My Wednesday tip video will show you how to make a TACKY TOOL and take your frustration level to a new low with tiny embellishments! I've known about this idea for a long time - but finally took the time to make my TACKY TOOL and made my swap cards with ease!!!

BIRD BRAIN...

 

Bill owns a company that manufactures and installs car wash systems. Bill's company  installed   car wash system in Frederick, Maryland. Now, understand that these are complete systems,  including the money changer and money taking machines. The problem started when the new owner complained to Bill that he was losing significant amounts of money from his coin machines each week.

 

He went as far as to accuse Bill's employees  of having a key to the boxes and ripping him off. Bill just couldn't believe that his people would do that,  so they set up a camera to catch the thief in action. Well, they did catch him on film!  

 

 

That's a bird sitting on the change slot of the machine .

 

The bird had to go down into the machine, and back up inside to get to the money!

 

That's three quarters he has in his beak!  Another amazing thing is that it was not just one bird -- there were several working together. 

Once they identified the thieves, they found over $4,000 in quarters on the roof of the car wash and more under a nearby tree.

 

And you thought you'd heard of everything!! This gives a new twist to the term "nest egg". And to think the phrase 'bird brain' is associated with being dumb. Not these birds.

A Message from GOD

 

I just love the messages in this stamp set - SENDING THOUGHTS. They're so appropriate for so many different situations. You can't see it - but the dragonfly from DRAGONFLY DREAMS is colored with the CLEAR WINK OF STELLA - it's so sparkly and pretty in real life!

Tips:

• I used the TRIPLE BANNER PUNCH on the white banner
• I layered the Watermelon Wonder layer behind that and used my scissors to cut the banner end

Stampin’ Up! Supplies: 

• STAMPS – Window Shopping Bundle (144742 wood OR 144743 clear mount)
• PAPER – Whisper White (100730), Pool Party (122924), Sweet Sugarplum (141418)
• INK – Sweet Sugarplum (141395)
  OTHER – 1 ½” Circle Punch (138299), Big Shot (143263), Multipurpose Glue (110755), Silicone Craft Sheet (127853), Stampin’ Sponges (141337), Bone Folder (102300), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430) 

 

 

Instructions:

• Die cut the square die with the hearts (3) times from the 2” x 5 ½” Pool Party cardstock and (2) times from the 2” x 4 ¼” Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.  Save the hearts that fall from the die cut.
• Punch each with the 1 ½” circle punch.  If there are any lines that pressed into the cardstock, use a bone folder to smooth them out.
• Stamp “Thanks for being a great friend” in Sweet Sugarplum ink on the bottom right corner of the Whisper White cardstock. 
• Cut a Stampin’ Sponge into 6 pieces.  Place a Pool Party die cut circle on the Silicone Craft Mat.  Squirt a little of the Multipurpose glue on the end of the mat and dab a sponge into the glue and then onto the die cut circle.  Adhere next to the stamped image.  Repeat with the remaining Pool Party die cuts.
• Add dots of Multipurpose Glue to the hearts in the center and adhere a Sweet Sugarplum heart inside. 
• Cut a Stampin’ Dimensional in half and adhere to the center of the Sweet Sugarplum die cuts.  Press a Pool Party heart in the center.  Adhere die cuts to the card as shown.
• Add a few remaining hearts on the card and on either side of “for being a great”.

 

Dimensions:  

• Pool Party - 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score and fold at 4 ¼”
• Whisper White – 4” x 5 ¼”
• Pool Party – 2” x 5 ½”
• Sweet Sugarplum – 2” x 4 ¼”

Inlaid Dragonfly Technique Card

 

A soft and simple look - have you fallen in love with DRAGONFLY DREAMS yet? I have! This card uses an Inlaid Technique. I cut the dragonflies out of my front white layer, stamped on the card front that's underneath and then put the dragonflies back in where I cut them out of - super easy right? I only added dots of glue under the dragonfly bodies. That way the wings and tails kind of pop up a little bit because they are secured down - make sense?

I love the bold pop of color with the SUCCULENT GARDEN DESIGNER SERIES PAPER on the left - just a 1/2" stripe does exactly what this card needed!

