Photo Gift Cards

Every year for Christmas I make my mom a whole bunch of photo cards.  They’re beautiful, quick and easy. Usually I just put a photo on the front of a card and that’s it.  This year I decided to grab some cards that had layouts that would work with my photos and made these!  She absolutely loves them and she sends out a lot of cards - BLESS HER!!!

Here’s one with the NEW stamp set called Mixed Bunch and the NEW punch called Blossom coming to you in the Occasions Mini catalog - January 4th!!!  I embossed it with Melon Mambo embossing powder.

This card uses the NEW Labels Collection Framelits Dies for the black layer and the photo - I love the layering effect with these.  You get 6 dies in graduated sizes!!!

With the negative of the Framelit from above - I made this card...I used the NEW Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Fresh Vintage - FREE when you place a $50 order starting January 24th!  The little words on most of these cards are old rub-ons I had laying around.  I wish we had more of these - I put most of them directly on the photos.

Here’s another set I made!

And another set!

And another set!!!

I LOVE my mom!!!

Sparkling Snowman

Oooo la la...this is a beauty!  What an incredible THANK YOU card for your Christmas presents!!!

I've been saving it for you!  I was able to make this card at Founder's Circle in September at Jill Olsen's house.  Jill is my 5th upline with Stampin' Up! and we are all so fortunate that she lives in St. George, Utah.  Every year when we attend the top 100 trip - she invites us to her house for some great food, demonstrations and make-n-takes.

The card is 5-1/4 x 5-1/4 and absolutely stunning.  It uses our square envelopes (shown below).

We used the Circle Die (shown below) to cut out the circles and then embossed them with the Snow Burst folder.  Sponged them with White Shimmer Paint (shown below) and the edges with Marina Mist ink.  Everything is stacked together with Dimensionals.  The nose is our Star Punch - we took a circle punch and just snapped the end off.  Don't you LOVE the Silver Glimmer Paper???  The arms of the snowman are pieces of the Snowflake Punch.  The snow on the bottom of the card is simply strips of white cardstock, torn and sponged.  And of course - lots of Rhinestone Jewels.  Amazing!

Occasions Mini Sneak Peek!!!!

Ooooo La's a beautiful new stamp set from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog!!!!  As a demonstrator - we get to order from this mini catalog starting December 1st - ohhhhhh the anticipation!

If you'd like to get on my Mini Catalog mailing list and get a hard copy delivered to your mailbox - pop me an email ( with your name and address and I'll make sure you get one as soon as they are available!!!

This set has a definate vintage feel to it - so I just had to rough up my edges to make this card look OLD!  I just love the Baja Breeze Seam Binding and the Crochet Lace ribbon!  I embossed the image and sponged it with Not Quite Navy ink...such a simple technique with so much WOW!

I used my bow tie jig for a perfect bow every time!!!  Here's  a link to the tutorial showing how to use the jig and the dimensions showing you how to make your own:

A GREAT Background!

Here's another card for my Backgounds class on Wed/Thurs - it's so much fun to make your own...doesn't it look like designer series paper?

If you'd like to come to the class - click HERE to see the details.

I had a customer recently ask me how I kept track of which stamps go in which sets?  I like to photo copy the sticker sheet before I mount my wood stamps and tape the photocopy to the inside of the lid.  This set - Occasions Alphabet - is double mounted and a BRAND new addition to my collection!

Here's a close up - I love using the Punch Pack flowers for a WOW embellishment!

Austin's Special Day!

It was a GREAT day to make a SPECTACULAR birthday card for a boy...that boy is Hailey's boyfriend Austin.  He turned 18th today - OH MY!

I just had to use a FOOTBALL theme....he's soooo passionate about his sport!  I used a photo from the football website - it's my all time favorite!  Don't you just love the sunset in the background?  That's Austin, 2nd from the left - a GREAT photo of the 4 team captains.  I'm also thrilled to tell you that the boys won their game Friday night - WHEW - and made it into the playoffs!!!!  We find out tonight when their 1st playoff game is.

This card is BIG...a whole sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" folded in half.  Here's the inside...

Here's some great photos of the birthday boy doing what he loves!!!  A photo of Hailey and Austin...

I think that red guy is scared...look at the mean look on Austin's face!!!

Here's one of my favorites - just sacked the quarterback!!!

And of course - our fans!!!  Every high school football stadium should look like this on a Friday night!!!

Franky is my FAV!

How cute is this???  I love Frankenstein!  And I love the unconventional colors in this card.  I think I received this one from our Founder's Circle swap...but can't locate the card right at the moment to make sure.

These Lollies are super easy to make now that we have the Simply Scored Tool!

Here's a few little tips:

  • Lay your Designer Series Paper on the Simply Scored Tool and score every half inch - then turn the paper over and score every half inch, in between the lines you just scored.  This will keep your accordians even when you fold them.
  • Make sure you use the larger end of your stylus for designer paper - it's delicate and that end will prevent tearing.
  • I like to use a small circle of the Sticky Paper (die cut from the Circles #2 Die) to secure my Lollie in place. Punches will not work on this paper - you need to cut it out or die cut it.

Here are a few of the products used for this card:
