The Master is at it AGAIN!

Hailey's been working hard trying to finish high school...and had a little fun being creative with the cover of her Memoir assignment.  She's such a good writer - I can't wait to read it...and this project sure gets it off to a fabulous start!  I came home to a few items laying on my desk...she did a pretty good job cleaning up after herself...but she dug out several retired alphabet sets...I wish you could see this in real life - the silver glitter paper is just stunning!

I just love all the elements - she's soooo darn creative!!!

The more I look at this project - I think I can modify this a little bit and use it for one of the scrapbooking pages for my buffet on Saturday!!!  Click HERE to see the details.  I hope you can make it!

The Flirtatious Specialty Paper is amazing - and I'm sad to say - RETIRING!!!  The Serif Essentials Alphabet dies are retiring too.  I've used these countless times over the last couple years.  I actually received them FREE from Stampin' Up! for an audio interview I did for demonstrator support a couple years ago!

This Alphabet Die Set has served me well - I've used it to make party banners, for titles on my scrapbook pages, to make bulletin boards...the possibilities are endless!  It's a little pricey - but well worth the investment - I will have this for the rest of my life...and there's alot of parties left for me to decorate for!!!

The Nursery Nest Designer Series Paper was perfect for my page.  Don't you love the ric rac?  I made this with the Tasteful Trim die - I've used this die so much in the past for my card making too!!!

And here's my finished page - with an adorable chubby baby...yes that's Hailey! She was so round when she was a baby that she had 4 rolls on the inside of her thighs!  I can remember taking her up north to visit grama and papa and my mom said "oh my - what have you done to my baby?"  She was such a chunker!!!

In other news...It's been extremely stressful around here since last Saturday...we've hit a few bumps and our pool guy really let us down - mind you...I've been working with this guy for 14 years - one of his best pool customers!  I called last week to inform him that we were replacing our pool liner on Saturday.  "Oh, dont' worry Kelly, I'll have everything ready for you!"  When I showed up on Saturday - nothing was ready...NOTHING!  I spent 45 minutes running around his building with him trying to find all the seals, gaskets and face plates that we needed.  I needed about 20 different items and left with 3...YES - I said 3!  Then when the guys went to set the liner in place - some rods were missing.  I think this was almost the last straw for hubby...when he called the pool guy he insulted hubby and hubby hung up!  Too bad for him we won't be seeing him anymore...

And when I left for soccer last night....things were starting to look up...WAYYYY UPPPP!  YIPEE!!!  Huge thanks to son-in-law Scott Haag and friend Eric Meyer - they've been amazing!  And the biggest THANKS goes to hubby - he's been the one in charge of all the maintenance, winterizing and opening of my BABY for the last 14 years - I use my pool almost everyday in the summer and he spends 10 minutes a week in it!  He's a GREAT pool boy - with benefits!!!  Hopefully - my next update will have a pool full of water - that stays full of water!

Scrapbooking Buffet!!!

CALLING ALL SCRAPBOOKERS!!!!  We're gonna have some scrapy fun next Saturday - to go with our inky fun!  

This is one of the pages available to my Card:Scrap Buffet customers.  I just love this Twitterpated Designer Paper - it's only available until the end of this month - GASP!!!  It's hard to tell in this photo - and REMEMBER - cards and scrapbook pages looks sooooo much better in real life - I used Pool Party Designer Paper from the In Color Paper Stack for the background...it's the one with all the printing on it.  Soo soft and pretty.

Thoughts of You has a lot of great words in it for scrapbooking - that's where the "Memories" came from.  The flower is from Vintage Vogue - REITIRING!!!! Another GASP!

Notice how the Early Espresso background paper looks segmented?  Don't mind that - I didn't have any 12" x 12" in this color - so I had to make it from 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock - tee hee!!! Don't worry - I have it on my order for the buffet.

Here's a closeup....I just love Mocha Morning Designer Series Paper (#122366) - it's soooo elegant looking.  And it matches the swirly image in the Elements of Style (#118611) stamp set perfectly.  The circle elements at the top of each of my tag elements are from the Mixed Bunch (#125535) stamp set.  I think they make perfect Faux Brads when you use white craft ink.

This page is meant to have a long photo on the blank Very Vanilla area - I can't wait to go through my photos and find the perfect ones to fit these pages!

Buttons are really hot - they make a great embellishment for scrapbook pages.

Aren't these colors beautiful?  The two papers on the right are actually raised velvet!!!  They're also shown in true color below.  My photos look kind of washed out - bad lighting tonight I think.

Another Scrappy Purse!

I had so much fun making this!!!!  Every year for Hailey's birthday - I make her a "year in review" birthday card...this is it!!!!  It shows all the fun things she did since her birthday last July.  She loves it!!!

This little purse holds 73 photos - holy cow!!!!  All I did was cut 12 x 12 cardstock to 6 x 12 and scored it at 4" and 8".  These are all just connected in an accordian.  Super simple!!!!  You can find my original purse HERE.

Fun Day with Middle Schoolers

 

I had a BLAST last Friday with the middle schooler's at St. John Neumann for their Special Interest Day!  I was one of many providing the kids with a super fun day to kick off their spring break!  They were able to participate in two classes - a scrapbooking class and a card making class.  I shared one of their Scrapbooking projects last week.  You can view that HERE.

Here's one of the cards they enjoyed making...a perfect theme for their age group.  I gave them the option of making this a birthday card or a Father's day card.

 
And then they enjoyed making this Mother's day card - originally designed by Laurie Zoellmer.  It uses the BRAND NEW Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper - coming to you in our April Promotion!!!

 
Here's the 2nd project for the scrapbooking class.  I thought something masculine would be in order...to go with the Father's day card.  I made this as a 5" x 7" - perfect for framing and giving to all the wonderful dads for their special day!  This is my FABULOUS, WONDERFUL, MAGNIFICENT dad!  The BEST dad a girl could ever ask for!!!!  YES - I LOVE him dearly!
