloped edge showing at the bottom. Add dimensionals to the back and adhere the sentiment to the top left of the card front.
10. Embellish with In Color Enamel Shapes in Peekaboo Peach.

I hope you were able to get yourself some of this FREE ribbon...OH MY...it is soooo gorgeous and when you dye it whatever color you want it...it's GORGEOUS AND AMAZING!!! Check out my quick video tip and see for yourself: 

  

Isn't this pretty? I dyed this one in Flirty Flamingo and then decided to use Watermelon Wonder for the card. And it matches up really good right? This metallic ribbon is soooo beautiful in real life - photos just don't do it justice. And then when you die it - the metallic threads really pop to make it spectacular! You get one roll of each (gold and silver) when you choose this as your FREE Sale-a-Bration item - 14 yards total!

 

You can see the sparkle from the metallic threads above.

 

 

Let's talk a little bit about the card...I found this layout online on several different cards and decided I loved it! It's pretty neat looking with the slanted layer across the front right? This card below is made with Wisteria Wonder embossed in the PETAL BURST embossing folder and I used Elegant Eggplant ink to dye my ribbon.

Tips:

• The Crumb Cake layer is 2-1/2 x 8-1/2.
• I stamped the HAPPY BIRTHDAY right in the center using Memento Ink.
• Colored it in with markers (Pear Pizzazz & Wisteria Wonder or Watermelon Wonder)
• I laid it across my embossed layer with the tip of the bottom left at the corner and the top right at the corner.
• Glue it in place and then turn your layers over to cut off the excess.
• Add some Clear Wink of Stella to your flowers to make them glimmer (it's those little extra things right?)
• Super easy!

Isn't this soft and pretty? A beautiful card made by my downline Rose Grunewald - can you believe she just started stamping last summer??? And for the most part - this card is brought to us by the DRAGONFLY DREAMS bundle! YEP - except for the flower - the other images are from that bundle...which I love! I don't know if you could tell or not - LOL!!!

I love how Rose stamped the solid bee images for her background - genius!!!

 

That gorgeous flower is from the SUNSHINE WISHES set of thinlits...a complete product list is shown down below.

Instructions:

1. Using So Saffron, stamp the solid bee from the Dragonfly Dreams set in a random pattern on the So Saffron card front0
2. Adhere So Saffron card front to Basic Black piece
3. Die cut the flower from the Sunshine Wishes Dies and the Bee from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits in Basic Black & adhere to the card front
4. Wrap the Metallic Black Thread around the layered card front 5 times and secure with tape on the back
5. Stamp your sentiment in basic black on a scrap of So Saffron – snip around each word to separate them.
6. Adhere the snipped words to scraps of Basic Black and snip to frame each So Saffron piece. Attach the layered words to the card front using dimensionals
7. Adhere card front to card base
8. Stamp the inside of your card with the solid bee in So Saffron diagonally across the card.
9. In Basic Black, stamp the birthday sentiment in the middle of the inside of the card (over the diagonal bees)

 

This inside greeting is from BALLOON ADVENTURES:

 

The BLACK METALLIC THREAD is so subtle under the little words...but really adds a lot to the card...just that little something extra can take a card from a ten to a ten + don't you think? We have METALLIC THREAD in gold, silver and copper!

Project Sheet Monday - Easter Egg Carton

 

OMGosh!!! Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen??? Well - maybe not...but it's still stinkin' cute! These egg cartons were so popular that Stampin' Up! exhausted their supply a month ago - HOLY COW! Well...they're BACK!!!! As of March 20th - they should be available to order! If you try to order them and the number doesn't work...give it a couple days. They got held up in US Customs....seriously???  Don't they know that stampers need their stuff???

The item code is #142776. You get 8 cartons for $8. Stock up on them and you'll have some for next year too!

Download Project Sheet - Easter Egg Carton

Dimensions:

• Card Stock: All Scraps
• 6x6 Glimmer: Scraps of Mint Macaron  

Instructions:

1. Using Spritzer, Mix ¾ spritzer of Alcohol and about 10 drops of reinker, shake well. Spray egg carton completely. Let dry.
2. Wrap Burlap Ribbon around egg carton and tie a bow.
3. Using glue dots, adhere doily to ribbon.
4. Using Big Shot and Magnetic plate, cut out flowers from the May Flowers Framelits and Calypso Coral and Peekaboo Peach cardstock, curl petals using your bone folder and adhere using glue dots. Cut out leaves from the Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper, adhere using Glue Dots.
5. Using ½” Circle punch, punch a circle from Peekaboo Peach cardstock and adhere to center of flowers.
6. Stamp Bunny 3 times, adhere one to the other using Dimensionals. Color a pearl using brown sharpie and adhere to the eye.  Adhere bunnies using two Glue Dots to the bottom of the bunnies and adhere to top of décor.
7. Stamp Phrase and cut out with Big Shot and Bunch of Banners Framelits. Adhere using a glue dot.
8. Don’t forget to stuff egg carton with grass and goodies!

