More Gift Ideas

I wanted to share a couple more gift ideas with you...

These glass jars are so easy and beautiful.  I made a whole bunch of them for my family.  You just take tissue paper, stamp and emboss with white embossing powder and then sponge on the color of your choice.  I made my tissue paper about 1-1/2" taller than my jar and about 1/2" longer for the overlap in the back.  Wash your jar with soap and water.  I used Mod Podge to cover the jar and a little bit on the bottom so I could fold the bottom over the edge.  Adhere your tissue paper and allow to dry.  I used an exacto knife to cut the top edge.  Then add another coat of Mod Podge and you're done!  Thanks to my friend France Martin for sharing this idea!

This was another perfect gift for my mom...I put a battery operated tealight in the jar for her.  She loves candles, but my dad can't tolerate the scent of candles anymore - so this was a GREAT alternative for her to enjoy the ambiance of a candle without any odor.

100_0590

Here's a couple jars I made...you could put the tealight in them or use them for storage...one thought that came to me was to put cotton balls in them and keep them in the bathroom for display.

100_0587

This doesn't have anything to do with stamping...but I just had to share!!!  My daughter made this for me...isn't it spectacular???  She found the photos on the internet and painted...YES painted the twigs, birds and words on the background.  She's amazing!!!

100_0638

She made this for her grama...with acrylic paints...my mom loves the northern lights!

100_0641

And last, but never least...she made this blanket for her papa!  I was skeptical at first...I thought the photos would turn out kind of crummy and it wasn't cheap.  Were we ever surprised!!!

These are all photos of her with her papa - they're VERY tight and share the same birthday.  The top right photo with the deer is such a cute story.  Hailey's been hunting with me since before she could walk.  She was out with papa that day and along comes a buck. She had her BB gun and he had his big 300.  He told her to shoot and he shot too.  Her comment "boy papa, that sure is loud."  He told her that she shot that buck and so it's been her first buck ever since!

I made the blaze orange outfit she's wearing...and being a girl...I put a little lace on the bottom of the jacket - it was soooo adorable and it's been passed down through out hunting family time and time again.

Photo Gift Cards

100_0599

Every year for Christmas I make my mom a whole bunch of photo cards.  They’re beautiful, quick and easy. Usually I just put a photo on the front of a card and that’s it.  This year I decided to grab some cards that had layouts that would work with my photos and made these!  She absolutely loves them and she sends out a lot of cards - BLESS HER!!!

Here’s one with the NEW stamp set called Mixed Bunch and the NEW punch called Blossom coming to you in the Occasions Mini catalog - January 4th!!!  I embossed it with Melon Mambo embossing powder.

100_0601

This card uses the NEW Labels Collection Framelits Dies for the black layer and the photo - I love the layering effect with these.  You get 6 dies in graduated sizes!!!

100_0604

With the negative of the Framelit from above - I made this card...I used the NEW Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Fresh Vintage - FREE when you place a $50 order starting January 24th!  The little words on most of these cards are old rub-ons I had laying around.  I wish we had more of these - I put most of them directly on the photos.

Here’s another set I made!

MAN Gift

100_0579

Making gifts for men with our craft can often be challenging...but men need kleenex from time to time...so I made my dad a MAN BOX!  I was so happy with the way it turned out too.  I think the Houndstooth Embossing Folder was pefect - it kind of reminds me of the metal on those big tool boxes you see in the back of pickup trucks.

100_0575

The greeting is from the Perfect Words exclusive hostess set.  If you host a Stampin' Up! workshop - you can order this set for only $9 (clear) with your hostess dollars!

100_0578

Here's my dad, opening a Christmas present...he spends alot of time in his chair and on the little table next to him is always a kleenex box...so I thought this was a perfect gift for him.  Everytime he needs a tissue - he'll think of me!

Another SAB Sneak Peek!

Here's another sneak peek card using the SPRINKLED EXPRESSIONS stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration promotion that starts on January 24th!!!

100_0482

I punched a bunch of flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch and layed them on a piece of white cardstock - this time using Dimensionals!!!  I wanted a deeper image and this seems to be the trick.  You can view the other SAB cards using this stamp set by clicking on SALE-A-BRATION under CATAGORIES in the right column on my blog.

I stamped the flower image in Pretty in Pink CRAFT ink and then heat embossed it with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.  It's soooo pretty in person.  The little flowers in the top right use the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and our Rhinestone Jewels.  And how about this new POOL PARTY SEAM BINDING???  This is another new product in the Occasions Mini catalog - going live on January 4th!!!

You can view my stacking order for the homemade texture plate on my December 20th post.

