I didn't abandon you!!!

Here's one of the pages that was available to make at the CARD:SCRAP BUFFET last month.  I just love the Everything Eleanor stamp set - it has a very "vintage" feel to it!

100_7629

I chose a 5" x 7" photo of Hailey and her friends on prom night - the colors in my photo were perfect for this page.

I DIDN'T ABANDON YOU!!!

I'm so sorry that it's been so long since I've shared with you!!!  I was crazy trying to get ready for my Founder's Circle trip and on top of that - I caught a cold the Saturday before I was leaving on Wednesday. Being sick is never good - especially when you have soooo much to do before you can leave.  I was feeling a little better the day before I left...so things were looking up.  My cold turned into a sinus infection that continued to drain me while in Utah...until I finally went to a walk in clinic on Saturday of my trip...sheesh!  I got a prescription for very strong antibiotics...but they didn't make me feel any better until TODAY!!!!  So I'm back in the "land of the living" and ready to share some photos from my fabulous trip!

Here's what we were greeted with when we arrived at the hotel in St. George, Utah!

Stampin' Up! is known for spoiling us....REALLY SPOILING US!  Here's the gathering place where we can come and relax and laugh with our friends...and eat tons of candy and ice cream!!!  The candy bowls are overflowing all the time and this year, with the nautical theme, there was a cooler full of ice cream all the time!!!!  This worked out really good for me...I went from being chilled to very hot the entire time.  Nothing a drumstick can't take care of!  I ate a lot of them.

100_7857

This was our welcome dinner when we arrived on Wednesday...it was a meal you would get at a fish shack on the East Coast - complete with crab legs, shrimp, clams, potatoes and corn on the cob - DELICIOUS!!!

I'll share more photos in the next few days!

Faux Patina Tutorial

100_7716
Here's one of the cards we made at the Technique Tuesday class in September.
.
This is an easy technique with several steps - for a GORGEOUS result!
100_7714
1.  First you want to apply Crumb Cake ink directly to the flat side of the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder - just rub your ink pad onto the folder.  Run your white layer of card stock through the Big Shot so it looks like this:

100_7741
2.  Now sponge Marina Mist ink on the raised areas of your layer:
100_7743
3.  Then sponge Always Artichoke ink over the same area:
100_7744
4.  And we end with the sponging of Early Espresso ink:
100_7746
5.  Dab your Embossing Buddy over the layer - don't rub.  Or you can let it sit for a while to dry.  If you try the next step too soon - the embossing powder will stick to the entire layer.
6.  Now touch your raised images with the VersaMark ink pad...careful not too get too much ink on this step.  You can always add more.  Then emboss with gold embossing powder.
100_7749
100_7714
The first card I made with this techique had a little too much VersaMark ink - so almost all the raised images were covered in gold embossing.  On my 2nd attempt at it - I used less ink and it turned out really good!
I used the FROM THE HEART stamp set 126555 - Wood $39.95 or 126557 $28.95 Clear:

Summer Scrapbook Page

100_7660

Don’t you just love the colors I used for this summer page???  And it just so happens that the photos I found after I made the pages were the perfect color to fill them in! This was one of the pages that were part of the Card:Scrap Buffet in August!  Hope you can join me for the next Card:Scrap Buffet on Saturday, September 8th!!!  Call or email me to let me know you're coming!

100_7655

This is my stepdaughter Anna and hubby Scott, with daughters Molli and Andi.

The Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper (125409) is just the right spash of color.  I used the Fun Flowers Bigz Die (#121812) for the red flower and Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies (#127553).

Fish Punch Card

100_7712
How stinkin' cute is this???  I found a card among the thousands on the display boards at Convention using this technique to make a cute little fish and just had to give it a try.  You can make this card at the TECHNIQUE TUESDAY class on 9/4!  Just email me to register...
I used the Blossom Petals Builder to make the fish and the sea-weeds.  I used my Aqua Painter to do a color wash on watercolor paper for the background.  I put about 15 drops of Pool Party reinker in 2 tablespoons of water and then used the Aqua Painter to just wash the color across the paper.  Then I took Turquoise reinker on a "wet" tip of the Aqua Painter and tapped it against my finger until it splattered on the watercolor paper to make some darker "bubbles."
100_7758
I used the largest petal to make the tail - placing it on my piercing mat and running the stylus across it to make the swervy lines in the tail and bottom fin.
100_7711
I did the same thing to the "seaweed" leaf below.
100_7756
Stamps:  Petite Pairs  Ink:  Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie (sponging the fish); Old Olive (sponging the seaweed)  Cardstock:  Watercolor Paper; Crumb Cake; Basic Black; Old Olive; Pumpkin Pie; Pool Party  Accessories:  Pool Party & Tempting Turquoise Reinker; Blossom Petals Builder Punch; Square Lattice Folder; Big Shot; Aqua Painter; Sponges; White Gel Pen; Basic Black marker; Stylus; Piercing Mat
