My Digital Studio and My Digital Studio Express—What’s the Difference?

We’ve had a few questions lately about the differences between our two software options: My Digital Studio and My Digital Studio Express. Either option gives you the same great digital design program. The differences between the two are in the delivery method, amount of digital content, and price. 

 

I could explain all the differences in great detail, but I thought that would make for a very boring blog post. So I made a quick video for you instead (because I’m nice like that). The video will help you understand the differences between the two versions so you can decide which is best for you. In a nutshell, My Digital Studio Express is My Digital Studio software that you can download directly to your computer without having to wait for anything to be shipped to you. The program is exactly the same as the disc version of the software, but it contains less digital content. (To see what content is included in My Digital Studio Express, click here.)  The inexpensive price makes My Digital Studio Express a great product for those of you who want to try digital but aren’t ready to jump in with both feet just yet. 

If you have purchased My Digital Studio Express and fallen in love with digital designing, of course you are going to want more downloads. You can pick and choose downloads individually, or you can order the Express Booster Pack to update your program with all the content included in the disc version of the software. That’s over $500 US/$600 CAN worth of content for only $39.95 US/ $49.95 CAN!  You don’t need to purchase the Express Booster Pack if you have the DVD software version, because you already have all that wonderful artwork.

Q: How long can we take advantage of the My Digital Studio Express trial?
A: This is an ongoing offer. We want all our demonstrators and customers to be able to try My Digital Studio.

Q: What digital content comes with the My Digital Studio Express Trial?
A: My Digital Studio Express includes one stamp brush set, 12 Designer Series Paper patterns, 81 embellishments, 26 punches, and 5 designer templates. You can view a list of the included content here.

Q: What's the difference between My Digital Studio and My Digital Studio Express?
A: My Digital Studio Express is My Digital Studio software that you can download directly to your computer without having to wait for discs to be shipped to you. The program functionality is exactly the same as the disc version of the software with less digital content. Q: Do I have to have access to the Internet to use the trial?
A: Yes.  You need access to the Internet both to place your order (on OEX for demonstrators, or as an online order for customers) and to download the program.

Q: Can I get the My Digital Studio Express Trial on a disc?
A: No. The My Digital Studio Express Trial is only available as a download over the Internet. However, the file is not large, so even if you have a dial-up internet connection, you will still be able to download the program.

Q: What are the system requirements to use My Digital Studio?
A: You can see the system requirements for My Digital Studio here.

Q: How do I order the My Digital Studio Express Trial?
A: As a demonstrator you can add the free My Digital Studio Express trial (item 129600) to your online shopping cart. You do not need to purchase any other items with the My Digital Studio Express trial, but you can add it to an order with stamping supplies or other digital downloads.

Q: How do my customers order the My Digital Studio Express Trial?
A: Your customers can order My Digital Studio Express through your online store. If you do not have an online store, they can order the free trial at stampinup.com. They can order the free trial by itself, or they can add it to an order with stamping supplies or digital downloads. If the My Digital Studio Express Trial is the only item they order, they will not be asked for any credit card or payment information. If they are new customers, they will need to create an account.

Q: How do I install the My Digital Studio Express Trail software after I have ordered it?
A: Once you have ordered your My Digital Studio Express Trial, click Digital Download on the demonstrator website. You can then download the program from the New Purchases section.

My Digital Studio!!!

 

 

The My Digital Studio version 1.0.5 update is now available. With this latest update, you will receive functionality upgrades as well as access to seven new professional print output products--including a trifold card, a journal, a 5.5" x 6.5" calendar with easel, and four postcards.

It is important that you have the most recent version of the My Digital Studio software prior to installing the Professional Print Product Update.

Updating your software:

• If you have installed the initial update (version 1.0.1), simply click "Help" and select "Check for Updates" in the My Digital Studio software. The update will be performed automatically.
• If you have not completed the initial update, download the My Digital Studio update for a PC (version 1.0.1), or download the My Digital Studio update for a Mac (version 1.0.1). Then, complete the steps listed above to get the most recent update.
• Please note: once you download and install the update, your My Digital Studio software will display as My Digital Studio "1.0.5.665" in the About My Digital Studio screen under the Help menu.

And the back cover...I used to say this to her every morning on the way to school - she would always tell me NO when I asked the question and give me a big grin when I told her "more than anything in the whole wide world!"  I don't drive her to school anymore...she drives herself now (oh...where has that time gone?)...but I still ask her this question from time to time and everything still goes the same - I love it!

I took some time this summer to make my daughter's birthday card....I always do some type of little accordian album or other mini scrapbook as a  "year in review." I put all the highlights of her year since her last birthday...she LOVES this!  This year I decided to do a "My Digital Studio" album...because I was running out of time and I knew it was going to be easy and quick. 

Here are a few photos of the book I made for her.  The album is 8" x 8" - do your recognize the definition in the top right corner?  That's from the Define Your Life stamp set on page 161.  I thought it was very appropriate - she is such a delight!

 
Here is the first page - I made the photo big enough to cover the entire page and then faded it out so it looks like it has vellum over it.  I asked her for her favorite "words of advice" or "phrase" that I've said in the past and this is what she came up with...and I thought she wasn't listening!!! LOL!  It says "always have integrity, even when no one is watching."

 
Here's a camping trip she always goes on with my brother and sister-in-law...

 
She loves her high school football nights!  Her boyfriend plays on the team...

Southern Caribbean Cruise - Day 8

And the adventure ends here....back in San Juan, Puerto Rico on a very rainy, gloomy day!

This was a little weird....this guy just paddled through the canal on his surf board...don't really know where he was going???

Cruise ships are well known for their towel buddies....here are the VERY creative ones made by our room attendant....
