More Skating!

100_4655

I was fortunate enough to attend the Stampin' Up! Milwaukee Regional over the weekend...what a BLAST we had!  It started off for some of us on Friday night at a shoebox swap - organized by Laurie Zoellmer of Minnesota - she's in Dawn' Olchefske's group.  Big thank you to Laurie and Jan (she helped)!!!  We had soooo much fun!  The cards we made were amazing!  Here's my shoebox swap....a little different than the rollerskate I posted last week.  I used the Mixed Bunch and Bring on the Cake stamp sets with  different colors.  If you'd like to see the other rollerskate - click HERE.

The skate above was my proto-type...then I changed up the colors and made the card below.

100_4659

Just take a piece of 11 x 5-1/2 Whisper White cardstock that's folded in half.  Place it on the Stocking Die so the folded edge is just down from the top cut of the die.  This makes the top fold for your card.

I popped up the Pool Party circle with a Dimenional.  I used Regal Rose, Pool Party & Basic Black ink with Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party & Regal Rose markers.

100_4652

My wheels are made with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch and 1/2" Circle Punch - I used the Mixed Bunch stamp with black in for the center flowers....pop some brads in there and you've got a GREAT wheel!

100_4660

Here's the inside...

100_4656

I made this template below for my customers coming to the Punch Class on Wed morning and Friday night.  You can get more details on this class HERE.  This will make it super simple for them to punch the lace holes and lace up their skates.  A large darning needle makes lacing simple - start at the top hole, inserting your needle from the front - leave about 4-1/2" (measured on the template) of baker's twine so you can tie the bow when the lacing is done.  Everyone at the shoebox swap was surprised at how easy this card was!!!

It's Technique Tuesday!!!

100_4389

Join me tonight at 5:30 or 6:30 at Trinity Lutheran School in Menasha for a fabulous class!  Our technique is called WRINKLE FREE DISTRESS.  The possibilities with this technique are endless...I can't wait to play with more colors too!

Isn't this an elegant...distressed background?

100_4394

With the Technique Tuesday class you'll get to make 3 projects and an instruction card with the Technique right on it!  You can use these to make your own book of "TECHNIQUES!"  The class is $5 with a $15 order or FREE with a $40 order.  Just pop on in...I always have extras cut!

Ingredients  Stamps: Rue Des Fleurs  Ink: Night of Navy; Bashful Blue; Crumb Cake  Accessories: wax paper; fine mist spray bottle; heat tool  Cardstock: Night of Navy Base, 2-7/8 x 3-1/4, 1-1/8 x 4 Crumb Cake 4 x 5-1/4 Very Vanilla 1 x 4, 2-3/4 x 3

I used the Rue Des Fleurs stamp set - a BRAND NEW one from the Occasions Mini Catalog!

Screen Shot 2012-03-06 at 12.35.09 AM

Here's a little tutorial on how I did it:

Swipe your ink pads right on some wax paper or any non-porous surface (I used freezer paper).  You want to keep the inks from touching each other.

100_4384

Mist with water in a fine mist bottle until small beads form.

100_4385

Lay your cardstock down on the watered ink.  Use a heat tool to dry.  Your cardstock will curl up - don't worry - it will lay back down when it's dry.  I heated mine from the front and the back - alternating to keep the curling down.

100_4386

Stamp and embellish as desired.

100_4387

Here are the other projects we'll be making!!!  I'll show you more photos and details later in the week.  If you can't make it on Tuesday (3/6) - make sure you MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the next Technique Tuesday on Monday, April 9th - yes, that is a Monday...soccer season will be upon us and I have a big game to go to on Tuesday!

Sneak Peek!!!

102_4319

Here's a SNEAK PEEK at one of the cards you can choose to make at the Card Buffet next Saturday, February 25th!!!  We'll be having a blast at Trinity Luthern School in Menasha, where you'll be able to choose from 16 different cards!!!  Come join the fun from 9am - 1pm and stamp your heart out!

It's been a blast playing in my new Happy Place deciding which cards to include in this event.  I have a fabulous lineup for you!  I've been surfing the web for weeks for this event.  The card shown below is just one of the fabulous creations I found online.  There's such a wide range of cards - which made it extra fun for me.  I have crisp & clean, simple & fun, elegant and some for those of you that really like your cards to fall into the "work of art" category.  You get to pick and choose which cards you want to create.

102_4318

This card is made with the Bordering on Romance (125480 W $27.95; 125842 C $21.95) set in the mini catalog.  It has two stamps that coordinate with the Edgelits on page 7 too.  When I saw this in the mini - it really didn't do anything for me....but then I saw all the beautiful creations being made with it on the demonstrator art gallery on our SU website and knew that it was a WINNER!

Below are some of the products used for this card.  I hope you can join me on Saturday!!!  Just call or email to register.
