Cute Scrap Page

Here's a super cute page I made for the Card:Scrap Buffet!!!

The next one is on Saturday - July 28th - 9am - 1pm at Trinity Lutheran - Menasha - mark your calendar and email or call to register.

Here's how it works:

  • The card buffet includes 8 cards for $18
  • There will also be four 12" x 12" scrapbook pages available for you to make
  • Each 12 x 12 page will equal 2 cards
  • Scrapbookers can make all 4 pages or make a combination of pages & cards
  • Mix and match will work this way:  1 page + 6 cards; 2 pages + 4 cards; 3 pages + 2 cards; 4 pages + additional cards @ $1.50 each

I made this page with the Pennant Parade stamp set and Patio Party Designer Series Paper.  Pennants are really hot right now in the stamping/scrapbooking world - the Petite Pennants Builder Punch is a great accessory for cards and pages!

The base is Pretty in Pink.  Baja Breeze layerd over the NEW In Color - Midnight Muse is a perfect match for the designer paper.

    Fun Pop Up Card

Here's one of the cards that my TECHNIQUE TUESDAY group made this month.  We do three projects - a technique card, a fun fold card and a punch card - or some other really cool layout.  I have openings in this group - if anyone would like to join - you'll be able to make fabulous projects like this one too - with me there to HELP you!!!

    My TECHNIQUE TUESDAY group enjoys:

    • making the "technique" for the month twice - once on an instruction card and again on your completed card
    • you'll be able to compile a book of techniques - complete with typed instructions and the actual technique on each card so you can refer back to these with ease
    • a fun fold card - I just love cards that open in a unique way
    • a punch card
    • typed instructions via email, complete with dimensions and all the ingredients used to make the projects including photos and/or video instructions
    • you'll meet and make friends with other stampers that are as crazy about stamping as you are!

This class is for my stampers that "want a little more."   The class is $5 with a $15 order or FREE with a $40 order. You are welcome to come as my guest each month or JOIN THE GROUP!  When you join the group - you'll enjoy being the hostess for one of the 10 month sessions - which means you'll get all the hostess benefits!!!  When you join - you commit to stamping once a month for 10 months - if you can't make it due to a schedule conflict - I make the projects for you and you'll receive them with your order when it arrives. It's a WIN-WIN!

You can check out past technique projects here:

You can come at 5:30 or 6:30 pm - all classes are held at Trinity Lutheran School in Menasha.  Here are the dates for my TECHNIQUE TUESDAY group in 2012 (2013 dates to be determined):

Here's one of the cards that will be available for you to make at the Card:Scrap Buffet Saturday (6/23) morning from 9am - 1pm!!!  If you haven't registered yet - you can just show up....I have 16 cards for you to choose from and 4 scrapbook pages.  The cost is $18 and you'll get to make 8 cards or 4 scrapbook pages or any combination of the two.

    I just love these new stamp sets - Everything Eleanor (Page 112 - 124162w & 124164c) & the single stamp called Beautiful Birthday (Page 44 - 125562w)!

This picture just doesn't do the card justice...I have to apologize for that. I'm on Hailey's laptop right now - a little learning curve to say the least!   I'm horrified to tell you that my MAC is in a coma right now...just happened last night.  It's dead - not sure why???  I'm headed over to the computer store to get a diagnosis...I'm also very stressed over it.  All my photos are on there (as well as my photo software - that's why this picture isn't so great) and we have picture boards and a slideshow to make for the graduation party on June 30th - OMG!!!  WHY NOW???  If they have to send it out for service - I'm gonna FLIP A LID.

Anyhoo...I can't use my screen capture to show you photos of the stamp sets right now - it's part of my APPLE software.  So you'll have to look them up online or in the catalog...sorry!

Hope to see you tomorrow morning for the Buffet - have yourself a wonderful weekend!

    Secret Stamper - New Session!!!

    Wood Blocks

Who loves getting handmade cards in the mail…how much fun would it be to get a couple every month???  Even more fun to get it from your SECRET STAMPER!!!!!  Local & long distance stampers are welcome (US only).

    Here’s how it works:

    • You need to send two (2) hand-stamped cards per month.
    • Please send them separately, not in the same envelope, at separate times.
    • Your two cards per month can include birthdays, anniversaries and holidays.
    • It is optional to send more than two cards a month.
    • It is also optional to send small items, such as stamped images, papers, patterns, stamping supplies, etc. as gifts.

To keep it a secret, you don’t sign your name on the card – you sign it “Secret Stamper.”  Please use a post-it note or piece of paper so the card can be recycled!!!  I'll send you all the details when you sign up.

In January, 2013 we will have a Secret Stamper Reveal Party where you can reveal yourself to your Secret Stamper.  Each stamper should bring their own beverage and a dish to pass.  We’ll bring all of the cards received for a show-and-tell.  If you are unable to attend, you can reveal yourself in your last card in December.

