This is just one of the many ideas I have in store for my stamp camp.  We'll be making gift tags, gift bags, and all kinds of boxes...you're gonna love it!!!!

DATE:  Saturday, December 3rd

If you can't make my stamp camp - you can make your own Tissue Box Cover at home...

I used the Northern Flurry Embossing & Polka Dot Embossing Folders.

Base:  2 @ 5-1/8 x 9-1/2 - score at 1/2 & 5 - use liquid glue to glue the two panels together.

Lid:  6-9/16 x 6-9/16 - score at 1" on all sides - cut the tabs - run through the Big Shot with the 3" circle die in the center. Glue tabs together.

Put base over your tissue box - tissue boxes can be different heights (I found this out the hard way).  Put glue on edges of lid and place on top of box.

Layers for sides:

4 @ 4-1/4 x 4 (box)

4 @ 4-1/4 x 3/4 (layers for side of lid)

1 @ 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 (layer for top - run through Big Shot on 3" circle die)

1 @ 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 (punch with Decorative Label Punch in the middle and layer on top over hole for kleenex)

Emboss and sponge your side panels - stamp your image and glue to sides of box.  Do the same with the little layers on the sides of the box top.

This is a pop-up card - I love these!!!  The base is 4-1/4 x 11 - scored at 1", 2-3/4", 5-1/2", 7-1/4", 8-1/4" & 10" - cut a slit at the 5-1/2" score line about 1/2" from each edge.  Fold your card base up to look like the one below.  The layers for the snowman  - Riding Hood Red 4-3/4" x 3-1/4", White 4-5/8" x 3".

Pop Up Penguin Card

This card was sooooo fun!!!!!  The penguin is made with the 2-Step Owl Punch - just cut the ears off the owl and you have a penguin!  I love it when a tool does double duty for us.

The nose is the heart on this punch - turned upside down.  And the fins are the large oval punch - just punch out from your black cardstock and then use the scrap that's left over to punch slivers for the fins.

The snow on the front is a piece of 5-1/2" x 2-3/4" white cardstock - torn in half.  I used the bigger piece as the first layer (the taller one) and the other piece I tore off as the lower snowbank.  I layed my torn pieces on a scrap of typing paper and ran the 2-way glue pen acrossed the torn edge and dusted with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.....WOWEEE!

Here's the inside of the card - with the pop up.  I received a beautiful card from Founder's Circle with this technique inside.  My Technique Tuesday stampers asked last month to learn this technique for our class this month.

Here's how I cut the inside pop up channel.  Place your cardstock in the paper cutter at 2-3/4".  Cut from 5" to 10-1/2" down the edge.  Then move your cardstock over to 3-1/4" and cut again from 5" to 10-1/2".

Your then going to put your cardstock in the cutter the long way and score the channel at 5", 10" & 10-1/2" as shown below.  Fold on the score lines so it looks like this:

I punched out snowflakes with the 3/4" circle punch, backed with Not Quite Navy 1" circles.  I doubled these up so when they twirl around you have the image on both sides.  A little white Baker's Twine in between the layers was perfect.  Run some SNAIL adhesive down the channel on your card base and stick your Baker's Twine to it - spacing your snowflakes evenly.  Then to cover the channel up on the outside of your card - I used Letters From Santa Designer Series Paper - cut a 1" wide.  Make sure you apply your glue to the outside of the card along each edge of the channel - careful not to get any glue on the channel or your pop up willno longer pop up.  I prefer to use the Liquid Mono glue for this step.

You'll notice here that the scalloped layer is bigger than the channel - this measures 1" x 5".

The little sign is the cuff from the Stocking Punch - it's the perfect size to use with the Tiny Tags stamp set.

I used Tiny Tags, Serene Snowflakes, & Many Merry Messages for my stamp sets.

Bag It, Tag It, Box It Stamp Camp

Is this stinkin' cute or what???  I'm going to use this for a TAG on my gifts this holiday season...and I just know my friends and family are going to oooooo and ahhhhhh over them!  They probably won't even remember to open their presents!!!  I'll add a little "TO & FROM" tag to them too...perfect.

Am I the only one that chooses my wrapping paper based on stamp sets and papercraft ideas that I can accessorize my gifts with???  Think about that while your out shopping this holiday season - which gift paper will go good with your stamp sets and your Stampin' Up! colors...

Paint your Glimmer Paper!!!

I promised I'd show you how to color your Glimmer paper....

1. I put some reinker (Indigo Island) in a brad lid - you want to use a VERY dark color for this technique.

2. I sprayed my reinker with a couple squirts of rubbing alcohol.  I used rubbing alcohol because I'd heard from other demonstrators that there was a problem with this technique drying...and alcohol has drying agents.  You can try water if you want...I have a spritzer bottle of alcohol in my stamping dungeon, so it was convenient.

3. Use the large Aqua Painter to color your silver glimmer paper - I squeezed my Aqua Painter a little bit while I was painting with it too. 

4. Paint the entire piece (mine is 3" x 3").

5. I used a heat tool to dry the paint.  You can see how light it gets when you dry it.

Here's a view of the original Silver Glimmer paper and the painted piece.  It's soooo pretty!!!

The dimensions for this gift card holder are 4-1/4" x 11".  Score at 2-3/4, 3-1/4, 3-3/4 & 7-3/8.  I use Mini Glue Dots to attach the gift card inside.

Technique Tuesday Class

It's time for my Technique Tuesday class again - and OH BOY do I have some GREAT ideas for you this month!!!  I hope you can make the class tomorrow (Tuesday, November 8th at 5:30 or 6:30 at Trinity in Menasha).  The class is $5 with a $15 order or FREE with a $40 order.  Just call or email to register.

 

Our "Technique Card" involves Reinkers, an Aqua Painter and our GORGEOUS Silver Shimmer Paper and it's a GIFT CARD HOLDER!!!  The "Technique Card" comes with an instruction sheet where you'll make a sample of the technique and put it right on the sheet.  When you come to a bunch of these classes (and I hope you do!) you'll end up with a little booklet of all kinds of techniques to refer back to when you're creating marvelous cards at home!

We'll also be doing a punch card with a surprise inside....are you ready for this???

It's a pop-up!!!!  The penguin is so adorable on the outside...it's hard to believe that the inside is just as fun!

And last, but certainly NEVER least - we'll be using the #2 Box Die to make an adorable Christmas tree gift holder...great for candy, or jewely (preferably diamonds) or even keys to your NEW CAR!!!!  Or maybe just candy? LOL!  We''re using the Perfect Pennants die for the tree layers...we will also use this die on the stocking gift card holder!!!  DOUBLE fun!

I'll be sharing details for these projects later this week...but right now I have to get my butt in gear and figure out what my FREE Stamping Class cards are gonna be and get them ready for Thursday!!! HOLY COW - busy week!!!

Occasions Mini Sneak Peek!!!!

This set has a definate vintage feel to it - so I just had to rough up my edges to make this card look OLD!  I just love the Baja Breeze Seam Binding and the Crochet Lace ribbon!  I embossed the image and sponged it with Not Quite Navy ink...such a simple technique with so much WOW!

NEW Stocking Punch

I just had to share this card with you!  I was in Rosendale on Saturday for a SUPER fun Technique party and one of the techniques I demonstrated was SHAVING CREAM!!!  It's sooo much fun!  It's really hard to see in the photos, but the layer behind the ribbon has a beautiful, swirly pattern on it.

I demonstrated several different techniques at the party - this was really a different kind of party and I have to say a huge success!  My hostess just closed tonight and she was able to take advantage of the FABULOUS hostess promotion where she received $35 in additional products with her workshop over $350!  She got $115 in FREE merchandise of her choice!!!!  Way to go LORI!
