Let's all sing like the birdies sing.....

TWEET, TWEET, TWEET - TWEET, TWEET, TWEET

My dad's best friend (Hank) used to sing this song....he passed away several years ago - but it still comes back to me from time to time...he was a GREAT guy and I have a lot of lasting memories of the silly things he used to say and do.  So when I was trying to come up with a title for this project - this silly song popped right into my head!

How SWEET are these????  If you're registered for my Stamp-A-Stack this weekend - you're in luck...

You get to make one of these!!!!!

Mini Note Pads

BLING BLING!!!  I made these little Junior Mini Note Pads for hostess gifts!  So if you're hosting a workshop for me - you're gonna get one!!!  My SU friend from Colorado - Celisa - made one for me....so I just had to try them...EASY PEASY!

101_0181

Here are the details:

  • I bought a pack of Junior Legal Pads and took them to my copy shop - they cut them vertically for me - for a VERY nominal fee;
  • The Junior Legal Pad cover is Real Red 5 1/2” x 8 1/4” cardstock scored at 2 5/8” and 2 7/8” down the middle;
  • The little layer that covers the top of the notepad is 2" x 2 1/2";
  • The pens can be purchased at any office supply store - they have the clear barrel;
  • 11" of Pretty In Pink Satin Ribbon from the Occasions Mini Catalog for the cover;
  • 4" of Pretty In Pink Ribbon for the pen holder;
  • With All My Love stamp set (118134 Wood Mount & 118623 Clear Mount) from the Occasions Mini catalog;
  • I used Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and the Real Red Craft pad to emboss "Friend";
  • New Pinking Hearts Border Punch for the Pink layer under "Friend";
  • I have a PDF file with the calendar....leave a comment and I'll email it to you!

Here's a close up of the back...notice how I staggered the ribbon on the back.  If you do that - you'll be catching both pieces with the regular tape to help secure the pen holder.

101_0174

I used Sticky Strip in the top, bottom and both sides.  I put an extra piece over the ribbon too - I don't want the pen holder to fall out.

101_0178
It's hard to see here...but Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder was used on the "friend" stamp - just keeps up with the whole BLING of the Sending Love Specialty Designer Paper!

Rag Bag!!!

I LOVE PRESENTS!!!!!  Imagine my surprise when I got the mail a couple weeks ago and found a Priority Envelope.  I always use these envelopes for return swap cards - so it's not unusual for me to get one....as I brought this one in the house, I thought to myself...I don't remember having a swap coming???  But those of you that know me....are probably giggling right now because you know how good my memory is too!  I opened it up and HOLY COW!!!!  This is what I found!!!! HAPPY DANCE - HAPPY DANCE!!!  My friend and demo from up north (Nikki) made this and sent it to me - WOW!!!!  What a GREAT gift!  And it wasn't even my birthday...which is July 7th by the way - LOL!

Quilting with the Big Shot dies is all the rage right now....and here's a super simple project with a GREAT BIG WOW factor!  You can make them any size you want...from a small makeup case to a big beach bag!

She used the Square Scallop Die (shown below) to cut out the shapes.  You can cut 8 layers of material at once - I KNOW, RIGHT!!!!  She put some very thin batting in between each layer and sewed them with an "X" on each square.  Notice that the raw seams are actually on the outside of the bag....the whole "frayed" look is really popular right now.  Sew 9 panels together for the front and back and sew 9 panels together in a line to form the sides and bottom.  Don't forget to add the handles and closure before you sew the top seam.   Cut slits in all the seams so that when you throw it in the washer - they will fray with ease.

Don't you LOVE the matching card using the Petal Pizzaz stamp set???

101_0189

And then there was BLING!!!!  Nikki knows that her "boss" as she refers to me....LOVES BLING!  So she made sure she gave this black and white beauty the BLING that I sooooooooooo love!

Progressive Scrapbooking

I love to use Progressive Pages for scrapbooking workshops!  Here's one that my friend and demo, Rachael and I brainstormed over today.  It uses an Elegant Eggplant and Summer Sun color combo - these are the HOT colors right now!!!

This first sample is a 6" x 6" scrapbook page - this is the one that Rachael's scrapbooking workshop guests will all get to make!  The Summer Sun layer is the 2 Tag Die - I LOVE how it coordinated with the Circle Scallop Punch!!!  This tag makes for an adorable journaling layer!

101_0115

Then she'll demo the rest....this is the 6" x 6" page layered onto an 8 1/2" x 11" page with a little Always Artichoke thrown in and a couple more white layers for photos.

101_0117

And the GRAND FINALE - the 8 1/2" x 11" layered onto 12" x 12" Elegant Eggplant cardstock with the Swirly Decorative Strip Die running down the side!

Love is in the Air!

How fun would this be to get in the mail from me???  WELL...if you're my mom and dad - YOU'RE IN LUCK!!!!  I sent this cute little package out today - to them for Valentine's Day!  I had to call my mom to tell her not to look at her emails from me until I say so - kinda bossy heh?  She's a subscriber!!!  I didn't want her to see her surprise here - before the mail arrived.

The card is totally CASED and I got the idea for the CD case & licorice from Leadership.

I'm still IN LOVE with the Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper - if you don't have any yet (GASP!!!) you have to GET SOME!!!

 101_0099

Here are the details for the CD Case:

The Back Insert Layer is cut at 6 7/8” x 4 5/8” (score at 1/4”, 5 5/8”, 5 7/8”, 6 1/4” & 6 1/2” on the long side)

The Front Strip is cut at 2” x 5”

Instructions:

· Take the black part out of the CD;

· Fold the back insert layer on Score Lines;

· Place the back insert layer into the CD case with the single scored edge on the right;

· On the left side – fold scored lines into a box shape to fill in where the CD case is missing;

· Punch edge of Front Strip with the Border Scallop Trim Punch and adhere to front of CD case with SNAIL adhesive;

· Die-cut Scalloped Heart of Hearts – adhere to CD case front with Dimensionals;

· Stamp “Love You Much” and punch with the Large Heart Punch – adhere;

· Tie with Real Red Satin Ribbon – TAA DAA!!!!!

Fill your CD case with six pieces of licorice – shorten licorice to fit. AND TAAA DAAA!  Stinkin' Cute!