If you would like to join in the fun, copy and paste the “SECRET STAMPER INFO SHEET” below into a new email – and fill it in.  Please email it to me so I don’t have to retype and put in my computer.  Put SECRET STAMPER in the subject line of your email.  I’ll keep the original form for my records and email a copy to your Secret Stamper so they have some ideas for your cards.

If you have any stamping friends who are interested, please forward this to them and have them join us.  Ask them to be sure to let me know who “referred” them so I don’t match the two of you up!  This card exchange will run from July through December.  I will be emailing your SECRET STAMPER ASSIGNMENT at the beginning of July.

    Lovin' Those NEW INK PADS!

I'm am definately LOVIN" the new ink pads!!!  They aren't as firm as the old ones - so I have to remember not to push my stamps into them with so much pressure.  The image that they stamp is sooooo nice!  It's just like using your ink pad right after you reink it - EVERY TIME!!!

Below are some helpful hints about them.  Notice the labels on the bottom - you'll have the name of each color when you look at them from the end - perfect for the Ink Caddy - now I don't have to guess each time I look at the color on the end - I can read the name too!!!

You may have a few questions about the new foam pads.  The best way to find out about this fantastic new product is to host a party and see them in action.  Below are answers to FAQ's that let you know why you will want them!  Once you use them - you will LOVE them!

Q: Why did we switch from felt pads to firm foam pads?
A: We have worked very hard to improve the functionality of our Classic Stampin’ Pads. The firm foam allows for better ink coverage; plus it stays juicer and lasts longer.
Q: Do old Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills work with the new firm foam pads?
A: Yes, with the exception of Basic Black, Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, and Tempting Turquoise, which have been reformulated to work with the new foam pad material. We do not recommend using old ink refills in these colors with the new firm foam pads.
Q: Before I use my firm foam pad, do I need to tap it and massage the ink around?
A:  No. The firm foam pads are ready for use immediately. The best stamping technique with the firm foam pad is light tapping.
Q: My pad is too wet. What should I do?
A: We suggest using a paper towel to remove some of the ink. The amount of ink in each pad is carefully monitored in production to ensure the two-year shelf life.
Q: The firm foam on my lighter color pads looks blotchy. Is this normal?
A: Yes. The blotchiness is caused by the characteristics of the pad material. It does not affect the stamped image.
Q: When I first stamp with certain colors, my images seem a lot darker. Why is this happening?
A: When stamping with your old pads, you had to work hard to get even ink coverage on your stamp. With the new firm foam pad, the stamp gets a lot more ink on it so when you stamp, your image will appear darker.  Once your stamped image dries, the color will look normal.
Q: When I compare the firm foam pads to my felt pads, some of the colors don’t seem to match. Why is this?
A: The firm foam and felt will not match exactly. Ink reacts differently to different materials. We have quality checked each ink color to ensure that the stamped ink color is true.
Q: What is shelf life of the firm foam pads? How long will the pad last before I need to re-ink it?
A: Shelf life is two years from the manufactured date, which means if you do not use the pad for two years, it should remain well saturated. If you use the pad frequently, the pad may need to be re-inked before the two years.
Q: What is the best way to remove the color labels from the bottom of the ink pad?
A: Start at the right bottom corner (just above the barcode) and slowly peel the corner up by removing both layers.
Q: Which end of the case do you apply the label to?
A: The label goes on the end where you open the case.
Q: If the ink pad becomes saturated with ink or liquid, will it cause the label to fall off?
A: No, the label should not be affected. However, like most labels, if you pick at it or try and remove it, it may start to peel up.
Q: What are some additional features of the new firm foam pads that I can share with my customers?
    A: See additional features below:
    • The firm foam is nice and flat and will not become wavy.
    • The firm foam material does not imprint on the stamp images like the felt pad sometimes did. However, because the firm foam material is a foam base material, the stamp image can momentarily leave an imprint on the pad, which can transfer to a second stamped image. By inking your stamp on different areas of the pad or waiting momentarily for the ink to rise back to the top, you can easily avoid this situation.
    • The firm foam material is soft and has a nice bounce to it. It’s not hard like the felt is.
    • The ink lay-down (how the ink is absorbed into the card stock) is even, not blotchy, and dries quickly. It has an increased opacity and stamps solid images beautifully.
Q: Will the ink color collections include the newly formulated five colors (Basic Black, Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, Tempting Turquoise) during the preorder in May?
A: They will include the new formulations of Basic Black (Neutrals) and Marina Mist (Subtles). However, if you are planning on purchasing the Neutrals, Subtles, or Brights ink color collections, we recommend you wait until June 1, at which time the new ink formula will also be available in Basic Gray, Perfect Plum, and Tempting Turquoise.
Q: Will Stampin’ Spots use the new firm foam pad?
A: No. Stampin’ Spots will remain the same.
Q: Can I use the reformulated ink with my Stampin’ Spots?
    A: Yes.
Q: Can I use the reformulated ink with my Stampin’ Around Wheels?
    A: Yes.