Here's a close up of the embossed flowers...

Here's my template...

The embossed flowers seem to show up better when I photograph the card at this angle:

I was truly grateful for the gifts that my team gave to me...they got together (behind my back) and presented me with the most cushy robe I've ever owned, those super soft socks, a huge Bubba Mug and bottle of pepsi and a couple gift cards...and told me they wanted me to take some time, relax and enjoy myself!!!!  When I arrived home from the party...I had to go Christmas shopping with Hailey...then I put on my robe, poured a huge glass of ice cold Pepsi, slipped into the most incredible socks I've ever worn and just sat and watched a Christmas movie....REALLY!!!  I never do this!  So THANK YOU from the tips of my warm and comfy toes for an amazingly relaxing evening!

Chickadees & Holly

100_0286

I'm soooo glad I bought this stamp set - I've used it for almost everything this holiday season and I LOVE IT!

Here's an elegant card I made using the easel layout - the Square Scallop Die is just perfect for this.  All you do is fold your cardstock in half and put it on the Square Scallop Die so that the fold is just inside the cutting edge.  So you'll have a card that opens with the scalloped edges on three sides.  Then fold the front of your card in half.  Cut a single scallop square and adhere it to the bottom part of the folded card...does that make sense?  It's kind of hard to describe some of this stuff sometimes!  It's hard to see in the photo - but I added Dazzling Diamonds to the berries - smashing!!!

100_0283

My all-time favorite coloring tool is the Aqua Painter...I use it with Watercolor Crayons, Reinkers, Ink Pads and Markers.  I colored with my markers on a non-pourous surface...like a piece of tile or your stamp case - then use the Aqua Painter to pick up the color and make your masterpiece!

Don't forget to decorate your envelope!

Sparkling Snowman

100_0551

Oooo la la...this is a beauty!  What an incredible THANK YOU card for your Christmas presents!!!

I've been saving it for you!  I was able to make this card at Founder's Circle in September at Jill Olsen's house.  Jill is my 5th upline with Stampin' Up! and we are all so fortunate that she lives in St. George, Utah.  Every year when we attend the top 100 trip - she invites us to her house for some great food, demonstrations and make-n-takes.

100_0556

The card is 5-1/4 x 5-1/4 and absolutely stunning.  It uses our square envelopes (shown below).

We used the Circle Die (shown below) to cut out the circles and then embossed them with the Snow Burst folder.  Sponged them with White Shimmer Paint (shown below) and the edges with Marina Mist ink.  Everything is stacked together with Dimensionals.  The nose is our Star Punch - we took a circle punch and just snapped the end off.  Don't you LOVE the Silver Glimmer Paper???  The arms of the snowman are pieces of the Snowflake Punch.  The snow on the bottom of the card is simply strips of white cardstock, torn and sponged.  And of course - lots of Rhinestone Jewels.  Amazing!

Stocking Builder Punch Not Carrying OVER!!!

This news just in....it's so hard to believe....BUT SU is not going to carry over the Stockings Builder Punch into the big catalog - this is a first with a punch.

STOCKING BUILDER PUNCH

December 20, 2011

Our occasion-specific mini catalogs allow us the opportunity to share the latest seasonal products with you and your customers, and we often carry over products from our mini catalogs into the following Idea Book & Catalog. This time, however, we have decided not to carry over the Stocking Builder Punch (item 124095) from the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog into the next Idea Book & Catalog. Instead we will offer other great designs in its place--not to mention a trendy, new design planned for next holiday season.

Once the current inventory of this punch has been depleted, it will no longer be available for purchase. We hope many Stampin' Up! stockings will adorn cards and brighten holiday projects this season and look forward to seeing what you create with the next seasonal design.

Here are some fabulous ideas using this punch...it's more than just a Christmas stocking!!!

More than just a Gift Card Holder

100_0561

I had a little time to play today...well I really needed some gift card holders...so I was making presents...but it was fun so I'm calling it PLAY!  I think gift cards are boring...they take no effort, not much thought...so I always have to give them in a creative way...this will do the JOB!

My friend France Martin shared these nugget boxes...and I had a blast making them.  I was really surpised at how simple they were.  I whipped up 3 of them in about an hour and this included my time to figure out the first one - that always takes the longest!!!  So fun.

100_0571

I used the LETTERS TO SANTA DSP and LETTERS TO SANTA QUICK ACCENTS.  This was perfect because I had some left overs from my Bag It, Tag It, Box It stamp camp project - you can view that HERE.

100_0570

Here's how you make them - the Simply Scored scoring board makes this project a breeze:
