Beveled Windowpanes

Who Loves Taffy?

I DO!!!!  I actually chipped my front tooth snacking on the taffy I had left over after this project - DANG!!!  This is a cute and affordable Valentine gift.  I used a Starbucks bottle - had to have someone drink the stuff - I don't like anything that tastes like coffee!  I thought the Beveled Windowpanes were the perfect embellishment on my bottle.  And you have to love the Pinking Hearts Border Punch - it adds that "little something" to your project!  What's that shiny ribbon you might be asking yourself?  It's the Rose Red Seam Binding in the Occasions Mini Catalog - I just had to have all the new colors.  The seam binding is so sweeeet!

Here are some of the products I used for this cutie:

Scrapbooking with Beveled Windowpanes

Here's another project I made with the Beveled Windowpanes - they're a new product in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  GREAT value too - you get 12 of them in three different sizes for $7.95!

I used the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper (117167) for this 6" x 6" page - I just LOVE how our double-sided Designer Series Paper packs match - it makes creating those priceless scrapbook pages sooooo easy!

Here's a close up of the Windowpane - I used the Take A Spin stamp set for the "Make a Wish" - there are so many great words on the images - just use a marker and pick and choose what you need.  The photo was from Christmas last year - so "make a wish" was the perfect phrase:

Friends Rock is such a cut stamp set.  It's a perfect set if you like to color and as you can see here, if you don't like to color it's still perfect!!!

Colored Beveled Windowpane Tutorial

Here's one of my demonstration techniques from Leadership....I call it "colored" Beveled Windowpane and you're gonna love it!

1) First you take some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and add a few dots of Classic (dye based) reinker - I used Not Quite Navy here.

2) Tap that around on the BACK of your windowpane and heat set it.

3) You can stamp directly on the back of your windowpane with StazOn ink or add some designer paper - like I did here.  These butterfly images are from the Botanical Gazette DSP pack.

4) Add your ribbon - I used Crumb Cake Seam Binding - I can't tell you how much I LOVE the seam binding and we have a bunch of new colors in the Occasions Mini Catalog!

TIP:  I applied Crystal Effects to the ribbon on the back of the windowpanes so that when you layer it on the butterfly paper or on anything - the glue will be hidden behind the ribbon.

Here's the finished card!  I layered the windowpane on the 2-Tags Die - after I cut off the bottom, on the score line.