This is the greeting set I used - SENDING THOUGHTS:

 

Download Inlaid Dragonfly Project Sheet

Dimensions:  

• Whisper White Thick 5-1/2 x 8-1/2
• Whisper White 4 x 5-1/4
• Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper 1/2 x 5-1/4

 

Instructions:

1. Die cut dragonflies from Whisper White front layer (4 x 5-1/4).
2. Stamp greeting on same layer with Smokey Slate ink.
3. Adhere strip of designer series paper to left side.
4. Stamp dotted image in Calypso Coral ink on card front several times so it will show under the die cut dragonfly images.
5. Adhere front layer to card base.
6. Glue die cut dragonflies back into place by placing glue behind the bodies of the dragonflies only - this allows the wings and tails to pop up a little bit.
7. Tie Calypso Coral Thich Baker’s Twine around card as shown.
8. Stamp “I know you’re sick & tired of being sick & tired...” with Smokey Slate ink on the inside of card.
9. Stamp large dragonfly in Calypso Coral ink on inside bottom right corner.
10. Enjoy!

Feature Friday - Die Cut Gift Box Set Video

I used an AQUA PAINTER and the new WATERCOLOR PENCILS to color my chickens. I love that I can use these high quality products and make it look like I'm a watercolor artist!

OSAT Blog Hop - All You Need is LOVE

 

WHOO HOO - today is BLOG HOP DAY!!! You may have just arrived from the fabulous Renee Ondrajka's blog or you might be starting here. Either way - you're in for a treat as you tour some amazing blogs and oooo and ahhhh over these projects! The theme today is all about LOVE!

 

 

I designed this adorable little box and card gift set and it's just perfect for the blog hop today! The little love notes are made using our Note Cards & Envelopes and the Sealed With Love Bundle shown on page 14 & 15 in the Occasions Mini Catalog. This bundle is amazing! The stamp set comes with 27 photopolymer stamps (my favorite rubber) and a matching framelit set with 14 different dies. And it doesn't stop there - there's a matching paper stack, wooden embellishments, a combo pack of white and red 1/8" ribbon and mini paper clips - WOW!

All of these cards are 3-1/2 x 5 with layers of Real Red that are 3-1/4 x 4-3/4 and then a layer on top of that at 3 x 4-1/2. All very simple.

 

 

My first card features the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack and the heart framelit - easy and super cute right?

 

 

 

Next we have that stinkin' adorable mini envelope - I die cut mine using Vellum Cardstock you so can see the "sending love" message on the little love note in the envelope.

 

 

And then I HAD to use those stinkin' adorable arrows and some red glimmer paper to bling this one up...

 

 

And who doesn't LOVE those lips??? They have to be my favorite stamp in this set of 27!!!

 

 

All the insides of my cards are decorated too.

 

 

I'm so happy with the way this project turned out! I can't wait to send these out next week!!!! You'll find a complete list of the products I used for this gift set down below the blog hop links. My box is 8-3/8 x 7-3/8. It's scored at 3/4, 1-1/2, 6-7/8 & 7-5/8 on the 8-3/8 side. And 5/8 , 1-3/8, 5-3/8 & 6-1/8 on the 7-3/8 side. I die cut the hearts on the right side of this layer. Check out my FEATURE FRIDAY VIDEO and I'll show you just how I made this box!

It's WAIT...WHAT? Wednesday!!!! I thought it was about time to show a shaker card with this adorable monster stamp set called YUMMY IN MY TUMMY...isn't it stinkin' cute???

After 35 years of marriage, a husband and wife came for counseling.

 

When asked what the problem was, the wife went into a tirade listing every problem they had ever had in all the years they had been married.

On and on and on: neglect, lack of intimacy, emptiness, loneliness, feeling unloved and unlovable, an entire laundry list of unmet needs she had endured.

 

Finally, after allowing a sufficient length of time, the therapist got up, walked around the desk and after asking the wife to stand, he embraced and kissed her long and passionately as her husband watched - with a raised eyebrow.

 

The woman shut up and quietly sat down in a daze.

 

The therapist turned to the husband and said, "This is what your wife needs at least 3 times a week. Can you do this?"

