CARD BUFFET

 

We are changing things up a little bit this month with the release of the NEW CATALOG!!!  You will have the option to pay $18 for the buffet or $10 with your $20 order!!! Come make 8 cards of your choice for only $10 and place an order for some of the FANTASTIC NEW PRODUCTS you'll get to try out when you make your cards!!!

Here's one of the fun cards you'll get to choose from!  This is a BRAND NEW STAMP SET called Sprinkles of Life!!!  It's on the last page of the NEW Catalog.  This is a special set that Stampin' Up! has made to MAKE A DIFFERENCE.  For each set sold - Stampin' Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).  Ronald McDonald House Charities keeps families together and surrounded by love when their children are receiving medical treatment far from home.  Help Stampin' Up! support more families through RMHC and the Ronald McDonald House program by adding this set to your library!

Hawaiian Grand Vacation Blog Hop

 

 

Welcome to the Hawaiian Grand Vacation Blog Hop!  You might have just "hopped" onto my blog from Alison Solven's blog - she does beautiful work!

 

 

The theme for this blog hop is to use one of our Pillow Gifts from the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation I enjoyed last week in Honolulu, Hawaii....

  

I was inspired by the beautiful necklace we received on our final night - shown below.  This unique piece of beautifulness was hand crafted by Laine Benthall - it's soooo delicate and GORGEOUS!!!

 

 

So here's what I came up with!  This card incorporates the Hello Life stamp set and Bouquet Bigz Die (both shown below).  

 

"Do More Of What Makes You Happy" is a theme that more people should take to heart - I live by this most of the time!  When all is said and done - I will be remembering the friends I have made, the memories of traveling all over the world and the fun we had here and there - not the house I live in or the car I drive.  I'm making memories that will last a lifetime!  I hope that you will take the time to DO MORE OF WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY!

 

My inspiration for this card - the beautiful necklace - incorporates a beautiful flower and a saying that I think is the THEME of my life...I received this gift by DOING MORE OF WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY - STAMPING!!!

 

 

 

Here's a close up of the flower - I used a black Sharpie marker on the rhinestone in the center of the flower and sponging the outside edges of my flowers with Daffodil Delight ink.

Here's a great gift and card combination idea!!!

 

Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Gift Bag

Supplies:

• Stamp Sets: For the New Two (w-137147, c-138562)

• Inks: In Color 2015-2017 Stampin’ Write Markers (138333)

• Paper:  Mint Macaron (138424), Tip Top Taupe (138422) and Whisper White (100730) card stock 

• Other:Mint Macaron 1” Dotted Lace Trim (138424), Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons (127555), Lovely Lace Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (133737), Big Shot (113439), Word Window punch (119857), Bow Builder punch (137414). Adhesive: Tear & Tape (138995), Mini Glue Dots (103683) and SNAIL (104332). Gift Bag. 

Measurements: 

• Card Stock:Mint Macaron: 3”x 3.75”, *3/4”x 5.5” and 4.25”x 11” (scored in half for card) and scrap for punching bow. Tip Top Taupe: 4”x 5.25” for card layer and *2”x 5.5”. White: 3.75”x 5”.                        *=pieces may vary in length depending on width of your gift bag

• Ribbon: 14”

Instructions: 

1. Use Mint and Taupe markers to color stamp and stamp on the top of white card stock. 
2. Emboss 3”x3.75” mint card stock using Lovely Lace embossing folder. Adhere to bottom of white card stock. Layer onto taupe card stock.
3. Wrap ribbon around the card layers and knot in the front. Adhere layers to mint card base.
4. Add faceted button under knot with glue dot. 
5. Use word window punch to punch slot along the bottom of the Taupe 2” x 5.5” card (Hint: Put the card stock all the way into the punch and line up punch with edge of card stock). Make sure card fits through the slot.
6. Adhere strip of Mint card stock to top of Taupe slot card. Punch two “bow” pieces and create bow using glue dots. Adhere bow to middle of mint strip. 
7. Adhere strip of Tear & Tape strip to the back of Taupe slot card under the mint bow strip ONLY. Attach to front of bag and hang card through it!

ALOHA SURFERS!

ALOHA FROM HAWAII

 

Here's a few more photos to share with you from our trip. This was the view from our room. I would sit out here every morning and watch the surfers. If you look closely - you can see all the tiny little people in the water.

 Here's a close up of what's going on in this amazing bay...

Hailey was so excited to learn how to surf!  I agreed to surprise her with a SEMI private surfing lesson.  WELL - when we got to the shack I was told that I would need two surfers and I would have to be the other one to get a SEMI private lesson....hahahahaha...that was not going to happen.  I had spent very little on our FREE trip to Hawaii so far and decided that a PRIVATE lesson would be a healthy choice for ME - wink wink!  Here she goes out for the first time!

 It was tricky to make sure I was photographing her...this photo is zoomed in a lot, but I could always tell it was her by her "stance" - she looks like a SUMO wrestler!!!  She made it up on the board every time except once - OMGosh!!!!  And she loved it!!!  She told me it was an experience of a lifetime and she could check another item off her BUCKET LIST! How awesome is it that at the age of 20 she's been able to experience sooooo many fabulous and exciting adventures???

Another MAN Card!

 Here's another card using the Walk in the Wild RETIRING stamp set.  This has been my GO TO stamp set for making MAN cards!!!

The DAD image on the front and the greeting on the inside comes from the April PAPER PUMPKIN kit - with each kit you get a sheet of Photopolymer stamps - LOVE THESE!!!

I used Confetti Cream card stock and Night of Navy for my base and small layer on the front.  The square image under the pheasant is an acrylic block stamped directly in Crumb Cake ink.

Aloha

I wanted to share some more photos of our trip to Hawaii.  Stampin' Up! took us to the Polynesian Cultural Center where we enjoyed a show of the different island tribes and their dances...it was a beautiful place!

MOOSE for the MAN!

Here's a fun card that my stampers enjoyed making this month - I LOVE FUN FOLDS!!!  This one is soooo simple!  I'm sad to see the Walk in the Wild and Itty Bitty Banners stamp sets RETIRING!!!

The Lost Lagoon base is cut at 5 x 8 - scored at 2, 3, 5 & 6.  The Soft Suede panels are 1-7/8 x 4-7/8 and stamped with Soft Suede ink and the Hardwood Background stamp.  I stamped off the background stamp and added that to the background of the Very Vanilla pieces too.

This is the back of the card - this Very Vanilla panel is also 1-7/8 x 4-7/8.  This is where I will write on my card.
