Real Pheasant Feathers!!!

This is one of my favorite stamp sets this fall!  I just love the Harvest of Thanks set! I combined it with the Walk in the Wild set and I have a winner! I needed a masculine design for a swap...and this is what I came up with...just dripping of masculinty!!! 

Jenny Peterson made a similar card using this layout that she shared at the Founder's Circle swap.  You can see Jenny's original card HERE.  Thanks so much Jenny!

Here's a close up of the pheasant....I used Crystal Effects on the bird to make it look shiney, like glass.

Thanks so much to my Uncle Pete for the REAL pheasant feathers!  If you know a bird hunter...just ask them for some too!

 

My card base is Soft Suede with the Woodgrain embossing folder - then I sponged the edges with Soft Suede too.  My tag is 3-1/8 x 2-1/4 - stamped in Summer Starfruit.  I used Early Espresso to stamp the pheasant and colored it with ink and Aqua Painters.  The Just For You is stamped in Cajun Craze.  I used scotch tape behind the tag to adhere the feathers.  What man wouldn't LOVE this card???

More Sticky Halloween

Here's another fun card made with the Painter's Tape Technique!  I used Wisteria Wonder, Pumpkin Pie and Gumball Green ink and cardstock.  And that Chevron Punch and matching ribbon just add to the fun.  I punched out my white layer with the punch and then punched the different colored cardstock chevron pieces out and glued them in the openings.

Harvest Easel Card

Here's a holiday card fit for a king!  I just love the Truly Grateful stamp set and that Burlap Ribbon is the BOMB!!!

Here's the details:

1. Fold your card in half and run the front through the Chevron folder
2. Then cut the front panels 1-1/2" in from both sides
3. Adhere the inside of your card (vanilla layer - 4-1/4 x 5-1/2) and then glue down both outside panels
4. You're going to fold the middle panel in half - mount your oval greeting on Dimensionals and you have yourself an easel card - easy peasy lemon squeezie!!!

I used Crushed Curry cardstock for my base, Very Vanilla for the inside layer, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso for the other layers.  Early Espresso and Crumb Cake ink.

Spooky Tape?

Here's a fun Halloween card that uses the coolest technique....Painter's Tape!!!  That's right - you use tape to make the background under the pumpkins!

I love how "sketchy" this inked up tape looked under my pumpkins.  You can see the other cards below and how uniform their inked tape images are - so you can make whatever type of background you want.

Here's how you do it:

*Use Painter's Tape - it's less sticky than masking tape

*Ink your tape up - sticky side in the ink - by pressing it into your ink pad

*Lightly press the inked side of the tape onto your cardstock

That's it!!!!  Super duper easy!

Painter's tape comes in different colors - but the blue it the most common.  You can get it at any home improvement store or even Walmart!

Cute Fish Bowl

Here's a fun little card...perfect for the little ones in your life!  It's made with the Circle Card Thinlits die and that little adorable single stamp called Fishing Around!  I received this card in a fun folds swap - so I didn't make it...but I can't locate it right now to say who did.

The artist used Crystal Effects on the stamped image - this is super fun - it makes the bowl look like glass!!!

Shaving Cream - so fun!!!

Here's a fun card my Technique Tuesday girls enjoyed making this month.  Shaving cream is so fun and the possiblities are endless!

I used the Gently Falling and Label Love stamp sets with the Artisan Label Punch.

Here are two cards - I used Rose Red reinker on the one on the right.  Both cards used Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze reinkers.  The images are stamped in Early Espresso.