 

"Well, I can drop her off  here on Mondays and Wednesdays…………..but I  golf on Fridays.

Another Basket Weave Technique Card

 

Here's another Basket Weave card that I made last month. This is such a fun and easy technique....REALLY!!! It is easy!!! I have a video down below that will show you just how I did it and the template for the cutting lines is right here:

 Can I just say....the FALLING IN LOVE paper is AMAZING!!!! It is so GOR-JEE-OUS and soft!!!!

I made this card with all 6 different designs and it looked amazing every time!

Cutting & Scoring:  

• Pool Party - 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score and fold at 4 ¼”
• Vellum – 5 ¼ x 4
• A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper – 4 ¾ x 3 ½
• Watercolor Paper – 4 ½ x 3 ¼
• Silver Foil Sheet – scrap
• Calypso Coral - scrap

Instructions:

• On Watercolor Paper, stamp “Happy” from the Happy Celebrations set in VersaMark & emboss using white embossing powder and heat gun.
• Using the long splatter stamp, stamp on and around the embossed “Happy” in Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Pumpkin Pie.
• Lightly spritz the stamped paper with water using the Stampin’ Spritzer. Gently wave the paper to let the colors run slightly. Let air dry or dry with heat tool.
• Once the watercolor paper is dry, use the embossing folder to emboss “Happy” over the white embossed letters.
• In Calypso Coral, stamp “So Very” above the embossed “Happy” and stamp “For You” on a scrap of calypso coral. Trim scrap to banner shape.
• Using multipurpose glue, adhere the watercolor paper to the front of the Vellum, & adhere the DSP behind the vellum, being careful to conceal the glue (I made sure not to go beyond the borders of the watercolor paper on the other side of the Vellum).
• Use dimensionals on the corners and center of the DSP to adhere to the card front. The card front will be layered from bottom to top: Pool Party card base, Foxy DSP, Vellum, stamped Watercolor Paper. Using a Pool Party marker, flick ink splatters where you see blank space.
• Die cut the dragonfly from a Silver Foil scrap & adhere to the card front. Adhere the “For You” Calypso Coral banner to the card front.

Delicate Details - FREE Stamp Set

 

What a GREAT card - the little lace image under the ribbon is one of the FREE stamp sets available during Sale-a-Bration!!! It's called Delicate Details. You'll find all the products used on this card below in the PRODUCT LIST.

 

Measurements:  

• Mint Macaron:8 ½” x 5 ½”
• Tip Top Taupe: 2 ¾” x 3 ¼”  
• Whisper White:2 ½” x 3” plus scrap for pop-up sentiment
• DSP:  5 ½” x 2”
• Scrap pieces of Watermelon Wonder cardstock and Succulent Garden DSP for hearts

 

Instructions:

1. Fold Mint Macaron cardstock in half to create 4 ¼” x 5 ½” card base
2. Rub Embossing Buddy over Mint Macaron card stock.
3. Adhere lace image from “Delicate Details” stamp set onto Clear Block I and ink with Versamark. Stamp onto Mint Macaron case base.
4. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder over lace image, shake off excess, and set with heat tool.
5. Use snail adhesive to add Succulent Garden DSP strip along the top of the lace image.
6. Wrap piece of Sweet Sugarplum ribbon from the Succulent Garden Ribbon Pack around bottom edge of Succulent Garden DSP. Trim and secure with Mini Glue Dots. Set card base aside.
7. Using Jet Black Stazon, ink and stamp image from “Window Shopping” on front of Whisper White cardstock. Clean stamp and ink with Watermelon Wonder and stamp middle section of image onto scrap piece of Whisper White. Trim with Paper Snips and adhere to centre of sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
8. Adhere Whisper White card stock to Tip Top Taupe layer. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to place on right side of card.
9. Create a knot with piece of Sweet Sugarplum ribbon and use glue dots to secure next to sentiment on card.
10. Using Big Shot and Magnetic Platform, cut two hearts from scrap pieces of So Succulent DSP and Watermelon Wonder cardstock using small heart framelit from Love Notes Framelits Dies. Adhere to bottom right corner of sentiment using glue dots.
