What a striking Valentine!!! This swap card uses the VERY POPULAR Bloomin' Love stamp set and Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Die. I highly recommend the NEW Big Shot Die Brush. There's a video from Stampin' Up! showing how to use this Big Shot Die Brush below.

Don't you love the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper flowers???

Here's the video I mentioned - this Big Shot Die Brush will literally change your intricate die cutting LIFE! LOL!  It's the best $11 I've spent in a long time...no kidding! I am amazed that we now have dies for the big shot that look like they are laser cut - spectacular. I highly recommend using the Magnetic Platform and Precision Base Plate with one cutting plate as shown in the video - lots of great tips in this video:

A woman goes into the Bass Pro Shop to buy a rod and reel for her grandson's 'birthday'.
She doesn't know which one to get so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter.

A Bass Pro Shop associate is standing there wearing dark shades.
She says, "Excuse me, sir. Can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?"

He says, "Ma'am, I'm completely blind; but if you'll drop it on the
counter, I can tell you everything from the sound it makes."

She doesn't believe him but drops it on the counter anyway.

He says, "That's a six-foot Shakespeare graphite rod with a Zebco 404 reel and 10-LB. test line. It's a good all around combination and it's on sale this week for only $20.00."

She says, "It's amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter. I'll take it!"

As she opens her purse, her credit card drops on the floor.

"Oh, that sounds like a MasterCard," he says.

She bends down to pick it up and accidentally toots.

At first she is really embarrassed, but then realizes there is no way the blind clerk could tell it was she who tooted. Being blind, he wouldn't know that she was the only person around.

The man rings up the sale and says, "That'll be $34.50 please."

The woman is totally confused by this and asks, "Didn't you tell me the rod and reel were on sale for $20.00? How did you get $34.50?"

He replies, "The rod and reel is $20.00, but the Duck Call is $11.00 and the Bear Repellent is $3.50."

• Paper: Kraft 133674, Shine On Specialty DSP 140579, Birthday Bouquet DSP 140557, Shimmery White 101910, SAB Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack 141019
• Other: Aqua Painter 103954, Triple Banner Punch 138292, Gold Sequin Trim 132983, Wink of Stella Brush Clear 141897, Stampin Dimensionals 104430, Snail Adhesive 104332

Measurements: 

Kraft – 4-1/4” x 8-1/2” – scored at 5-1/2”

Shine On DSP – 4 x 5-1/4”

Birthday Bouquet DSP – 5” x 2”

Botanicals Vellum – 3” x 2”

Shimmery White – 4”x 4”

Sequin Trim – 7”

 

Instructions: 

1. Adhere Shine On DSP layer to card base with dimensionals
2. Insert Birthday Bouquet piece into Triple Banner punch and punch. Adhere this piece to your Shine On layer with Snail Adhesive. 
3. Stamp Sentiment on Vellum piece in Stazon ink and adhere to Banner about half way down.
4. Fold sequin trim piece in half and using a Glue Dot adhere to banner about 1/3 way down.  
5. Stamp Flower image onto shimmery white in Jet Black Stazon. Color your flower with Calypso Coral Ink using the Aqua Painter.  Color leaves in Old Olive. Cut out your image and adhere to card using Dimensionals. 
6. Apply Wink of Stella (clear) to petals and buds.
7. Enjoy!

Feature Friday - Party Pop-Up Shaker Video

When I first saw these thinlits at the OnStage event in Milwaukee last November I thought they were going to be somewhat difficult to use. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! They are so simple! It's hard to believe that something that adds such a big WOW to my cards can be so easy...but they are!

You get two different dies in the Party Pop-Up Thinklits - both of them are spectacular! Both of them can be used on the front of a card as a die cut or inside of a card as a pop-up - SUPER AMAZING!!!!

Fun Fold Botanicals

Here's a fun and easy card using FREE products!!! The Botanicals for You stamp set and the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper were the perfect combination for this card.

The Calypso Coral base is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" - folded in half and then just fold the front back. EASY PEASY LEMON SQUEEZIE!!! I used the Oval Framelits for the greeting layer and stamped some of the little flowers in Calypso Coral and Blackberry Bliss ink. One of the flowers on the front is punched with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack in Blackberry Bliss. DON'T FORGET TO ADD THOSE RHINESTONES FOR SOME BLING!

Botanicals Wall Art

Here's a project I've been so excited to share with you!!! We have a gift exchange at our annual Demonstrator Christmas party and this is the gift that I made for the exchange. I am in LOVE with the Botanicals Suite in the Occasions Mini Catalog! I combined the Botanical framelits with the Hello Life stamp "DO MORE OF WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY" to make a beautiful framed piece. The frame is for a 12" x 12" scrapbook page.

Here's a close up - this was really quite easy to make - all I really did was die cut the flowers and leaves...sponged some color in the middle of the flowers and drew some lines on them with my Real Red marker.  The leaves look like they are porcelain because I squished them in VersaMark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder - twice!

The words are embossed with black embossing powder and the designer paper is from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. Add a little burlap ribbon and white baker's twine and WAAA LAAA!

On the outskirts of a small town, there was a big, old pecan tree just inside the cemetery fence. One day, two boys filled up a bucketful of nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began dividing the nuts. "One for you, one for me, one for you, one for me," said one boy. Several dropped and rolled down toward the fence.

Another boy came riding along the road on his bicycle. As he passed, he thought he heard voices from inside the cemetery. He slowed down to investigate. Sure enough, he heard, "One for you, one for me, one for you, one for me ...."

He just knew what it was. He jumped back on his bike and rode off. Just around the bend he met an old man with a cane, hobbling along.

"Come here quick," said the boy, "you won't believe what I heard! Satan and the Lord are down at the cemetery dividing up the souls!"

The man said, "Beat it kid, can't you see it's hard for me to walk." When the boy insisted though, the man hobbled slowly to the cemetery.

Standing by the fence they heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me."

The old man whispered, "Boy, you've been tellin' me the truth. Let's see if we can see the Lord...?" Shaking with fear, they peered through the fence, yet were still unable to see anything. The old man and the boy gripped the wrought iron bars of the fence tighter and tighter as they tried to get a glimpse of the Lord.

At last they heard, "One for you, one for me. That's all. Now let's go get those nuts by the fence and we'll be done...."

They say the old man had the lead for a good half-mile before the kid on the bike passed him.
