Founder's Circle - Day 3
09/17/2011
Day 3 found us on a bus bright and early - headed for the city of Kanab for a fun day touring the Stampin' Up! manufacturing facility!!! Here's what we were treated to on the bus ride there by our amazing Angie...that's right..tons of CANDY!!!!
The reception that we received when we arrived was sooooo fun. Here's all the employees waiting with welcome signs...it really made us all feel like rockstars!
I just had to share these funny photos. You know I've always talked about "all the little details" that SU is famous for. Well this is another example of one of those. They not only turned the mens restroom into a womens restroom for our visit - but they covered up the word MEN on that door and put a little skirt on the image!!!!
Here's a photo of Shelli and I standing in her apartment living room. This beautiful facility comes complete with a gorgeous apartment above the plant for Shelli and her family to reside at when she visits the Kanab location.
I wish I could show you the tour we took inside the plant - but unfortunately photos aren't allowed in there. It was really neat - we were able to see how the sheets of rubber are heated on plates and cut into our precious stamp sets. I actually got to cut the rubber sheets on the production line and go through the picking line where I added the image stickers, wood blocks and sheets of rubber to the stamp cases! The line supervisor told me "I was hired!" Good to know I have somethng to fall back on - LOL! At the end of my employment stint - I was able to take home a brand new stamp set that will be coming out in the new Occasions Mini Catalog!!!
After our tour we headed to the city park that utilizes Stampin' Up!'s left over rubber for the playground area and were treated to a luncheon. Our lunches were packed in these adorable picnic baskets!!! Again - just another specail "detail" that makes this trip so fabulous!
Here's a photo of "my peeps" sitting with our feet in the RUBBAH! Barb, me, Dawn and Jane
Our nightime treat was a trip to the FABULOUS Tuahcan outdoor theater. This is the most incredible show I've ever seen...The Little Mermaid!!! I have to tell you that the theme of this one didn't grab me right away. But I'm soooo glad that I went - I've never seen anything like it. I was here a few years ago for a show and the water that comes cascading down from the red rock canyon is amazing - the background of the stage is actually the red rock cliffs. But the show itself is just amazing! The costumes were unbelieveable, the story line was filled with great humor and the acting - top notch! If you ever get a chance to come to St. George - you HAVE to see a show!!!
My trip has been filled with soooo much laughter my cheeks hurt! Yesterday after our tour we just sat in the gathering place on those great big sofas, exhausted, but laughing about everything. Shelli even came over to join us for awhile to hear how Penny Thomas couldn't just go take a "power nap" before the Little Mermaid show that night because she'd wake up in a "BLUE FUNK" - complete with animation by Penny - it was hysterical! Here's a photo of us at the show - with Bonnie Thurber (one of my absolute favorite SU employees) goofing around as I would expect from Bonnie! Shelli and her daughters sat behind us for the show too!
I have tons of other photos to share...but I really can't put them all on here. I will try to find some time to upload them to Facebook - that's a great place for them! If you're not my "friend" on FB - "friend" me now and you'll get to see everything!
Today is a day of relaxation....we will have our final "fairwell" dinner tonight - which I sure will be nothing short of amazing! Check back tomorrow for an update on my amazing trip.
Thanks for stopping by...
Now I know why I didn't go this here it was only 3 holds in the picture thing no place for me HA! Great picture