Dimensions:

• Smoky Slate cardstock:  11 x 3 ½ scored at 3 and 5 ½
• Smoky Slate cardstock:  5 ¼ x 3 ½
• Whisper White cardstock:  ½ x 3 ½ and 2 ¾ x 2 ¾ scrap 
• Night of Navy: 5 x 3 ¼ and 3 ¼ x 3 ¼
• Designer Paper: 3 x 3

Instructions:

1. Crease both score lines of Smoky Slate cardstock and fold card in half with second scored line on the front. Apply Snail adhesive below the second score line only. Layer the second piece of Smoky Slate over top aligning the bottom edges
2. Attach Night of Navy Cardstock large layer to front of easel and smaller layer to the inside on the bottom half
3. Attach Designer Paper to Night of Navy layer on the front and add the Calendar to the bottom with Tear & Tape adhesive
4. Stamp Balloon on scrap of White in Watermelon Wonder ink and cut out with the matching framelit using the Big Shot and Magnetic Platform
5. Ink up the top part of the Birthday saying only with Night of Navy Ink (I cut my stamp apart) and Stamp on skinny strip of White. Banner cut both ends using paper snips
6. Attach Balloon and Sentiment with Dimensionals.
7. Attach Post it Notes to the inside with Snail Adhesive
8. Stand up the front of calendar easel and rest the bottom behind the post it notes

Painter's Palette Birthday

 

Isn't this cute??? An easy layout that makes me smile. Who doesn't love a PARTY HAT??? 

 

Dimensions:  

• Thick Whisper White Card Base: 4 ¼ ” x 11”  & 2 ¾ ” x 4”
• Sweet Sugarplum: 2 7/8” x 4 1/8”
• Whisper White: 2” x 2” for saying  & scraps (Hat) 

Instructions:

1. Stamp Card Layer with the dots from the Helping Me Grow Set, alternating the colors between Sweet Sugarplum and Pool Party. Tip: Place the stamp close to the edge of the block and use the top of the Photopolymer as your spacing point for the next row.
2. Stamp the saying on the 2” x 2” and run through the Big Shot with the Stitched Framelit.
3. Stamp the Hat with Black Memento and color in using your Aqua Painter and ink from the lids of your Stamp Pads
4. Attach the ribbon across the stamped mat that is attached to the Sugarplum mat by using snail to hold to the back. Then cut a piece of ribbon about 3” and slip under the ribbon and knot for a faux bow. Attach Mat to the card front using Dimensionals.
5. Attach the saying with Dimensionals as well as the Birthday hat.
6. Add a row of diamonds if desired.

Feature Friday Video - Cake Crazy!

 

Talk about getting caught with my pants down...that's what I feel like!!! I made this video a couple weeks ago and then waited to post it - WHAT WAS I THINKING??? While you can't get this Glimmer Paper anymore (it's sold out) - I did show you how to make your own color Glimmer Paper on my Wednesday tip video - you can find that HERE.

So I decided to share the video with you anyways - because the stamp set and color combination is awesome! This card uses the CAKE CRAZY stamp set - one of those sets that stampers have been overlooking in the Occasions Mini Catalog. You get 22 different images in this set and they can all be easily stamped in different colors for a card full of fun! 

 

 

I made these cards using Island Indigo & Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron & Pacific Point and Elegant Eggplant and Bermuda Bay:

Time for Spring?

Do you think it's time for spring? I do! In Wisconsin - we're always ready for spring!

Isn't this card beautiful and just dripping with SPRING thoughts? The Special Reason Bundle is responsible for all this beauty! It's a set that's often overlooked in the Occasions Mini Catalog - but oh my gosh - the possibilities with this bundle are endless!!!

Download Project Sheet - Special Reason

Dimensions:

• Pear Pizzazz: 5 ½ x 8 ½ “, 3 x 4 ¼”; ¾ x 3”; scrap for die cutting leafs
• Whisper White CS: 2 ¾ x 4”, scrap for 2 flowers
• Designer paper: 4 x 5 1/4 “
• Peekaboo Peach: 2 ½ x 2 ½ “

 

Instructions:

1. Score Pear Pizzazz at 4 ¼”, adhere designer paper. Adhere strip of Pear Pizzazz in the middle.
2. Cut large flower on top center of Whisper White piece. Stamp sentiment on the bottom left in Soft Suede. Sponge piece of Peekaboo Peach cardstock with Peekaboo Peach ink and sponge dauber. Adhere the sponged piece behind Whisper White piece creating the background flower. Adhere Whisper White piece to Pear Pizzazz.
3. Stamp 2 small flowers in Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum. Die cut both flowers. Die cut two leaves from a scrap of pear pizzazz. Add flowers with Dimensionals and leaves with glue dots.
4. Add the center piece to the card front with Dimensionals.
5. Use clear Wink of Stella to add sparkles to flowers.

Well....you've all heard that the GLIMMER PAPER STACK is all gone right? That's a real bummer for everyone! I was so disappointed because I have an adorable project ready to roll for my FEATURE FRIDAY VIDEO that uses the Glimmer Paper...sniff sniff. Then I remembered something I did "way back when" and came up with a great solution! Make your own Colored Glimmer Paper - WHAT??? That's right!  Jack decided to go skiing with his buddy, Dan. So they loaded up Jack's minivan and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard. So they pulled into a nearby farm and asked the attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the night.

'I realize it's terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but I'm recently widowed,' she explained. 'I'm afraid the neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house.'

'Don't worry,' Jack said, 'We'll be happy to sleep in the barn. And if the weather breaks, we'll be gone at first light.'

The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the night.

Come morning, the weather had cleared, and they got on their way. They enjoyed a great weekend of skiing.

But about nine months later, Jack got an unexpected letter from an attorney.
It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that attractive widow he had met on the ski weekend.

He dropped in on his friend Dan and asked, "Dan, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up north about nine months ago?"

"Yes I do," said Dan.

"Did you, um, happen to get up in the middle of the night, go up to the house and pay her a visit?"

"Um, well, yes," Dan said, a little embarrassed about being found out, "I have to admit that I did."

"And did you happen to give her my name instead of telling her your name?"

Dan's face turned beet red and he said, "Yeah, look, I'm sorry, buddy. I'm afraid I did. Why do you ask?"

"She just died and left me everything."
