Super Fun Fold Card!!!

100_1026
How stinkin' cute is this???  I had so much fun making it!  I received a gorgeous Christmas card from my good friend Denise using this layout....and I had to give it a try.  This is what I came up with.  I just fell in love the all the peaks and valleys on this card...and thought it was going to be really tricky.  So I sat down with my ruler and starting figuring things out.  Not so hard!!!

WE'LL BE MAKING THIS CARD AT THE FUN FOLDS CLASS on March 9th at Hobby Lobby at 10am and in Omro at 6pm. Will you be there???

100_1024

100_1023
Don't you just love the saying "happy birthday with a cherry on top" and then the cutest little cherries using the Red Glimmer Paper???

100_1025
OK - so do you want to know how to make this???  HERE IT IS!!!!

I started with the cutting first.  Your cardstock should be 12" x 4 1/2".  I cut my line first - shown here by the solid line below.  The Fiscars Paper Cutter is perfect for this - start 1" up for the bottom of your edge and cut up to the 7" mark.  Flip your cardstock over and do the same thing on the other edge.  Then insert your cardstock into the paper cutter the long way and score as shown.

100_1030
Once you have your cardstock cut and scored - you can refer to the 1st full card photo above to see which way to fold on your score lines - you will have several peaks and valleys in your card.  Now all you have to stamp up your layers and adhere them - how fun!!!!

Here are some of the products I used for my card:

Update on my great Sunday dinner...well - my mom wins on the pork roast award - HANDS DOWN!  I put a little bit too much water in with my roast...so it didn't cook down enough to get that nice rich brown (my favorite part) and my gravy was pale.  My mom ROCKS at pork roast!  And here's my damn bread (sorry about the french):

100_1028
Are you kidding me?  What the "bleep" is that?  Well...I think my yeast didn't work - what do you think?  I hate cooking!  But I'm usually a pretty good cook....hubby dumped the bread in the trash....I grabbed a tube of WHOMP biscuits and they worked just fine.  You know - the can of bisquits - you tear off the wrapper and then "whomp" the can on the edge of the counter and it pops open...always makes me giggle!

That Dang Flower Punch!

100_0698
Still feeling a little under the weather...something has been hanging on to me for the last 2-3 weeks.  It got ahold of me pretty good this last week...but never really knocked me down - if you know what I mean!  I woke up this morning - a beautiful Sunday in Wisconsin - with about 3-4" of fresh snow sparkling on everything - with more energy than I've had in a long time.  I started a breakfast of french toast and sausage links...while that was cookin' I mixed up a batch of chocolate chip cookies (Hailey tells me all the time "you can never go wrong with chocolate chip cookies mom!").  With my belly full and a few ibuprofen - I hit my dust ball house!  Our house is soooooooo dusty - I just couldn't stand it anymore.  Dusted, washed mirrors and TV screens on the 1st floor and then vacuumed the entire house - WOW!  Now that all that was done - I might as well get that big, juicy pork roast ready for the oven later and then decided to throw all the stuff in the breadmaker for a fresh loaf of bread to go with that magnificent roast...yes, I have my appetite back...and I really hate cooking! LOL!  So now I'm back in my dungeon, with the space heater singeing the hair off my legs (it's winter in Wisconsin people!) and my fingers are freezing as I get you all a great card for the day! HA!  You're all probably laughing now - wanting to be a fly on my wall when I collapse a little later today - LOL!

And now for the card...oh my....I'm seeing so many beautiful creations with the new Blossoms Petal Punch and Build A Blossom stamp set!!!  Here's another swap card I received from Minneapolis...so GLAD I went!  You can never go wrong with a stamp set and coordinating punch...super simple!

HAILEY UPDATE:

Several of you have been asking about my darling dauhghter....well, you can see by the photo below, that's she's recovering from ACL reconstructive surgery quite well - that $20,000 knee is looking good! LOL!  She's always such a HAM!  She attended the annual Kings dance last weekend - where the girls ask the boys.  She's a little over three months out from her surgery (they did bone graphs, put in screws and made a new ACL for her knee).  She's going to be discharged from regular physical therapy soon and then onto "sports ready" PT!  Lots of hard work ahead...but she hopes to be able to play on her summer soccer team.  The Doc says she's gonna have to work really hard to be able to achieve that - they say this is a 9-12 month recovery period.  If she wants it bad enough - she's gonna have to bust her butt to be ready!  Thanks for all your well wishes!!!!

Nature Walk

100_0830
The new Nature Walk stamp set is one of the most popular stamps sets in the Occasions Mini Catalog and one of my favorites!  This card was made by Cathy Miller, one of my TEAM members.  I've got her hooked on the 2-Tag Die - you know...I'm kind of obsessed with it!!!  I love the colors she used and the layout of this beauty!

Bold Blossom

100_0684
I fell in love with this swap card from the Minneapolis Regional Convention - what a beauty!  It's so clean and crisp!  It's from the Bold Blossom stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog - page 31.  This set is often overlooked in the mini...it just doesn't really look like much.   But it carries a BIG punch!

Here's the adorable stamp set:

Queen for a Day!

100_0612

When you're my hostess during Sale-A-Bration - you get to be QUEEN FOR A DAY!!!  How sweet are these paper flower pendants?  Would you feel special if you were wearing one?  YOU BET!  I made the red one using the Sending Love Designer Series Paper from last year...I'm still in love with that paper...and I think you can still get it on the Clearance Rack on my SU Website On-Line Store!!!!

100_0609

The Paper Flower Pendant below is made with the NEW Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  It's so soft and pretty!  Don't you think the Trinket Crown is the perfect embellishment?

100_0951

The idea for these flowers came from Kimberly Van Diepen - she demonstrated them in Nashville.  All you do is punch a circle from the 1 3/4" Circle Punch, smother it with Snail Adhesive and attach about 25 strips of DSP that's 4" x 1/4".  Once you have all those strips sticking out from your circle - you smother the circle with Snail again and bring the strips back so the ends meet - it's that simple!

Fun Flower Bigz Die

100_0134

Isn't this pretty???  I just love the Elegant Soriee Designer Series Paper - it adds such elegance to any project!  Here's my swap card from the Nashville Leadership Conference last month.  My wonderful friend Cathy made a bunch of them for me to take along.  I think the NEW Fun Flower Die from the Occasions Mini Catalog is the perfect accent too!

100_0132

Besides the gorgeous designer paper - my favorite part about this card is how it opens...it's not just your ordinary opening card - isn't it cool???  I think we'll be making this at the Birthday Card Palooza Stamp Camp on March 5th....if you want to join me...call or email to register!
